Fuck that shit. Anybody who doesn't like pop/hip-hop drivel isn't allowed any say in music with anything to do with school. On the last religious studies class of the term, we were just hanging out in the classroom. I had to listen to somebody rapping about being a "real nigga" for a whole hour.

Amon Amarth is quite accessible for non-metalheads because each of the songs (at least these from their last albums) have a unique and catchy melody (i.e. War of The Gods). That's why it's called melodic death metal. On the other hand, The Crusher and The Avenger are a lot heavier (not to mention their demos, Arrival of The Fimbul Winter is fucking brutal), they're more death than melodic and that's why people unfamiliar with this genre tend to call it "senseless screams and roaring" etc. etc.

Dis true. I played my girlfriend some shuffled music on my iPod, the first time she was ever exposed to the kind of music I like. Amon Amarth came up. Was it something from With Oden On Our Side or Twilight of the Thunder God? Noooooo, it's was something from their early days, stuff even I don't listen to.

I'm hearing all sorts of things sort of ... from Jpop and Kpop to jazz to funk, e-funk to 70 and 80 and 90, the only thing I do not hear is current music, popular music in a sense " blow my whistle baby " .
