I know he probably did this on purpose, but seriously, why don't people ever latch their doors in hotel rooms? You don't live there remember? Other people have a key to the room.

I used to work in a hotel, and I would always knock on doors and announce that I would be coming in if no one responded, and way too often I would open the door and see people sitting right there on the couch, just feet from the door. Every time, I mean every time, they would be SHOCKED that I was able to enter the room.

How stupid are people? Because from where I'm sitting, they're incredibly, incredibly stupid.

I'm talking full grown men, 40+ years old, having no idea that staff have their own keys. I mean, holy shit, you WATCHED the person at the front desk MAKE a keycard for you! You think that was the only key, the one that they just MADE, right then? I just don't understand people, and I wish that most of them were dead.

How awesome would that be?

I've had housekeeping people come in anyway, especially if you're in a hotel with thick doors. Or sometimes they'll knock so damn lightly and say housekeeping so quietly you don't really hear them. I've had more than enough times I've responded but they were too busy in their 'knock 3 times while saying housekeeping' mode to actually hear ME.

Yeah, housekeeping is fucking obnoxious. They're always too quiet or too pushy. "When do I clean room? When? When?!" "NOT RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I'M USING IT, YOU SILLY BITCH."

The point is, use the latch. It's the first thing I do when I get in a hotel room. Close the door, turn around, latch.

I always attache the do not disturb sign to the door. Even if i'm not there. I mean, its cool guys I don't really need my sheets or towels changed daily, just move on to the next room.
