This! Half my family is in the military and it's just straight up weird to do that if your not in the military. The better thing is just saying thank you for your service.

Yeah, I usually do the latter. I come from a 100% non-military family. My dad was dismissed from the draft and my mom sobbed for 2 days when I brought up even talking to a ROTC recruiter.

All I wanna do is let y'all know I think you're cool.

But whenever people post pictures of non-military foreigners saluting American troops all of Reddit gets capsaicin in their eyes.

I don't thinks it's weird at all. Civilians saluting military members is a sign of respect to those willing to lay down their life for others.

I'm pretty sure from the angle of his arm and the Marine's reaction that Goodwin was about to salute. The Gunny took offense and did what any good Gunnery Sergeant does when someone does something stupid; screams at them!
