I disagree because I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying. I have not defined anything and I think your analogy with Van Persie and Drogba doesn't fit.

My issue with clint is two fold: 1.) I think he is a tool...I think this is a subjective thing. I find him arrogant and disrespectful of players...maybe not to everyone all the time, but I have seen enough of this in enough games to formulate an opinion. I just think he is a tool.

Point 2, was that I was responding to someone who called him a great player simply because he scored 17 goals for Fulham. It was only in that context that I said his 17 goals are not impressive simply because every single opportunity that Fulham had went to him. The same is not the case with Drogba as when he was on Chelsea, there were many other talented goal scorers on the team. That leads to situations where 3, 4, 5 or more talented players share in the goal scoring opportunities, instead of one player dominating all of them.

So if Drogba was the only skilled player on Chelsea and he scored only 17 goals, your analogy would make sense - but as it stands now, I just don't see it.

For example, look at last years totals...dempsey is at 17...ahead of Dzeko, Balotelli, Cisse, Lampard, Suarez and many more who are considerably better players. Does that mean he is better than all of them? No - because scoring goals doesn't always equate with having great skill.

That's why I mentioned what I did regarding the goal scoring...Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli are all playing forwards on the same team which makes getting high scoring totals much more difficult than if you are the one and only player who gets to attempt shit.

I disagree that being alone made it more difficult because it allowed defenses to focus on you and shut you down because I saw nothing like that happening. EPL doesn't have respect for Dempsey to the level that they game plan specifically to stop him.
