This was my day yesterday. Shitty day at work and then had a tire blow out on the interstate. Changed it on the side of the interstate, maybe three feet away from the rumble strip when a semi had drifted over the line and ran over the rumble strip right by me. I had my back turned towards my car (the tire) and to hear that noise directly behind me nearly caused me to piss myself

It's true, full leathers help keep all the blood and bone fragments in the suit for easier cleanup.

Don't get me wrong, bikes are awesome, but leathers are there for when you drop your bike or have to drop your bike. Bike vs car= death, mutilation, etc.

To be fair, it's more like bike vs. car, tree, guard rail, brick wall, curbs, gravel, wet pavement, wet pavement combined with shitty roadpaint... the list goes on. That said, one can go through life safely and find they never really lived, and for me, not riding would be a life un-lived. That may change when I have children who depend on me bringing in a paycheck and being there for them, though, I can't imagine I wouldn't start again after they're grown up.

Unfortunately there really is with this one, its a Volvo estate that's done 200k and is starting to show it. I've got a list of jobs that would need doing if I were to keep it and it adds up to well over £500.

Considering the fact that its a 2litre petrol and an inefficient one at that I definitely see it as a much better decision to get rid of it and pick up a cheap diesel.

For that I need a few more hundred though. :)

Exactly my end-of-last week into this week. Car died. Can't afford a new car without a co-signer. I live out of state from all my family and friends, so my car is just sitting at the car dealership broken down, and I have no way to get there to pick it up (if it would even start). And taking the bus and/or walking to or from school is dangerous business where I live right now. End rant.

I feel for you. My weekend consisted of: my jaw popping around so my bite is now off and no matter how much hot cold therapy I try it won't go back into place, and, to top it off I went to close my car door and the window fell off its track. However, all things get better with time!
