I live in Alabama and my local radio station came on and interrupted a song saying "Breaking News! Fox has released that our county is now in Mississippi. More on this later."

[–]CurlyNippleHairs 25 points26 points ago

Doesn't MO stand for Missouri?

[–]FancySkunk 60 points61 points ago

In addition to Arkansas being mislabeled, Alabama and Mississippi are reversed.

[–]Defcon458 10 points11 points ago

They're trying to confuse the southland!

[–]CurlyNippleHairs 6 points7 points ago

Ah ok I see.

[–]NeoIsTaken 148 points149 points ago

Brought to you by Bing!

[–]tevert 113 points114 points ago

Was just about to say that. Bing is probably the funniest/saddest thing on the internet. It's like Google's retarded little brother.

[–]Tentacolt 81 points82 points ago

It's like Google is that popular kid who's still nice to everyone, and bing is the guy who dresses just like him, tries to be him, talks about how much better he is than him, but is an annoying little shit who smells a bit and no one likes.

[–]ultrabright 36 points37 points ago

Bing's birds eye view is incredible compared to google.

[–]jaepoe 13 points14 points ago

He's not wrong.

[–]fatmasterrex 10 points11 points ago

I'm able to see the top of my apartment in google maps. With Bing I could walk through the whole complex.

Bing is a retarded search engine but the maps are pretty great.

But the bandwagon is to love google and hate bing at all costs.

[–]HukdOnFonix21 0 points1 point ago

I must admit that I probably would never use a feature like this and I travel a lot for work. I've been up to as many as 14 sites in 4 days (my normal work week). My gps(GMaps) takes me to where I need to go 99% of the time. I just don't know what I would use a feature like that for. On top of that, I just get turned off every time I've seen a bing map on a website. Reverse your fucking zoom buttons for the love of god! Other than the search, I've been using Google services since Gmail was invite only. So, forgive me for being loyal to a company that has been giving me way too much free shit for way too long.

[–]Syn7axError -3 points-2 points ago

Bing's maps are ridiculously slow(It takes at least twice as much time to zoom in and out) and they can never find any addresses.

Besides, Google has street view.

[–]shoppedpixels 1 point2 points ago

For me at least. Bing's views are just as fast as Google's initial street view on an area...slow. Then again, i can see detailed maps anywhere in the US/lots of the world, I should be happy with that.

[–]fatmasterrex 2 points3 points ago

Bing has streetside. Also the maps load just as fast as any other for me.

[–]mckinnon3048 0 points1 point ago

Yeah Bing can read your street numbers when you zoom on your house, but good luck finding it, odds are it won't drop you where you want to go when searching for your house or anything else really.

[–]tylerwatt12 3 points4 points ago

but Google has a much better streetview

[–]aceman123 2 points3 points ago

Being unaware of bird's eye view, I just looked my house up to check this...the picture is easily 6 years old. The house it shows across from mine has been long since destroyed.

[–]UKRick 0 points1 point ago

Bings maps are older compared to Google.

[–]NiteShadeX2 5 points6 points ago

The only upside to bing is I can use it to mooch free xbox points.

[–]SomeFakeInternetName 1 point2 points ago

Explain.

[–]NiteShadeX2 2 points3 points ago

Theres a Bing rewards program where if you use the search function it adds up points that can be later traded for various items. The points per search and daily caps vary by month. It takes 2 minutes to do the "daily cap" of searches so you dont need to dedicate all internet browsing through Bing.

[–]thefinn93 4 points5 points ago

Bing has to pay people to use it?

[–]zakii 3 points4 points ago

Ad revenue is ad revenue. Those free Xbox Points aren't costing them as much as they're gaining.

[–]thefinn93 3 points4 points ago

well yes but it says something about the quality of the search results if they have to pay people to use it.

[–]worriedblowfish 0 points1 point ago

So you farm for microsoft points by using their shit. Huh.

[–]NiteShadeX2 4 points5 points ago

You literally can. Someone mentioned it to me a few months ago, been using it as often as I remember and I recently cashed out my points and spend the XBL points on the Skyrim dlcs.

[–]Kon-chezz 0 points1 point ago

[–]hack5amurai 4 points5 points ago

Its good for porn.

[–]nicoleisrad -2 points-1 points ago

How can you say that? Don't you prefer the one on the left?

(I haven't so far.)

[–]ThatDamnPoop 0 points1 point ago

I just LOLed!!!!

[–]_Meece_ -1 points0 points ago

Except with a better maps functions.

Seriously, Bing Maps blows Google Maps out the water.

[–]jaepoe 27 points28 points ago

I checked it out and zoomed in on a random place to see how it was. At first I thought it was loading badly or rendering everything in the wrong place, but eventually I realized I was just looking at the ugliest terrain I've ever seen. My heart goes out to anyone living in North Buffalo, Pennsylvania.

[–]NiteShadeX2 3 points4 points ago

That made my evening.

[–]ohsothisisreddit 0 points1 point ago

Isn't the faulty map shown in the OP a Bing map? The map with all the missing/re-arranged states?

I really could be missing something, but I doubt Fox would use Bings map, splash the name on there, and then take the effort to fuck it up beyond recognition just for lulz

[–]_Meece_ 2 points3 points ago

Well this is around where the Fox News map is. It seems to be a fuck up on Fox's end.

[–]ohsothisisreddit -1 points0 points ago

That is fuckin' weird then.

[–]_Meece_ 1 point2 points ago

I don't know my US geography very well, but it just seems like they put Missouri where Arkansas should be.

[–]DoctorCthulhu 3 points4 points ago

As well as swapping Mississippi and Alabama. It seems like whoever made that map doesn't know their geography very well, either.

[–]hookeslaw -1 points0 points ago

The one thing I'll give bing is that the street names are actually readable at my monitor's resolution, Google Maps, not so much.

[–]_Meece_ -1 points0 points ago

I just like how smooth it is. Google Maps is very laggy.

[–]Syn7axError 0 points1 point ago

Really? I have the exact opposite.

[–]EsplodingBomb 3 points4 points ago

I tried out that bing vs google thing bing has going, and 5/5 of my preferable engine tests came out as google.

[–]FPSAzn 3 points4 points ago

Same, oddly enough. I thought bing would at least try to skew it towards itself.

[–]isofat 0 points1 point ago

It depends on what you search for. Bing is supposedly the superior search engine for porn.

[–]kingofallthesexy 0 points1 point ago

Which still doesn't have my street. Its been over a year since it was "made".

[–]Stefferdiddle 1 point2 points ago

Well, now we know who actually uses Bing. The morons at Fox!

[–]wang2chung 14 points15 points ago

Now if we could get everyone in Arkansas to forget about Fox news.

[–]shoppedpixels 0 points1 point ago

Why? You can't tell me that a state with a pop under 3million makes Fox so highly ranked...I know plenty of CAians who watch it as well...

[–]jayceesus 1 point2 points ago

because we need progression in our state. Big time.

[–]jsm445 46 points47 points ago

look at alabama and mississippi

[–]ShroudofTuring 8 points9 points ago

At least they didn't swap Texas and Louisiana. That would have been embarrassing.

[–]Amazingman45 36 points37 points ago

Wow looks like Arkansas not only lost their eight number spot in NCAA rankings but also their state Edit: I live in Arkansas and cheer for Arkansas but still.

[–]redtuna 5 points6 points ago

:(

[–]melissarose8585 4 points5 points ago

But - but we lost Wilson! It couldn't be helped!

[–]Amazingman45 -2 points-1 points ago

one man does not make up the entire team

[–]corbygray528 4 points5 points ago

See: Cam Newton and the 2010 Auburn Tigers

[–]Amazingman45 0 points1 point ago

yeah and who did he have catching the football darvin Adams. And who ran the ball when cam didn't Michle dyer. I stand corrected

[–]corbygray528 0 points1 point ago

Yes he had other talented players assisting him, and I'm an auburn fan, but had he not had them he still could have dominated the same way he did. Didn't matter who he had beside him.

[–]Amazingman45 -1 points0 points ago

Well he was outstanding player but he is s little lass than he is made up to be. And (i am not using this as a point) do you think you could be a little bias sense you are a auburn fan?

[–]corbygray528 1 point2 points ago

Sure I could be biased, but I don't remember seeing a game where it came down to who he had with him. It always came down to him pulling the win out of his ass somehow.

[–]Amazingman45 -1 points0 points ago

He was not the team and he could not when without his star tight end and Michel dyer.

[–]corbygray528 0 points1 point ago

win* and Dyer was a running back, not tight end. My point is, losing one player on a team can definitely change the entire course of the game (causing the team to lose). Had Auburn not had Cam that season, 90% of those games wouldn't have even been close. Sure one man doesn't make up the entire team, as it takes multiple players doing their jobs to win, but one player certainly can make the team work properly. Take out a key component of the teams strategy, and they will have a hard time making fundamental adjustments to come out with a win.

[–]melissarose8585 1 point2 points ago

We lost Petrino?

I know I'm reaching now...

[–]Amazingman45 0 points1 point ago

It's okay. Actually I am planning on going to ULM. I would be a third generation. Or somthing like that. Also I am a die hard LSU fan. But I still like Arkansas

[–]172trey 3 points4 points ago

Feels bad man. Feels bad...

[–]zomin93 3 points4 points ago

That...that hurt...

[–]Admiral_Nobeard -2 points-1 points ago

What's an NCAA?

[–]severedfinger 20 points21 points ago

TIL I grew up in Little Rock, Missouri.

[–]MYinnerTHOUGHTS 3 points4 points ago

Me Too!

[–]GTAking33 6 points7 points ago

And I live in Fayetteville, Missouri. O_o

[–]taciturnreserve 0 points1 point ago

Same! Who knew, right?

[–]bb_cowgirl 23 points24 points ago

Well fuckkkkkk... If my state no longer exists, then where the hell am I?

[–]eyeofmine79 9 points10 points ago

Fuck..I live close to the i in Bing...

[–]bb_cowgirl 3 points4 points ago

My family is originally from that area. We lived in Imboden. Now we are over in NWA.

[–]Bayirdacus 3 points4 points ago

I have noticed a lot of NEA Redditors lately. Maybe...we aren't all rednecks?

[–]she-said 0 points1 point ago

My grandparents live in Forrest city. There is hope

[–]Jmart24 0 points1 point ago

I'm in SA and have seen quite a few redditors that live here as well lately, that are also not rednecks.I guess we are now living in MO....

[–]eyeofmine79 0 points1 point ago

Go through that town a lot when I go to the lake or Spring River

[–]micdawg12 0 points1 point ago

12 is where its at. F the 01 and 64. Lolol

[–]Kohdella93 0 points1 point ago

I know how you feel. I live under the boot of the 'b'.

[–]NiteShadeX2 3 points4 points ago

Eastern Texabama.

[–]Insomniacwithnolife 1 point2 points ago

Limbo maybe?

[–]wdejr 1 point2 points ago

Welcome to the Show me state!

[–]bb_cowgirl 2 points3 points ago

Ha! Thanks. I actually live about 10 miles south of the Missouri border. We go up there for gas and tobacco because both are a lot cheaper up there!

[–]wdejr 0 points1 point ago

Really? what are the gas prices like there?

[–]Primordium 0 points1 point ago

I too live 10-15 minutes south of the border, a little ways past Omaha. Perhaps I'm not forever alone down here!

[–]bb_cowgirl 0 points1 point ago

Closer to Harrison? I have some good friends that live in Omaha.

[–]CondimentSense 0 points1 point ago

I live about 10 miles south of the Arkansas Missouri border as well! Good ole northwest Arkansas.

[–]pooyip 0 points1 point ago

Well, at least now I don't have to drive all the way up to Thayer for cheap cigarettes.

[–]msstatelp 1 point2 points ago

Welcome to Landmass!

[–]Admiral_Nobeard 1 point2 points ago

We're all a part of a larger Missouri now.

[–]Insideoutwards -1 points0 points ago

Never never land. I would consider it an upgrade myself.

[–]ophello 6 points7 points ago

For those of you who are confused, Arkansas has been replaced with MO for Missouri, and Mississippi and Alabama have been swapped.

[–]opinionated_comment 1 point2 points ago

As a Canadian who knows nothing of US geography, I thank you.

[–]spaceburger 5 points6 points ago

I always knew Arkansas was a myth.

[–]Doctor_Qui 3 points4 points ago

Was there at least a going away party? Did I miss out on free cake?

[–]pickled_ginger[S] 10 points11 points ago

Yeah it's not just Mississippi and Alabama. Check out where Arkansas is supposed to be...

[–]Zachary9 -1 points0 points ago

Put two maps together?

[–]Meeeehhh 5 points6 points ago

I don't know where to look for Arkansas...

[–]Enucks91 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, is this different than normal? What am I looking for? Just for us non-Americans, in case you forgot about us again. :) But it's hilarious that a well known news agency (lol) in your own country misplaced/deleted certain states, if that's what happened.

[–]Guru_of_Reason 17 points18 points ago

Here is what it should look like. AR above LA, and AL and MS switched.

[–]Enucks91 1 point2 points ago

Thanks! Here's an upvote!

[–]roswellthatendswell 0 points1 point ago

It's not just non-Americans. For a Californian like me, well, I had no idea that something was wrong.

[–]redking315 2 points3 points ago

apparently i'm from Mississippi now. Does this also mean that I live in New Orleans by the Alabama River?? SO MANY QUESTIONS!

[–]harDhar 3 points4 points ago

They shouldn't have Bung it.

EDIT: Binged? Bang? Bung? I like Bung.

[–]IsThisShit 0 points1 point ago

as a missourian, im proud that my state has finally eaten Arkansas.

[–]Good_Guy_Graig 0 points1 point ago

Powered by Bing

If I didn't use Google I wouldn't exist...

[–]tynap 2 points3 points ago

As someone who lives in Arkansas, I can confirm that we are still on the map.

[–]Why_areallnamestaken 1 point2 points ago

As someone who lives in Arkansas, I can confirm that we are the only people here who noticed that Missouri invaded us.

[–]frisellan 6 points7 points ago

Don't Arkansas my Missouri

[–]Kristanwj 12 points13 points ago

Don't Missouri my Arkansas!

[–]TheTalkingCamelAnus -1 points0 points ago

Introducing the new flavor from reeses'...

[–]Bellstrom 2 points3 points ago

Ozark!

[–]TheCool170 3 points4 points ago

Not like many of you knew where my state was in the first place

[–]HymenAnnihilator 2 points3 points ago

Fox News isn't exactly batting 1,000 when it comes to: accurately reporting stories, hiring competent non-fundie employees, geography, history, science,.... plus some other stuff.

[–]poliscinerd 1 point2 points ago

Alabama, Mississippi... same thing, right?

[–]not_legally_rape 7 points8 points ago

YOUR ASS THEY ARE! WE'RE 49TH IN EDUCATION AND THOSE BACKWARD-ASS MISSISSIPPI HICKS CAN SUCK OUR SMART DICKS.

[–]shotglass49 -1 points0 points ago

singing happy days are here again, heard Obama and Romney were both there.

[–]yousicklittlemonkey 0 points1 point ago

Mississippi and Alabama also switched spots apparently.

[–]DavidARay 0 points1 point ago

What's an Arkansas?

[–]MYinnerTHOUGHTS 3 points4 points ago

Arkansas is a state located in the Southern region of the United States. Its name is an Algonquian name of the Quapaw Indians.

[–]DavidARay 1 point2 points ago

Sound the Bell... Schools Back In.... Arkansas.

[–]LilGatorGhost -1 points0 points ago

Mississippi and 'Bama are also switch up.... They are bright down there at Fox new....

[–]D13S3L 0 points1 point ago

That's what they get for using Microsoft's Bing map. That must be why MSNBC is so misinformed.

[–]Owlettt 0 points1 point ago

I really think that they do this kind of shit on purpose to keep old white people addled and confused. It is much easier to herd them around that way.

[–]Sarahmint -1 points0 points ago

Someone who works at Fox News LOVES messing with the maps.

[–]troway2223 1 point2 points ago

How do you screw this up? Like how is that possible? You have to try for that.

[–]chris_cr33p 0 points1 point ago

yeah they swapped AL and MS or u did a horrible job with photoshop

[–]Itsmeagainmom 0 points1 point ago

Maybe Arkansas evacuated.

[–]melissarose8585 -1 points0 points ago

They really need more fact checkers. Some of the shit they've let slide was ridiculous, but this is down right horrible. Do they have untrained monkeys working in their offices?

[–]WinnieThePig 0 points1 point ago

Man, I feel so dumb. I was looking for something wrong in Texas or in the writing. Never looked at the other states.......

[–]Dannyg4821 1 point2 points ago

Breaking News: Missouri taking over Arkansas territory

[–]TheDEW 0 points1 point ago

shhh

[–]ResidentWeeaboo 0 points1 point ago

This is why I use Bing!

[–]Kay-the-countrygirl 0 points1 point ago

[–]captainfluffybunny 0 points1 point ago

Probably for the best.

[–]Irishuponastar 1 point2 points ago

Got Dang Arkansas hippie liberals!

[–]Blackflames94 0 points1 point ago

I was there as this was happening

[–]phatboye -1 points0 points ago

New slogan "Fox News, where misinformation lives!"

[–]cafecabrones 0 points1 point ago

Here in North Dakota, North Dakota State University, we had the same problem and we have lots of oil yet, we're not on the news :(

[–]Karalaine 0 points1 point ago

Totally makes sense why there are at least 20+ Walmart's in a 40 mile radius of Springfield, Mo.

[–]Frat_Panda 1 point2 points ago

I posted this in r/funny and got no karma. Why do I even try. Oh wait I'm from Arkansas duh. I don't exist.

[–]candyman420 0 points1 point ago

I mean what the fuck.. how, why? Are they purposely redrawing borders for some reason, is it so difficult to find a stock image of a US map with the right borders?

[–]overthereman 0 points1 point ago

MO needs more room for Jesus.

[–]DonOntario 0 points1 point ago

I'm OK with this.

[–]gobbsnotonboard 0 points1 point ago

This is obviously all Obamas fault

[–]Justice__Beaver 0 points1 point ago

Aren't Alabama and Mississippi a little backwards as well?

[–]145gtw -1 points0 points ago

Arkansas?......You mean other Oklahoma?

[–]jackster999 0 points1 point ago

I'm a Canadian and what is this?

[–]ghuillie98 0 points1 point ago

I hate it when people mix us with Mississippi folk.

[–]DeuceSevin -1 points0 points ago

TIL Bill Clinton lied.

[–]THE_SLAPCHOP 0 points1 point ago

To be honest, I couldn't locate Arkansas on a map.

[–]heavyweather77 0 points1 point ago

All those mistakes... and they got New Mexico right. 505 in the house.

[–]weaver2109 0 points1 point ago

Nah, that's clearly Missouri. You've been looking at the wrong maps.

[–]unicellular 0 points1 point ago

As a Californian, I had no idea what was wrong with this picture until I read through the comments.

[–]Hyperian 0 points1 point ago

where the hell does fox get these maps. www.slightlywrongmaps.com ?

[–]quickdrau 0 points1 point ago

Well it worked Bing, I went to your site and looked at your maps... traffic alerts/construction integrated in is a nice touch...

[–]Memento1979 0 points1 point ago

Someone post a picture for what it's supposed to look like for this Australian?

[–]quaxon 1 point2 points ago

eh, as someone from California Arkansas might as well be Pakistan, no one here can point it out on a map.

[–]DEADBEEFSTA 0 points1 point ago

It's Faux News, none of their viewers will notice the difference, not even the residents of AR.

[–]Espresso77 0 points1 point ago

Serious question: Is this for some political reason that I'm missing or are they just that stupid?

[–]ne99ne 0 points1 point ago

Am I the only one who has to google a US map and compare?

[–]fashioninthe90s 0 points1 point ago

Seems totally legit.

[–]neurone214 0 points1 point ago

I'm from NYC, and I honestly forgot a few of these were states.

[–]chemicool 0 points1 point ago

[–]Libberator 0 points1 point ago

Everything's bigger in Texas... even Texas

[–]southernasshole 0 points1 point ago

Actually it looks like they just changed our name.

We are Missouri now.

[–]Jeezlebauckle 0 points1 point ago

As an arkansan, I hear people constantly saying "I can't even find arkansas on a map, and it drives me insane. Apparently, those are the people who watch Faux News.

[–]DibsArchaeo 1 point2 points ago

Land masses. Land masses, everywhere.

[–]5k1895 -1 points0 points ago

Do you really expect any more from FOX news, though?

[–]COXIMUS 1 point2 points ago

"Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama aren't people"

-Mitt Romney

[–]7FoldSamurai -2 points-1 points ago

why is Arkansas spelt like it is but pronounced Are-can-saw? Its like my name is pronounced Craig but spelt Johnathon, Edit: I dont even get the pic coz Im not a Seppo, you have too many states, cut down a bit next time, k, thanks bye

[–]JSyn25 2 points3 points ago

Your analogy is bad and you should feel bad.

[–]taciturnreserve 0 points1 point ago

It's pronounced that way because it's the English version of the French version of the Native American word for "downstream people".

It's no different from some other place names in other parts of the country derived from Native American place names.

[–]phace_of_phear -3 points-2 points ago

This is Fox news were talking about. They don't expect there viewers to know shit,

[–]escapist11 8 points9 points ago

THEIR

[–]LexAurum -3 points-2 points ago

THIS ISN'T WTF YOU MOUTH BREATHER

[–]Wizardofshiz 0 points1 point ago

I'm sorry this didn't involve blood/gore/nsfw/deformities/etc. But the national news media fucking up the placement of three states is WTF enough for me. 'Merica!

[–]jz88k 0 points1 point ago

Oh god. I wonder who's next?

[–]jhustla -2 points-1 points ago

Yeah I saw that too, genuises over there at Fox...

[–]An0nymauz -3 points-2 points ago

Is it bad that I wouldn't know where Arkansas should be? Despite living in america all my life.

[–]yourwholestyleiswack 6 points7 points ago

Yes, it is bad. Take some time to explore the country with google maps and/or google earth and learn where things are and what they look like.

[–]SG_Dave 0 points1 point ago

Looks more like Arkansas belongs to Missouri. Also I don't see what's wrong with Mississippi and Alabama, but I am a drunk UKer so may be just uneducated in the layout of US states.

[–]Rysdad -2 points-1 points ago

'Bout time.

[–]XSavageWalrusX 0 points1 point ago

fucking bing.

[–]killbot9000 -2 points-1 points ago

They also switched the positions of Alabama and Mississippi.

Fox News is good at smartness.

[–]Seano23 -4 points-3 points ago

I don't get it

[–]dcgh96 3 points4 points ago

Bing happened.

[–]ophello 2 points3 points ago

Arkansas has been replaced with MO for Missouri, and Mississippi and Alabama have been swapped.

[–]Antal_Marius -3 points-2 points ago

WTF fox snooze.....

[–]MrTheodore -2 points-1 points ago

Wow, Montana lost weight after the move!

[–]finchreed201 -2 points-1 points ago

They dOnt know their states huh?
