Yep, as far as my understanding they believe that life begins at conception, which never happens with blowjobs.

However, I was taught of sects or groups that believe that anything other than sex for procreation is 'wasting the seed of life' which was why they didn't believe condoms should be used.

And a blowjob is a form of sodomy anyway, which those good proper Christians should be against as well.

A fertilized egg has 46 chromosomes, and has all the ingredients necessary to start being a human. It starts dividing into more and more cells, and it will become a person if allowed to continue on its path.

Sperm cells only contain 23 chromosomes. They will never become a human life on their own: they must fertilize an egg first.

Although it should be noted that in many cases (perhaps as many as 50% of pregnancies, I was reading) this does not happen. "Chemical pregnancies" are very common, and miscarriages, while less common due to advanced medicine do also occur.

But I agree with the general gist of your argument, and I am also a non-religious pro-life person (although to be fair I don't think banning all abortion is a practical idea).

I am pretty much in agreement with you, but I want to bring another perspective to the table:

How well is a prohibition on post-20-weeks abortion likely to work? I know that banning all abortions full stop has terrible effects on society and results in a loss of social cohesion, neglected kids, broken marriages and lots and lots of unsafe, illegal backyard abortions.

If you can encourage people to get it done early, that's the most important thing. If somebody wants to commit infanticide, let them risk their own life to do so.

It's a moot point to me; if we don't want conscious minds being wiped out, you have to have a law to stop it. Killing a person with a working brain is murder, and should be enforced like murder.

Banning all abortions without any consideration for what is really a crime is obviously a stupid and dangerous affair, hopefully people are smart enough to see the difference and the reasoning behind limiting the date after which this can occur.

No. At 20 weeks the fetus doesn't even have well developed autonomic nervous control. It certainly has no higher functioning processes, its cortex isn't developed yet.
