i never understand why they make these photos deliberately at a perspective that makes them look even taller. it is already the tallest dog in the world. they don't need to exaggerate this, all that does is make it obvious that it isnt as tall as it seems in the image, which if anything takes away from the fact that it is massive. have the woman stood next to it instead of behind it, for goodness sake. p.s. i love dogs.

I remember somewhere reading that the average Great Dane eats about 10 lbs of dog food a day. This monster could double that I am betting.

Screw doggie dishes, just cut an X in the side of the food bag and call it good. I never thought of 20lb dog food bags as single serving...

I have had several average sized Danes. They don't eat 10lbs a day, maybe 5 give or take one or two. Never the less this guy probably eats about 10-15 a day.

It isn't. Their lifespans are tragically short and they have lots of health problems.

I love great Danes, but I think that everytime I see one. Their bodies just can't handle it for the most part.

So cute. This is one of my dogs with our new puppy http://imgur.com/w3Gb2 he likes to mimic them, even though he's the size of their heads. I just always thought it would be so funny to walk a dane and a wiener dog down the street.

I used to have a great dane and a yorkshire terrier at the same time. They made surprisingly good playmates, even in their idea of playing was the terrier jumping in and out of the Great danes mouth.

Aw, another dog finally beat out Giant George?

A great dane is my dream dog, but the biggest single dog I've ever seen in person was an alaskan malamute. He could look down at my bellybutton; I'm still stunned by his size. Quite a difference from looking at a picture of a dog this big to actually seeing it.
