Why the hell is Spider-Man reading Atlas Shrugged?

[–]Koltreg 12 points13 points ago

It is a reference to the Peter Bagge comic "The Megalomaniacal Spider-man."

[–]devophill 7 points8 points ago

No, it's a reference to Steve Ditko, noted Objectivist. There was was quite a discussion about this in /r/pics, but I'd hoped /r/comicbooks would get the reference. Oh well.

No it's a reference to atlas comics, marvel's precursor.

He needed a laugh?

He wanted to join the Ryan staff?

He decided to return to his selfish ways and let more people get shot by burglars?

[–]SilverSpider781Ultimate Spider-Fan 4 points5 points ago

I tried to read it once, it's a long-ass book for just one laugh.

Batman meant to call Franklin Richards.

Here's what I posted on a friends' FB who posted this...

Hello can I speak to your butler? Oh you don't have one? But who tends to your mansion? An apartment? Well Manhattan is nice especially by the park...*Queens? Where do you park your spider-car or spider-plane? Oh .. I see.

[–]neoblackdragon 0 points1 point ago

Well Batman has a car that turns into a place and back again. Well at least Dick Grayson did.

[–]LonelyNixon 0 points1 point ago

I thought Peter lived in queens.

[–]andycryst 0 points1 point ago

You're probably right about that and Peter could always retort "What the fuck is a Gotham?".

I guess you are unfamiliar with the spider mobile.
