Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports). "Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

"Generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission.

Oh I remember the green gui but I do not recall having any problems with steam even from launch.

Seriously? I can remember when they first released the steam thing and playing CS / updating patches were a NIGHTMARE. People were saying steam was the worst thing since Hitler. Look at it now! Oh, and who could forget the infamous 99.9% crash that happened so often.

Yeah seriously Steam for me has worked fine since it came out. In the early days it was 99% the users problem, either malware or a improperly maintained computer or people not knowing what they are doing. Now I am not saying it did not have any problems because it did but none that affected me. Either I am lucky or if something broke I soon fixed it which was rare.

Well did you play Counter Strike around steams release? I think this is where most of the problems were. Its pretty well known, its even on the steam wiki xD :

The Steam client was first made available for download in 2002 during the beta period for Counter-Strike 1.6. At that time, its primary function was streamlining the patch process common in online computer games. Installation and use of Steam was mandatory for Counter-Strike 1.6 beta testers, but Steam remained an optional component. 80,000–300,000 gamers tested the system when it was in its beta period.[109][111] The system and web site choked under the strain of thousands of users simultaneously attempting to play the latest version of Counter-Strike

Who's old enough to remember five years ago?

Now now, let's be nice. Not everyone was between the ages of 15~25 five years ago. Maybe the OP is 70 or something :P
