from a Floridian whose been to California, you do not know what humid is.

[–]thematta 44 points45 points ago

Mississippian checking in. I can concur.

[–]Stianos 12 points13 points ago

Louisiana. When we're not underwater, it's pretty humid.

[–]arrisonwondurland 2 points3 points ago

Virginia, used to live in California. When I go there in their hundred degree weather I feel zero heat, whereas when it's 80-90 degrees here I can barely go outside. And my hats off to you previous commenters, I know it's even warmer there.

[–]HoboJoe278 0 points1 point ago

Southwest Michigan checking in, yup it's humid. In the summer anyways.

[–]A_Giant_midget 1 point2 points ago

Dunno why but I thought this when I read your comment (Just skip to 0:17)

[–]encbro 1 point2 points ago

Ha! Thank you for that laugh!

[–]CheeseRaven 31 points32 points ago

I'm a Californian whose lived in Florida, we don't know what humid is.

[–]Stottymod 5 points6 points ago

I'm a Floridian living in California, and back your statement.

[–]wheehahahahoo 2 points3 points ago

I'm a Californian who's been to Florida. I concur.

[–]dietbroccoli 1 point2 points ago

As a Californian who's been to Florida and lives in PA, I find it hard to breathe the ocean these motherfuckers call "air" even after 14 years.

[–]Dstroyrofwrlds 1 point2 points ago

As someone neither from California or Florida, I'm not qualified to join this argument.

[–]Steelfox13 30 points31 points ago

Tennessee here, agreed.

[–]YouListening 4 points5 points ago

Memphis here, I've been enjoying temperatures in the 80's with very little humidity (usually). I'd almost say autumn came early. Also, what the hell's going on in the rest of the state?

[–]Steelfox13 2 points3 points ago

Okay, this last week or two sure...

[–]YouListening 1 point2 points ago

I hid inside all summer. I have people inform when apocalyptic humidities are reached so I can avoid a complete follicular disaster.

[–]I_CAPE_RATS 1 point2 points ago

As someone who just paid a $240 electric bill for August (usually it's only $50 or so), yes it's been a hot summer.

[–]EasySchmitty 6 points7 points ago

Minnesota, when your state's next to a giant ass lake, you will understand humid.

[–]Stianos 0 points1 point ago

Louisiana here, right, so does the Golf of Mexico count? Or all of our swamps? Yeah, come down here and then tell me how humid your state it.

[–]HansUdermacher 0 points1 point ago

Really not that much of a difference between these two states.
Compare these Minnesota averages: http://www.currentresults.com/Weather/Minnesota/humidity-annual.php

to these Louisiana averages: http://www.currentresults.com/Weather/Louisiana/humidity-annual.php

Actually, my hometown of Rochester gets as humid, and more in the afternoon than those major cities in Louisiana, despite the morning humidity.

[–]Stianos 0 points1 point ago

Well. I guess you win then. Its still pretty damn humid here though.

[–]spagnitz 0 points1 point ago

well we have this giant ass thing called the pacific next to california

[–]missachlys 0 points1 point ago

California's next to the biggest lake in the world; the Pacific.

Large body of water =! automatically humid.

[–]planty 0 points1 point ago

The coast is really nice and cool in the summer but once you go into the valley its quite arid.

[–]NotYetDomestic 13 points14 points ago

Agreed. Georgian here. It can be 95% humidity and not a drop of rain. It feels like I'm constantly wearing a thick turtleneck.

[–]ohrightrightright 8 points9 points ago

Northern Virginian/DMV area correspondent checking in, confirming again that california does not recognize what humidity is.

[–]porchcracker 6 points7 points ago

Marylander visiting CA right now. Agreed, it is simply beautiful outside.

[–]jeridaraven 6 points7 points ago

Just moved here from SC. This is not humid.

[–]zeamaize 3 points4 points ago

California is horrifically dry.

[–]graphickellie 4 points5 points ago

Ohioan here. We're just glad we're not Michigan!

[–]chillale66 3 points4 points ago

WV here, we're just glad we're not you guys.

[–]Marzipan86 2 points3 points ago

As is KY.

[–]Dubyaz 5 points6 points ago

Houstonian here, you lose.

[–]ANAL_QUEEN 0 points1 point ago

You mean that constant sweat isn't just me?

[–]cakeman666 0 points1 point ago

We get that here in Dallas too. Take one step outside and your drenched. I'm even sweating inside D:

[–]Ikimasen 0 points1 point ago

I was in Houston just weeks ago, and Gatlin's barbecue was awesome, but I ate it outside. Here in the shitty swamps of Carolina, let me tell you, if it was ninety-five degrees outside, eating on the porch would be like sitting in a sauna.

[–]successadult 1 point2 points ago

As a Houstonian whose A/C was out for a week and a half in July when it was 105, I don't consider myself a winner.

[–]dcorik 4 points5 points ago

Alabama checking in. Walking to class is more like swimming.

[–]xNocturne 4 points5 points ago

As a Louisianian, you don't know what humid is.

[–]vocrenegade 4 points5 points ago

Californian whose stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky. You have no clue what humid is.

[–]Beardguyz 4 points5 points ago

Virginian here CALIFORNIA Is not humid

[–]TheSandman13 4 points5 points ago

as a Californian who has been to Florida and lives in Texas, i agree

[–]Tipsymidget 2 points3 points ago

Alabama is in the house, and I concede to the fact that it is humid as fuck here.

[–]Evlwolf 2 points3 points ago

I'm a Californian who now lives in Florida. It's true, Californians know nothing of humidity. There was a dry day a month or so back... I noticed instantly, and I felt like I was at home.

[–]zwirlo 4 points5 points ago

Pennsylvanian here. Humid in the Summer, Freezing in the Winter. You just can't win.

[–]Stottymod 0 points1 point ago

There's times when it will change to the other extreme and back again in the course of two days.

[–]zwirlo 0 points1 point ago

Like right now!

[–]HansUdermacher 0 points1 point ago

Know exactly what you mean. Minnesota is the exact same way.

[–]zwirlo 0 points1 point ago

God yeah I've been up to Wisconsin and you guys probably have the worst winter's in America (aside from Alaska)

[–]Packers91 2 points3 points ago

As a North Carolinian who has been to California and Florida, you have no idea what humid is.

[–]ChibiTohru 1 point2 points ago

Arizonian checking in. It's hot.

[–]ANAL_QUEEN 1 point2 points ago

Houstonian, Holy crap I'm soaked.

[–]Grimmsterj 1 point2 points ago

Been to Florida and California,. I confirm Mexico is worse.

[–]csleigh8 0 points1 point ago

...and singapore is like hell on earth, if anyone's interested

[–]Katy-Kat 0 points1 point ago

Came here just to say this.

[–]danieljschuster 0 points1 point ago

Person from outside of California here, ditto.

[–]Rychand 0 points1 point ago

I'm a West Texan who has also lived in Colorado. What is this "humid" you speak of?

[–]hubbawubba 0 points1 point ago

I just moved out of Atlanta in July and am now in southern CA. It's no Florida humidity, but it's damn close to Atlanta's summer lately.

[–]SerJamers 0 points1 point ago

Arkansas is humid as well. I have lived in Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, and Georgia also. It's the Southern US...It's humid.

[–]lol_you_are_gay 0 points1 point ago

Californian living in Houston checking in

[–]Tosi 0 points1 point ago

This.

[–]spagnitz 0 points1 point ago

so what is humid?

[–]emmmmmas 0 points1 point ago

As a Californian who has lived in Florida, I agree with this. Florida is a disgustingly wet marsh. California has unique climates... and seasons.

[–]laschupacabras -1 points0 points ago

I agree with you, but California is quite large. We have deserts, mountain ranges, snow, flat valleys, coast lines, and even our coasts have very different climates. So my point is even Californians don't have lots of experience will all of our climates. You have to spend lots of time in lots of different places to really understand each area, and there are lots.

[–]Imsomagic 16 points17 points ago

But none of them are fucking humid in California. We got desert, not desert, city, forest, bay area, and practically-Oregon.

[–]BiggsDB 2 points3 points ago

Lived in Arkansas for a majority of my life with tons of Gulf humidity, grew up primarily around Omaha before that and experienced all sorts of actual seasons and severe weather, and now I live in Davis, California and despite the heat of the last few weeks I have no reason to complain. No tornados, no thunderstorms, no insane humidity, just ready for Fall to begin so I'm not sweating all afternoon. Though, I can always visit the bay if I want to cool off.

[–]teuast 47 points48 points ago

It's just hot here. Humidity is found elsewhere.

[–]nitefang 4 points5 points ago

It's been rather humid lately. I mean we have nothing on the South but we are very humid for being a desert.

[–]teuast 3 points4 points ago

I was at an XC meet yesterday, it wasn't too humid. Felt blisteringly hot while I was running, but not particularly humid.

[–]bryce901 2 points3 points ago

woodbridge?

[–]teuast 0 points1 point ago

Mt. Carmel.

[–]missachlys 0 points1 point ago

Hey! That's my schools meet! I was there. :D D1 or D2?

We got a lot of news coverage for it. A bunch of parents are all up in arms that we continued to run the races. I don't think they understand how cross country works...

[–]teuast 0 points1 point ago

D2. And yeah, we had some of that, but mostly from freshman parents. Everyone else there had experienced the meet last season where we got hailed on.

[–]missachlys 0 points1 point ago

Ouch. D2 got the worst of it. MC generally runs first regardless of division, so most of our team ran before it got too bad (except for our freshmen lol), but I was working in the chute most of the day and it was not pretty towards the end. Especially the freshmen races, but even some of the soph/junior race. It was ~103 by the time D2 sophomores were setting off.

Respect! I managed to escape it yesterday (only 90 when I ran) but I've run in 110 before and it was not fun at all. And that was only a 1500. Can't imagine a two mile.

[–]teuast 0 points1 point ago

I was in the senior race, so it was a bit cooler, plus people were throwing water at me almost literally the whole way. It wasn't horrible, but yeah, I was seeing people being carried off by the paramedics.

[–]bryce901 0 points1 point ago

oh that's cool...i was at woodbridge on saturday

[–]wolfetank66 20 points21 points ago

Houston Texas

[–]bearwulf 3 points4 points ago

Agreed. Although I do like it here when walking out of the bar drunk and having if feel like a warm blanket wrapped around you from the humidity.

[–]AnorexicBuddha 27 points28 points ago

It's humid in California? Aw, that's cute.

-Louisianian

[–]MuffinLuvin 2 points3 points ago

Not sure 14% humidity is very humid.... Now Louisiana and east coast states know humidity. S.D. never gets humid. Source: "33 years living in San Diego." But yea I agree it is cute people bitch out here about weather.

EDIT: It was 106 yesterday and 95 today. 2 damn days out of the whole summer.

[–]sancarlos 7 points8 points ago

You wouldn't survive down here in Louisiana.

[–]HIPSTigER 15 points16 points ago

You misspelled North Carolina.

[–]Packers91 1 point2 points ago

Fucking miserable here in the summer

[–]platypusfucker 0 points1 point ago

And the other seasons.

[–]encbro 1 point2 points ago

Move to the beach! It's not bad at all here. We have the OBX too!

[–]Liebonaut 25 points26 points ago

STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE WEATHER, YOU LIVE IN FUCKING CALIFORNIA.

[–]Kongo204 4 points5 points ago

Not all of California is that way. OP is probably on the coast getting 100-110 weather. This is our normal weather in the valley.

[–]PandaSquadron 0 points1 point ago

San Luis Obispo/Santa Maria area here. Weather is amazing, 80-90 during the day

[–]laschupacabras 33 points34 points ago

I'm a California native and you have no idea what humidity is.

  • S.F. --> Foggy marine layer, but it's rarely foggy when it's hot = not humid. Usually burns off anyway, humidity doesn't "burn off". Also, S.F. and surrounding territories (Napa, Sonoma, San Jose, Santa Rosa) have their own unique micro-climates. There is only moisture in the air when it is cool (typically), so no real humidity here.

  • L.A. --> Does get marine layer this time of year, but air is not moist enough at ground level to be real "humidity". I'd say "mugginess" would better describe L.A. moisture. Plus, the mugginess isn't mixed with 115 degree weather in L.A.

  • S.D. --> The closest thing to humidity here is "June Bloom", and it doesn't even come close to real humidity.

Find yourself in Ohio, Florida, Georgia, etc. this time of year, then you will know what real humidity is, son.

[–]missachlys 7 points8 points ago

Obviously not a native Southern Californian.

S.D. --> The closest thing to humidity here is "June Bloom", and it doesn't even come close to real humidity.

*June Gloom, and does not refer in any way to "humid weather". It refers to the persistent marine layer that happens late-spring/early-summer. If anything, it's quite cool these months (April/June). No one complains about humidity.

Though I have absolutely no clue what the OP is talking about. Humidity? It was fucking dry as a bone the last few days. Where was it humid?

[–]gitsgrl 0 points1 point ago

Ha, agreed. Have lived here forever and thought "WTF is June bloom?" It was nice and hot, but dry at the coast. My basis for comparison is a summer in Indiana.

[–]jmoshbdn 2 points3 points ago

Florida FTW. Marine layer all year, whole state, twice over.

[–]sweet_n_spicy 0 points1 point ago

Yup. I lived in California until recently and I have no idea what OP is talking about. Let me tell you I did not know humidity until I visited Korea over the summer. I'm in Georgia at the moment and compared to Korea the heat and humidity are nothing.

[–]CarrieTheFairy 12 points13 points ago

i live in Cali and its like never humid here... get your facts straight

[–]SleepingOnMoonshine 4 points5 points ago

It isn't humid in California bro.
I'm pretty sure there's drought.
C'mon down to the east coast.
We'll show you some fucking humidity.

[–]MuffinLuvin 2 points3 points ago

100% correct!

-San Diego

[–]vnkid 1 point2 points ago

I was hoping for rhyme scheme. Don't entice me with stanzas and then fail to deliver.

[–]TygErbLoOd 3 points4 points ago

isn't anyone going to talk about the bunny?

[–]TeblowTime 1 point2 points ago

No, I have no sympathy. I've lived in California for 11 years and New England for 11 years. Fuck the New England. The only people that like it are the ones that were born here. They don't know anything else.

Humidity this, humidity that. Whatever, the point is that it's really fucking hot!!

[–]Kongo204 0 points1 point ago

It's kinda hot. I'm from the valley. You wimps are getting our average summer temp

[–]BabyDoll_420 -1 points0 points ago

SFV? Yea, I'm in thousand oaks. I hate going to the valley. Too fucking hot.

[–]Kongo204 0 points1 point ago

Fresno

[–]BabyDoll_420 0 points1 point ago

Haha o god I'm so sorry, that's awful. I've experienced the heat up there too. Way worse than san fernando.

[–]Kongo204 0 points1 point ago

Haha I'm used to it. It's not a big deal if I have a good fan and no clothes

[–]CheeseBall526 2 points3 points ago

This is a joke right? California is so dry compared to the easy coast and Midwest

[–]coachcoby23 2 points3 points ago

Am i the only one around here; that doesn't care about humidity and wants to know what is that fur ball?

[–]ThisIsDK 4 points5 points ago

No matter how many times I see this image, it cracks me up.

[–]graphickellie -1 points0 points ago

Samezies! I dont care when it's reported bc it makes me lol!

[–]otherband 3 points4 points ago

Repost!

[–]hpfanficluvr 2 points3 points ago

As a born and raised Californian who has been to Florida, we NEVER have humidity. We have some days where we THINK it's humid, then I recall being in Florida in OCTOBER and laugh and say "nevermind" Though, I'm admittedly NorCal, so I feel I get the good end of the hot/cold spectrum. I also admit to being freezing cold when it's 40f out and my friends in Michigan practically bitch-slapping me with their -20f.
spoiled Cali girl

[–]TeblowTime 1 point2 points ago

Seconded, I was born and raised in San Jose. Then, moved to New England. It's hilarious to visit in "winter", all my friends and relatives break out their huge jackets as soon as it gets below 50F. I need to move back asap.

[–]csleigh8 0 points1 point ago

and don't you love seeing people in san francisco wearing gloves and scarves in winter....when its 54 degrees and sunny (i grew up near boston)

[–]TeblowTime 1 point2 points ago

Quite aggravating, but mainly because I'm jealous.

[–]pingthepong 0 points1 point ago

When are you guys going to fall into the ocean?

[–]Kongo204 0 points1 point ago

Depends on how hot it gets doesn't it?

[–]tesnakeinurboot 1 point2 points ago

What heat? I haven't noticed any particular heat here in the last month.

[–]missachlys 1 point2 points ago

SoCal has been having a heat wave for the last few days. I don't think it's gone father north.

If you're in SoCal and haven't noticed the 105+ temps, then I think you need to step outside every once in a while.

[–]csleigh8 0 points1 point ago

i think the high in oakland today was like 65. i miss hot weather

[–]tesnakeinurboot 0 points1 point ago

That's it, I live up in Sonoma.

[–]tmeuze 0 points1 point ago

I'm not sure... Moved to Fresno from Georgia, and I'm kinda missing Georgia right now.

[–]Kongo204 1 point2 points ago

Reporting in from Fresno, we aren't what OP is talking about. OP's probably from SoCal getting our average summer weather, but with an ocean to jump into

[–]tmeuze 0 points1 point ago

This is very true. Damn San Diegans

[–]gitsgrl 0 points1 point ago

You are in Fresno, nuf said.

[–]RiddikulusNicole 1 point2 points ago

Oh man I know exactly how you feel. Here in Canada the humidity can be overwhelming.

[–]Adidos 0 points1 point ago

Can Southern Ontario join the club?

[–]dabird22 0 points1 point ago

I can't talk for northern California but southern California is almost never too humid. I visited Florida recently...now that is humidity

[–]Mazuna 0 points1 point ago

I swear I will upvote this picture no matter how many times I see it, It's fucking brilliant.

[–]crankypants_mcgee 0 points1 point ago

Grew up in Southern California, live in Florida now. California has NO IDEA what humidity is.

[–]Lion_Cub_Kurz 0 points1 point ago

Repost

[–]Tokestra420 0 points1 point ago

Living in the Niagara Region, I have to agree. At least you guys only have water on 1 side, we have it on 3.

[–]LightPoopin 0 points1 point ago

If I'd count the times I've seen this picture..

[–]nee617 0 points1 point ago

I am currently visiting fiends in California and I must say, you guys don't have shit on Wisconsin in terms of humidity... The heat and humidity here is like a walk in the park compared to the heat and humidity back home in Wisconsin!!!

[–]TeblowTime 0 points1 point ago

Wait, what? There is virtually no humidity in California. I was born and raised in San Jose and moved to the east coast when I was 11. Fucking NH is way more humid than California. And Florida is worse than NH.

[–]sharkeagle 0 points1 point ago

I'm a South Dakotan who just moved to Northern California. It is not humid here.

[–]teemocil 0 points1 point ago

Have you ever been to Florida??

[–]astoundingasymmetry 0 points1 point ago

Californian checking in; no humidity, just fog.

[–]Kongo204 1 point2 points ago

Go away. I'm from the central valley. You guys are getting our normal summer temps

[–]missachlys 0 points1 point ago

I know for a fact that 109 degrees is not normal summer temperature for Central Valley. Yeah, it gets hot there, but is not constantly above 100.

Ninja edit: Quick Google search tells me average is high 90s. Again, not 100+.

[–]Kongo204 0 points1 point ago

Hell of a lot hotter than SoCal. We still spend at least a month per year above 100.

[–]missachlys 0 points1 point ago

On average, maybe. But our temps the last few days are not "normal summer temps" for you.

Honestly, I'm just tired of the condescending "aww you guys are so cute with your weather that seems hot. Listen to how my life is so much worse."

[–]Kongo204 0 points1 point ago

It is normal for us. I feel a little sick after the first day over 100 per year, but after that I'm used to it. I run cross country after school every year at the beginning of the school year. Often it is over 100 while I'm running and I feel fine. My life isn't worse, I just don't get all the complaining.

[–]Ikimasen 0 points1 point ago

"What's the best job in America? Being the weatherman in San Diego California. You've got a six-figure income and you're on camera for about 30 seconds. 'What's the weather gonna be like, Lou?' 'Um... nice. Back to you.'"

i dont care if it's humid or not. wtf is that thing

[–]Wombmate 1 point2 points ago

My state can beat up your state.

[–]pannedcakes 0 points1 point ago

Having experienced summers in San Francisco, Hong Kong and Toronto. The humidity in the Bay Area is like a 2 on a 10 point scale, Toronto is a 6 at times, and Hong Kong is like an 8.

Native Californian here, where the fuck is it ever humid in this entire state? Hell, even sitting on top of the ocean, it isn't as humid as the south or east coast!

[–]jinsei-shiki 0 points1 point ago

Hate to say this, but this has been on a Facebook page for quite some time. Unless I'm mistaken about the rules of stolen content.. Let me know.

You wouldn't believe it, but it can get pretty damn hot and humid in Minnesota. Cali's got it pretty good for the most part.

[–]Vaelerie 1 point2 points ago

Georgia here. You shut up with your false conceptions of what humidity is!

[–]maegos 0 points1 point ago

[–]phrank12 1 point2 points ago

HEY GUYS IM FROM SOMEWHERE THATS MORE HUMID THAN WHERE YOU'RE FROM GIVE ME KARMA

[–]msellenkass 0 points1 point ago

This will probably get buried but here's my two cents: Being a s.CA native I agree that we have no idea what true humidity is, however this summer has been particularly "humid" for us natives. I live in the high desert and I can say that I've never experienced this amount of humidity in CA and coupling it with 110 degree temperatures makes it absolutely horrendous. Well now that I've defended OP allow me to add this as a direct message to OP: Stop complaining about the humidity in CA please! You're making us look like the perfect weather spoiled brats that the remaining 49 states think we are. Complaining about the humidity in CA is just like complaining when the temperature "dips" down to (GASP) 45 degrees in the winter.

For a while, I actually thought that was a real rabbit, not a plush one.

Seems like everyone is just saying that California is super awesome.

[–]cheesechimp 0 points1 point ago

Let's be honest, you've either never been to California, or you've never been out of California, right?

[–]shutupandsitdown 0 points1 point ago

where is it humid in california?!

[–]teh_fearless_leader 0 points1 point ago

At 5-15% humidity, it's barely humid. it's just 105 Degrees. Don't bitch about the humidity.

[–]mamatodae 0 points1 point ago

I live in Mississippi; therefore, I scoff at your low humidity.

[–]dayvieee -4 points-3 points ago

WHATS THAT?

I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER HOW AWESOME CALIFORNIA IS

[–]halfcab 0 points1 point ago

its california.....it was 75 and sunny today. and it will be that same thing 4 months from now. this state has no room to complain about the weather.

[–]bury_caesar 1 point2 points ago

Nigga wat it was 99 in the hollywood hills today

[–]seaweed77 1 point2 points ago

It's not humid in California. I lived in Northern California my whole life and just moved to the East Coast, that's humidity. I stopped needing to put on chapstick and face lotion and drink about two glasses less water every day just because of the difference in the air

[–]fgillette 1 point2 points ago

I live in Florida and none of you have anything to complain about.

[–]dirty_fingers -2 points-1 points ago

So quit bitching and move!
