Can everyone who's disagreeing in this thread stop comparing GO to CoD? No one complaining about the recoil in GO even brought up CoD.

[–]MaximusQuackhandle 7 points8 points ago

The BF3 community has the same problem, it just seems to be the laziest insult, to compare someone to a CoD player.

[–]0ab83a7b 9 points10 points ago

Your post is so Akimbo Shotguns.

[–]powerchicken 27 points28 points ago

Here we go again, the newbs who can't control their recoil blame the game.

[–]grev 2 points3 points ago

The recoil in GO is significantly higher than in 1.6 and (obviously) source. As an experienced player, I'm finding it extremely irritating when I miss at point blank range.

[–]Zarathustra92 -3 points-2 points ago

Except the devs altered that. Ages ago. It's more like 1.6 than source now, maybe that is your problem?

[–]grev 2 points3 points ago

The recoil, as it is right now, is still more dramatic than it is in 1.6. I even went and played some 1.6 to make sure I was sane. Controlled spray in 1.6 rewards skill, but in GO it still just feels like I'm rolling a d20.

CS:GO ain't your normal COD FPS.

[–]XtheXlanternX 5 points6 points ago

This is a great expression of recoil in CS, I agree. Having played GO A LOT recently, I find spraying to be rather predictable, but every once in awhile, I'll just fire an entire magazine into someone and hit absolutely nothing. The vast majority of the time though, its just like 1.6, source: pull down and win.

Not sure why this got downvoted so much, I got a laugh out of it because it happens to me sometimes.

[–]FourKingAce 17 points18 points ago

Tis the 3rd repost, probably why

[–]leftundone 5 points6 points ago

Ah, I hadn't seen it before but fair enough.

[–]ghostofmybrain 3 points4 points ago

That's why bitching about reposts is so ridiculous. Not everybody spends 16 hours a day on reddit. I hadn't seen it either, it gave me a chuckle, I upvoted.

[–]snackies 2 points3 points ago

I mean, I didn't take this as an insult, I think a lot of people took this post as a huge insult. In reality it is sort of true, but I like it that way. CS ends up being a game which while it does certainly have big twitch shooter elements to it, ultimately its a game of weapon control, and control under pressure. When you go full on spray in close / mid range, yeah sometimes you'll get the kill, but i'd say about 8/10 times, the controlled calm shooter will probably beat the guy spraying. Thats part of what you learn as you get better in CS. Its a combination of getting very good mechanically so you can actually aim properly, and actually place your cross-hairs on target quickly, and being able to control your fire after you acquire your target.

In CS:GO the safest position to be against an AK is directly in front of someone.

[–]thepowerisyours 4 points5 points ago

I'm dying, my stomach hurts.

[–]BiNiaRiS 5 points6 points ago

holy shit. this should be upvoted to infinity.

i complain about the shit all the time. it feels like the closer you get to an enemy, the harder they are to hit. it's like the game looks at your distance and if you are close, it replaces 1/2 of your bullets with blanks.

[–]BillCosby3D 9 points10 points ago

this should be upvoted to infinity

I'm not sure

[–]Get_Tryhard[S] 0 points1 point ago

I honestly thought this was OC, downvote if you want. Was just hoping to get some laughs

[–]BillCosby3D 0 points1 point ago

I don't mean to complain and I'm not criticising you. I just thought it should be mentioned that this is not the first time this gif has been posted to r/Globaloffensive

[–]ruskiman 2 points3 points ago

Welcome to CS:GO. Please leave your silly CoD thoughts and antics at the door.

[–]Durandal1707 -4 points-3 points ago

l2p or go back to COD.

[–]markduderino 3 points4 points ago

Is that Weird Al?

[–]Chinnpoo -3 points-2 points ago

looks like him. never noticed until now.

[–]Brokenglass126 14 points15 points ago

Its from the movie UHF which stars Weird Al. Fantastic movie.

[–]chewp911 2 points3 points ago

Seconding this, I watched it again recently and had forgotten so many little jokes that are just fantastic.

[–]BubbaRay88 0 points1 point ago

A red snapper. Nice choice.

[–]evoken1 3 points4 points ago

I liken it to shooting a ghost.

[–]MarkyOchoa 2 points3 points ago

The most accurate depiction of ingame recoil. My recoil control in 1.6 was pretty decent. Now I'm like in this gif.

[–]Darthok 1 point2 points ago

Just because you're close to an enemy doesn't mean you can spray and kill them. You still have to aim and pace your shots so you're spray isn't all over the place.

[–]ZeroThroughNine 0 points1 point ago

Except the enemy knives you after you empty your magazine

[–]Apollo2k 0 points1 point ago

You can all argue elsewhere, this gif never gets old. WE GOT IT ALL ON UHF!

[–]Hoody711 0 points1 point ago

AK47 -_-

[–]frooshiantee -1 points0 points ago

I never have problems with recoil. Dunno what you are complaining about. It is certainly different from 1.6 and source, but it has been proven consistent. Maybe don't spray next time.

[–]tcrary -3 points-2 points ago

Looking back at Source from GO the patterns are tooo fucking easy.
Just spend a couple 30 min sessions on an FY_ICEWORLD dm trying to get at least 2:1 kdr. Thats how I did it.

[–]lasernancy 7 points8 points ago

Are you saying that the patterns are too easy in Source? Because the pattern in Source is completely randomized.

[–]tcrary 1 point2 points ago

The patterns in source are random but still come out generally the same. There's a reason why you can watch Freakazoid spray headshot 3 people in a row. By now all I do is know the general distances my recoil jumps and follow where the rounds land. Source sprays are really predictable Imho, easy to see them and the hitboxes are easy to understand.

[–]Magzter -1 points0 points ago

random but still come out generally the same

heh.

[–]phukka 0 points1 point ago

Anyone who's ever bothered to learn the recoil patterns in CS will know what he means. Either your ignorant or just nitpicking, here.

The randomness is still limited to the base spray pattern. It's an issue of a few degrees of difference. It's not like it's going to change directions randomly, however. It will always go up, right, left, right. Always.
