What are you trying to tell me? I can dodge downvotes?

[–]LegHumper 415 points416 points ago

No Neo. When you have enough karma, you won't have to.

[–]Anikdote 97 points98 points ago

There is no karma

[–]TheAmazingMart 37 points38 points ago

Surprisingly relevant analogy

[–]LutetiumJ 7 points8 points ago

My name... is Karma.

[–]combzy89 7 points8 points ago

You mean to tell me?

[–]atl2rva 3 points4 points ago

That's not true, that's impossible!

[–]mikesmith2922 2 points3 points ago

If you spend enough time, you realize there is no karma

[–]Potential_Pandemic 54 points55 points ago

Change them to upvotes for when someone posts something that could have been a gold mine, but fuck up the delivery.

[–]i_am_andy 19 points20 points ago

I was thinking leave them as downvotes and it can be for when someone starts out really awful but ends up making a good point by the end.

[–]Bad_muffin8 2 points3 points ago

Or when someone says something stupid, but then clarifies or fixes it in an edit or another comment

[–]Potential_Pandemic 1 point2 points ago

Whynotboth.gif

[–]Kruschevez 0 points1 point ago

I had a moment like that once. Got into a shitty "argument" because someone decided to take one of my comments a little too seriously and personal. I expected to be downvoted to oblivion with the obvious-troll comments I was replying with; I ended up with 20 more karma than when I started and they guy would delete his previous comments to stem the downvotes he was getting.

[–]CptNasty 0 points1 point ago

Also, it could be turned into two different versions. First the upvotes are hanging there, then as they drop they turn into downvotes. Then the opposite.

Edit- I meant to basically say that this gif is really cool because it could be interpreted in many ways. Then you could alter it in many ways and then it would mean even more things.

Op must be... the GIFmaker! The Mods are already on their way, we must protect him.

[–]thesauceisboss 30 points31 points ago

Use it when a people are calling bullshit on an OP, then the OP delivers and provides proof for whatever.

[–]FreEarl 4 points5 points ago

This. It seems like a good way to express not giving a fuck about haters and downvotes.

[–]grae313 178 points179 points ago

I prefer the simplicity of OP's.

[–]thisissamsaxton 113 points114 points ago

I prefer the size and clarity of OP's, and the way they fall, but I like the longer scene.

[–]pilvy 2 points3 points ago

It's basically a TL:DR for gifs, TL:DW if you will.

[–]nolarbear 62 points63 points ago

I like them both, for different reasons!

[–]biitchhplease 54 points55 points ago

[–]nolarbear 21 points22 points ago

[–]Edgar4llanPwn 14 points15 points ago

The world is beautiful

[–]Klax0r 4 points5 points ago

Awww... how can you disagree with that? :)

[–]X2ander 0 points1 point ago

Probably exactly what General Mills's marketing team was thinking when it was pitched.

[–]WubU2 18 points19 points ago

And the physics.

[–]TripperDay 43 points44 points ago

No that takes WAY too long. gifs aren't supposed to be videos. We have videos for that.

[–]Berg_Zoid 14 points15 points ago

why

[–]TripperDay 41 points42 points ago

cuz

[–]SlayerOfDragons 3 points4 points ago

cuz what?

[–]SSlartibartfast 6 points7 points ago

cuz why

[–]donpapillon 0 points1 point ago

cuz where

[–]aloha2436 0 points1 point ago

over there. cuz.

[–]blaw_blaw 11 points12 points ago

Yeah, well, that's just like your opinion man.

[–]takes_too_long 1 point2 points ago

the upvote in his eye followed by the upvote matrix made me laugh

[–]St3ven83 15 points16 points ago

So, am i a spoon?

[–]CodeGirlUK 12 points13 points ago

You can be the big spoon.

[–]j2cool -2 points-1 points ago

[–]Wohowudothat 10 points11 points ago

There is no spoon.

[–]photo 61 points62 points ago

I suggest when they're frozen, make them upvotes, and when he drops them they turn into downvotes.

[–]feeblemuffin 47 points48 points ago

that would suggest a totally different situation, though. in this instance downvotes are being rejected, as opposed to upvotes.

[–]arcticmailman 20 points21 points ago

Whoa.

[–]Hyperdrunk 6 points7 points ago

No reason we can't have a gif ready for both.

[–]YO_DAT_SHIT_CRAY 0 points1 point ago

THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!

[–]midgetfury 7 points8 points ago

Maybe when someone seems like they should get downvoted, but give a valid reason not to be downvoted.

[–]PlatonicTroglodyte 4 points5 points ago

"I know I am going to get downvoted for this, but..."

[–]APinchOfSanity 6 points7 points ago

"my brother once told me that nothing someone says before the word 'but' really counts"

[–]takes_too_long 0 points1 point ago

if you add an extra t to but sometimes it counts

[–]yuno10 -1 points0 points ago

Sadly no one has ever said nor will ever say such a sentence on reddit.

[–]mr_styx 10 points11 points ago

use it for all those times someone gets downvotes and then somebody else asks why they are getting downvoted so reddit starts upvoting them.

[–]HeroOT 3 points4 points ago

"I don't know why people are down voting this" makes point. I like this usage

[–]Shway1000000 4 points5 points ago

What if I said "Look at that faggot over there" and showed you this

[–]_GrayScale_ 3 points4 points ago

you could use it next time someone gets caught lying.

[–]Vorpalbunnie 3 points4 points ago

I'm thinking the opposite, when someone is proven. (or subredditdrama'd)

[–]brokendimension 0 points1 point ago

That's what I was thinking.

[–]peanutbutterspacejam 2 points3 points ago

This is when someone tries proving you wrong, but then you drop an edit proving them wrong thus destroying the downvotes and cashing in on the good karma.

[–]Kris_Carter 1 point2 points ago

"OH..you downvoted me?" "Not a Fuck was given"

[–]MagicKnights 1 point2 points ago

turn them into upvotes, then have them freeze and drop as downvotes. Use it for a terrible punch line, or someone lying, or just in general when you get to the end of a post or link and you decide you fucking hate it now.

[–]GoodguyGerg 0 points1 point ago

someone posted a way better and longer one of the same scene, it was front page for a bit

[–]spyderp-man 0 points1 point ago

I think it'd be something that you were about to downvote, but suddenly you realize it's awesome... or something

[–]KeYz666 0 points1 point ago

I can see it being used in a "When you see it post" after the user was looking around for a long time and is about to give a down vote out of frustration, then sees "it".

[–]supasuit3 0 points1 point ago

Check it! i.minus.com/ibtpjLRatRkRhh.gif

[–]Mickeroo 0 points1 point ago

You should have them coloured as upvotes but when they fall turn to downvotes.

[–]Fulmetalmaster 0 points1 point ago

Making a completely badass comeback to someone insulting your post.

[–]Cameronious 0 points1 point ago

I recon this would be a good reaction .gif for when a comment is edited for great justice!

[–]gerntoronto 1 point2 points ago

It would be good if they were all upvotes. Then it can be used in the context of a post doing well until the OP makes a dumb comment and reddit turns on him.

[–]Sirdannykins 0 points1 point ago

posting something that would normally get down voted to hell, but it doesn't?

[–]ckrider64 1 point2 points ago

never...this will never come in handy

[–]wwhateverr 0 points1 point ago

This is perfect for all those posts that say, "I know I'm going to be downvoted for this . . .", but then they have a ton of upvotes.

[–]Master_rave1029 0 points1 point ago

Could be used for posting an unpopular opinion.

[–]fistymcbuttpuncher 0 points1 point ago

For when someone posts something the hivemind thinks is wrong and downvotes. Then the OP defends his post with facts and/or proves the hivemind wrong. Thus, "blocking" the downvotes and dropping them to the floor.

[–]jamesdaily 0 points1 point ago

You could probably use it when you actually have a good comeback. Other than that I have no earthly idea.

[–]bowhunter6274 0 points1 point ago

It'll come in handy when you comment on your own post.

[–]NoonToker17 0 points1 point ago

I just watched that shit last night

[–]shadowx19 0 points1 point ago

You need to edit it so they start as upvotes, then the disappointment kicks in

[–]Azahk101 0 points1 point ago

I'd say this could be used when you see a comment with so many down votes you're too ashamed to look at it

[–]mortalum 0 points1 point ago

Novelty accounts.

[–]SaikoGekido 2 points3 points ago

Here's how to find a way to use this gif:

Step 1: Repost something that was fairly popular, but not too popular that everyone saw it or too situational that the moment has passed.

Step 2: Wait to amass enough karma from people that never saw it before. This may not work on the first attempt, so you might need to dig further in the past for a good repost.

Step 3: Watch the comments and wait for the inevitable douche that points out reposts to be upvoted to the top. Then, reply with this gif.

Step 4: In a perfect world, your gif would receive upvotes from the sudden realization of thousands of redditors, that the true purpose of the repost was this gif. Then, I don't know, drink their tears or laugh maniacly.

[–]shphunk 0 points1 point ago

It would be better if they started out as upvotes

[–]Givants 0 points1 point ago

"When a shitty post makes it to the front page."

[–]CraigRoxwel 0 points1 point ago

Can you make one of Chang from The Goods, the part where he opens the bank bag and get splattered in the face with blue paint?

[–]Sandmanifest 1 point2 points ago

When OP reaches the front page, and all the comments are about how shitty the post is.

[–]newyork2012 0 points1 point ago

How you make this???

[–]mushroomwig[S] 0 points1 point ago

Photoshop to make the gif and Fireworks for the rest.

[–]german80 1 point2 points ago

I think this should be used for downvote-proof posts such as Neil DeGrasse Tyson/Gabe Newell/Neil Patrick Harris -doing anything posts.

[–]Kluqui 0 points1 point ago

This is absolutely perfect for when it is obvious that a post has had negative karma, because an answer to that comment has been posted questioning its parent's negative karma, and later the parent comment becomes massively upvoted for good content.

[–]dudewhoisnotfunny 1 point2 points ago

Probably for an AMA when everyone thinks OP is lying but then provide proof.

[–]gingembrebiscuit 0 points1 point ago

When someone delivers.

Everyone would go to downvote...but they suddenly deliver, thus avoiding the downvotes.

[–]sumant_neo -1 points0 points ago

What movie is this from?

[–]illme 0 points1 point ago

I can use that. More often than I'd like to admit.

[–]iheartbakon 1 point2 points ago

[–]Adicogames 0 points1 point ago

when u make an statement the u think people dislike, but they don't downvote u.

[–]BlaqkJak 0 points1 point ago

You should make one where he is fighting all the Agent Smiths with the metal pole. But they are all upvote arrows. :-O

[–]kehoeman 0 points1 point ago

These gifs are ruining reddit.

[–]Wolfman51 0 points1 point ago

Perfect context for this gif "How I feel editing a spelling error before anyone notices it"

[–]knoxblox 0 points1 point ago

clearly this is when you try to downvote the front page.

[–]Dalek-SEC 0 points1 point ago

Hmm, I would have done the full scene, but otherwise good job.

[–]cool_and_froody 0 points1 point ago

use it when a seemingly unbelievable story or celebrity is confirmed varified

[–]supertrekie 0 points1 point ago

Hmmm... upgrades.

[–]LargeDan 0 points1 point ago

gradual pro wrestler

[–]Spritzo 0 points1 point ago

I was bored and wanted attention. I don't know if I'll get any attention though.

[–]KaptainKarmel 0 points1 point ago

These are getting lazier. . .

[–]zimbabwe7878 1 point2 points ago

for when you are being downvoted and realize that they are fake internet points.

[–]MisterJhones -2 points-1 points ago

People could use it when they are getting down voted like crazy for an accusation of sorts. But then they prove the accusations wrong and stop the down votes!!! (with Neo's mind powers)

[–]TripperDay 0 points1 point ago

I'm going to say marijuana is a gateway drug and /r/atheism is awesome, then add that gif as an edit.

[–]FriisAnon -2 points-1 points ago

Just name it "When Chuck Norris gets downvoted". Harvest karma.

[–]Random_Fandom 0 points1 point ago

If you had honestly made it

Wait, are you referring to the idea, or the gif itself? OP's animation is different from the longer one.

[–]bnj7146 2 points3 points ago

"Goes back and double checks"

...

Well, time to go kill myself in shame

[–]Random_Fandom 1 point2 points ago

Eh, don't worry. None of us are perfect. :)

[–]redditorsinnombre 0 points1 point ago

Let's all downvote the shit out of this so it speaks for itself

[–]healcannon -3 points-2 points ago

I got food poisoning the other day........I'm not sure when i'm gonna use it.

[–]flumkaka -4 points-3 points ago

So brave.

[–]overused-meme-alert 0 points1 point ago
