In most cases, all this means is the dog wants to play with you instead of being alone in the backyard. Being outside is only half the fun if there's no one else out there.

[–]JGL011 114 points115 points ago

what could be better than outside AND master????!!!!!!!

[–]stamatt45 74 points75 points ago

Outside, master, and SQUIRREL!

[–]opus666 18 points19 points ago

Outside, master, squirrel, and a ride in the car with the windows rolled down!

[–]professional_here 14 points15 points ago

Thats how my dog jumped out of the window when I was driving and hurt himself =(

[–]Scops 0 points1 point ago

My dog loves having his head out the window, but I'm so terrified of that happening.

Once when I was stopped at a stop-light, I looked over at the crossing traffic and saw this guy turning away from me. As he turned, his dog ran across his lap and jumped out the window. The man panicked and grabbed his leash. The dog flipped end over end a couple times, then got dragged along the ground through the intersection. Guy ended up rolling onto the grass median and was finally able to get the pup back into the car.

[–]professional_here 1 point2 points ago

Me and my dog were both shaking after it. I was going about 15 mph or so (I'm not sure) and was slowing down to go over a speed bump, and WOOP out he goes. I ran out of my car and he was crying and limping. Didn't know how bad he was hurt, so I just stood there on the side of the road waiting to see how it was and not move him and maybe make it worse. Some lady also stopped and was like "did you find a dog?" and I was like "no hes mine and jumped out of my car!!"

At the park.

[–]JGL011 1 point2 points ago

or in a national forest with master, tent, and fishing pole.

But no moose. Moose spoilsport! Just squirrel, danke.

[–]patefoisgras 0 points1 point ago

This makes me wonder, does the dog need the master to actually play with him or just be around?

[–]JGL011 1 point2 points ago

dogs think we're God. their worlds would have been completely meaningless without their owner, and it is so irrational, because we are negligent and cruel-- but they love us anyways.

we're the epitome of God for dogs-- cruel, yet kind. we provide all, and can take it away. they adore us, yet fear us.

it's a very, very hard role to play. i don't think people understand what it is dogs feel for us. and that makes us bad Gods.

they just want us to love them. it makes their world perfect, in a way that a tangible God would. sometimes i feel anger towards them... their worlds can be perfect, so easily, and ours cannot. sometimes i wonder if that's the basis of animal abuse.

[–]teh_tg 0 points1 point ago

My cat Yasha is most happy with exactly that. Outside AND master! If it stops raining I'll treat him with that.

[–]OnceButNeverAgain 7 points8 points ago

Outside and slave.

FTFY.

[–]shep_20 8 points9 points ago

That explains an awful lot

[–]Erock2 9 points10 points ago

This comment is a repost of a comment on a repost of the picture! My mind is officially blown.

[–]vuxa 4 points5 points ago

Repostception

[–]stferago 25 points26 points ago

[–]Sharobob -2 points-1 points ago

I think that's the point. He reposted a comment on a repost to point out the repost of it all :P

[–]Elbatcho 3 points4 points ago

Time to go participate in the Jolly Ball back yard national championships Boxer puppy league.

[–]URPerfect 3 points4 points ago

I feel like I just understood dogs.

[–]A_Giant_midget 3 points4 points ago

You can only truly understand dogs if you become one with the dogs....

[–]rprebel 5 points6 points ago

I think that's illegal.

[–]el__duderino 1 point2 points ago

Tell that to Ceasar.

[–]rprebel 1 point2 points ago

Not sure if Julius Caesar, Cesar Millan, or a dog named Ceasar.

[–]chemicaltoilet5 2 points3 points ago

I like how you just re-posted the top comment from an older post of this picture.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points ago

You made me feel guilty god dammit.

[–]P00CH00 0 points1 point ago

My dog goes outside with my sister's dog and still does this. She also taps the door every 5 seconds until someone opens it for her.

[–]lethargicwalrus -2 points-1 points ago

Yeah, I feel like some people are just not qualified to have pets.

[–]Calcularius -2 points-1 points ago

absolutely not true for cats.

[–]Zoloir 7 points8 points ago

These dogs are just addicts and despite their greatest attempts, going outside even 1000 times more in a row just cant get you as high as that first big rush from being let outside.

[–]mathius123 -1 points0 points ago

GlaDOS tried to warn him...

[–]luca123 30 points31 points ago

every gerfuffle (OP) in the world:

"gimme OC"

"i need to repost it again"

[–]Hanidalon 36 points37 points ago

Every CAT in the world.

[–]Bunnyhat 39 points40 points ago

Nooo.

Cats will act like they want to go in and out and then stand there while you open the door and walk away.

[–]MF_Kitten 12 points13 points ago

Cats just don't like obstacles being there. They want to be able to move freely should they need to, and they like having an overview of every room and space.

[–]Bipolarruledout 4 points5 points ago

Our cat is not allowed in rooms and I don't play the door game.

[–]Kamakazi1 2 points3 points ago

You monster.

[–]question_all_the_thi 11 points12 points ago

Robert Heinlein's definition of a cat: a being that's always at the wrong side of a closed door. This was in his novel The Door Into Summer.

[–]synaesthetichaze 0 points1 point ago

Great book, one of my favorite time travel stories ever.

[–]RedaBook 1 point2 points ago

Garrison Keillor's In and Out Song describes it perfectly.

[–]haferflocken 17 points18 points ago

"Let me out? Please?"

gets let out

"Nah, didn't wanna go out, let me back in?"

lets back in

"Actually... you know what? I need to be let out again"

haferflocken has mental breakdown and cries

[–]L4cer8 1 point2 points ago

Your dog wanted to play with you!

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]Nyarlathotep124 1 point2 points ago

I've tried that before, they do nothing differently. Wander around, sniff a few bits of ground, then go stand by the door to come inside again.

[–]DerpyWhale 1 point2 points ago

If I even go near the backdoor a poltergeist injects my dog with sugar and he is bouncing off the walls to play.

[–]Lucysgottagrin 1 point2 points ago

I think that's indoor/outdoor animal in the world. They just enjoy watching us get off our lazy asses to open our silly human doors.

You know what's fun? Laughing at a joke you have seen before. Seeing it again is awesome because, hey, it's true and funny.

People who are so big on this "repost" bullshit really take this point thing way too seriously.

I've seen it before, and I'm happy to see it again!

[–]swanky-t 0 points1 point ago

It's not fun when you've seen it 5 times already.

[–]Truth_ 3 points4 points ago

What about a third time? Or tenth? Within a couple months. You can only tell the same joke, share the same story, show off the same picture so many times before it's no longer amusing.

[–]lpisme 2 points3 points ago

Thousands of people join this site on a weekly basis - I am not selfish enough to think I am something special by complaining about something they've likely not seen.

Hundreds of thousands, millions, the numbers are staggering: this is not a secret site, this is one of the most popular sites on the web with tons of unique, first-timers reading daily. I welcome them to the jokes and the fun pictures, just like I felt welcomed when I joined.

I'm well aware that there are "reposts" but why do you care so much? Why...do...you...care...so...much? You are not forced to click, or read, or comment, and yet undoubtedly 9/10 posts have some kind of "repost" comment voted near the top.

We need to, collectively, get over ourselves, and let others enjoy this site too. Do you know why there aren't any hard and fast rules about reposts? Because the moderators, thank god, understand that there are thousands of unique hits daily to the big subreddits and aren't foolish enough to cut off content that those people likely haven't seen. And the rational among us, and light of heart, enjoy seeing jokes we may have seen before.

[–]Truth_ 1 point2 points ago

I care because I'm bored with the content, which I cannot erase. I have to click on it to see what it is. That's when I see that I've seen it seven times already. I also question the motive of the person.

It's extremely easy to put the link into the search bar, or backtrace it on Google to see if it's already been posted. And eventually something must be done. Maybe the OP should post this picture in a new thread every single day to make sure that the tons of unique visitors don't miss out.

[–]DerpyWhale -1 points0 points ago

Why don't you just downvote it and explain why you did so. It's not like someone is going to take your arm off for it.

[–]Truth_ 1 point2 points ago

You'd be surprised.

Also, other people in this thread are being downvoted and scolded for mentioning it's a repost (a seventh time repost? I'd have to scroll for that tracker again).

[–]profound_whatever 1 point2 points ago

Phew, for a second there, I almost enjoyed it.

[–]Kubrik27 -5 points-4 points ago

Who cares if its a fucking repost, shit is funny and worthy of being shown. Its the first time ive seen it.

[–]CaptainNoBoat 5 points6 points ago

Eh, I have no idea what to believe anymore. I used to think the same thing you did... But then I reddited way too much for 10 months, and now I start to recognize reposts like crazy. It's a product of the reddit system; if enough people have not seen it to upvote it, it will be successful.

Do I deserve the reposts I've seen, and should I accept them? - or am I justified in pointing out/discouraging the monotony? I want less-frequent users to enjoy the maximum amount of content, but I want more dedicated redditors to receive more original content.

Such an impass..

[–]navytron -4 points-3 points ago

Apparently I'm redditing wrong because I don't see every post on every subreddit at ALL TIMES.

The repost police are really annoying.

[–]Truth_ -2 points-1 points ago

Then we should all do our part to repost as many things as possible, in case someone hasn't seen it yet and might think it's funny!

[–]Kubrik27 0 points1 point ago

I guess the world revolves around you.

[–]Truth_ -1 points0 points ago

You wanted it posted so you could see it. Sounds like the world revolves around you.

[–]infernal_llamas 2 points3 points ago

Dogflaps that is all.

[–]WiseGuy1020 2 points3 points ago

Except with my dog a human could easily pass through as well.

[–]infernal_llamas 0 points1 point ago

we have that issue, we solve it because no-one is going to stick their head through a dog flap that size as a dog is on the other end of it.

[–]RoonyHD 0 points1 point ago

Burst out laughing, have an upvote.

[–]Foe_Geodude 4 points5 points ago

dont fucking do that, dude.

[–]stormy_star 1 point2 points ago

I laughed, then I couldn't stop looking at his creepy eyes.

[–]jduggs5 0 points1 point ago

My dog will not come in unless i open, shut, then reopen the door.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

He just wanted to play.

[–]NotVerySmarts -1 points0 points ago

Need to throw up.

Then I need to eat it again.

[–]Lt_Ziggella_Stardust 0 points1 point ago

My dog just wants to be where ever I am.

[–]digiSal 0 points1 point ago

Kinda looks like Tommy Lee Jones

[–]rothgnar 0 points1 point ago

That's why we are lucky Apple didn't trademark dog doors.

[–]beliefsarerelative 0 points1 point ago

My dogs are more like "Let me in, I want to be inside all the time, I don't want to go to the bathroom out here, I'll just poop on the rug when you're not looking."

[–]TheLastPureOne 1 point2 points ago

I once went outside my school only to go back in because I realized that I could open both doors and exit like a boss.

[–]toadwarrior 1 point2 points ago

I'm not sure if that's better or worse than "let me in but actually I just want to sit here with the door open".

But I'm especially annoyed by the cat who runs away when I open the door but then walks as slowly as possible to come in and stops while standing in the door way.

[–]Harrison21 0 points1 point ago

God damn dog does this all the freaking time.

[–]VicYesterday 0 points1 point ago

As much as I love my dog, she drives me absolutely mad with this. We go outside, enjoy our time, and then after going back inside, she jumps at the opportunity to go back out.

[–]mkay0 0 points1 point ago

Alternate caption -

Leg me in

I need to shit inside

[–]dangerous_beans 0 points1 point ago

Every dog AND cat in the world.

Unless your cat is like mine, who upon setting foot outside looks at you with horror as if to ask, "WHY WOULD YOU LET ME OUT HERE?"

[–]Spalunking01 0 points1 point ago

So.. What's the deal here? Reposts every 3 or so months getting to the front page.. Unless its all the new members falling prey to seasoned karma hunters..

I don't mind reposts, just not so often..

[–]laela_says -1 points0 points ago

Every time I see this, I upvote

[–]zdstuber 0 points1 point ago

up vote X10000

[–]Thorisgodpoo 0 points1 point ago

Every damn time I fall for this repost!. I still upvoted but he really wants to go back out again, you can see it.

[–]nrbartman 0 points1 point ago

For some reason that dog looks like Matt Damon to me.

[–]mindsfa 0 points1 point ago

I have never had my dog do that, cats on the other hand...

[–]leafsnash61 0 points1 point ago

This picture gets me every time. I love it.

[–]ThePhenix 0 points1 point ago

This is just the best!

[–]bttf32 0 points1 point ago

My dog gets really restless at night. I had to do this for him at least 25 times before he settled down. This took place from 11 P.M. to 2 A.M. I still love him :)

[–]Rosie07789 0 points1 point ago

And every cat in the world.

[–]ekolis 0 points1 point ago

I want to make the squirrels think I'm gone, so I can come back out and surprise them again and chase them away for good! Won't you PLEASE help me in this plan to rid the yard of evil squirrels?

[–]pullarius1 0 points1 point ago

Kind of like closing your browser to open Reddit again.

[–]SpaceCowboysLikePans 0 points1 point ago

[–]MrAdamXD 0 points1 point ago

I think you've got your dogs and cats confused.

[–]SoullessGinger16 0 points1 point ago

My cat does this literally all day every 10 minutes.

[–]betona 2 points3 points ago

My scumbag dog pesters me like crazy, wanting to go out like it's an urgent emergency that he get outside RIGHT NOW.

Once outside, he casually strolls around, sniffing here and there, without a care in the world. Nothing's pressing.

[–]buttercupchico 0 points1 point ago

My dogs do the something! Ecspically when I'm in a hurry!

I have probably seen this exact post on reddit half a dozen times over the course of 8 months and it was probably on reddit dozens of times before I was even a redditor. Remember, reddit is filled with reposts and if you've seen something then it has most likely been circulating around the internet for a long time.
