One team would have to score to end the game, otherwise it would continue on infinitely. This is, of course, according to the American endless innings rules. (Via Japanese rules there is a 12 inning limit.) So, assuming this is true, there could not be a double perfect game. So, there can be a minimum of 27 strikeouts (to maintain a one sided perfect game) but an indefinite maximum.

To conclude, we can assume that this game had 27 strikeouts but we cannot be certain it had 54.

Best thing i heard from the Onion was an NPR behind the scenes. The writers were sitting around coming up with funny headlines. All the head lines are met with general amusement.....One writer suggests the headline "Gay Retard Teased" IT was met with an eruption from the other writers.......They decided not to run it.
