Have a cool picture/story/program/comic that you took/wrote/wrote/drew? Feel free to show it off here and see what your fellow redditors think.

Posting rules:

  • Submissions must be something you or a close non-redditor friend/relative made. Someone close enough to answer questions when they pop up.

  • Discussion is important to our community, so please stick around to answer any questions people might have about your process. You will also probably get some useful feedback if you do.

  • Selling work through /r/somethingimade is fine as long as you follow the previous rule.

  • If you're looking for help making something, please submit question posts to a different subreddit like /r/diy, /r/crafts, etc.

  • Upvote things if they're cool

  • Downvote things if they break the rules (but make sure to leave a comment explaining)

Posting suggestions

Some online stores don't provide very good images of the final product (and certainly none of the process) and they don't play well with RES which a lot of redditors use. If you're submitting a link from Etsy, you might have better success here linking to an Imgur album and providing an etsy link in the comments.

Etiquette:

Cool content is hard to create, and a lot of our users pour a lot of time and energy into their work. Please keep all comments positive. We like to foster an environment where users don't have to fear being criticized for something that they put a lot of work into. If we scare off these users, we'll miss out on all their awesome content.

If you don't like a particular post, offer constructive criticism that can help the creator improve his or her craft.

Please report all harshly critical comments.

When I first saw this I thought you cracked your phone on purpose! I'm glad I was mistaken and that you just made something cool out of a shitty situation : )

[–]JediMasterBrittany 19 points20 points ago

How did you do this?

[–]theNYEHHH[S] 35 points36 points ago

I am clumsy and dropped my phone a while back, so the cracks were made when I dropped it.

Go over the cracks with color sharpies and wipe off the extra with a damp paper towel as you go(Sharpie does not stick well to the glass.) :)

To make it more permanent you could put some sort of film over it, maybe a product like invisishield or something.

I love the idea of using an invisishield on the cracks

Brilliant

That's wicked awesome.

This might make people intentionally crack their phones.

I wasn't sure if OP hadn't until I came to the comments.

Holy shit that looks cool.

If I had a white iPhone I would be very tempted to do this.

[–]Dragontattoo8678 1 point2 points ago

If you had a black iPhone you could use wet erace markers and seal it with something (wet erace markers show up on black very vividly) :) but I'm not gonna shatter my iPhone to try.

It would look prettier if the cracks covered the whole surface, IMO.

edit: forgot to make sense

I'm glad I don't have an Iphone or I would be trying to do this. I'd buy a clear case, though.
