Glad to know I wasn't the only one who thought "If you say so," whenever teachers say three stars equal a ram.

The guy on the left (Mr. Not-George-Michael) has a look on his face that says, "Holy shit, I can't believe people pay us for this shit."

Hey woody, what'd your favorite part about sex?

"The ram part."

[–]acdcfanbill 5 points6 points ago

Ah, the rare Airdale Ram.

Still trying to determine what the fuck she was even doing before it rammed her.

[–]Jfolcik 8 points9 points ago

She's doing a dance called, "the accutane".

[–]mrfrownieface 5 points6 points ago

Judging by the petting zoo she is located and current pop culture trends, I have cleverly deduced she is "tripping balls" on ecstasy.

[–]HellsNels 1 point2 points ago

[–]HellsNels 0 points1 point ago

Bonus! Ram

[–]vteckickedin 2 points3 points ago

Whoa ho! Memory IS RAM!

[–]Superhomework 17 points18 points ago

[–]ShakeweightPro 1 point2 points ago

I like where this all went.

[–]therestruth 0 points1 point ago

Never before and never again will I click so many links of RAM. My link history is so fucked up. I was expecting the one with the actual animal to be after the truck. It was. Eventually.

[–]jettrscga 4 points5 points ago

Oh good. It comes with a clip-on strap.

[–]awesomedan24 2 points3 points ago

Timmy, I'm respecting your privacy by knocking but asserting my authority as your father by coming in anyway.

[–]danman348 104 points105 points ago

What if it actually looks that detailed but we can't see it in this day and age because of all the light pollution.

[–]bretticusmaximus 19 points20 points ago

Went out to the Grand Canyon on a tour recently. We started in Vegas, so it took awhile to get there and back. On our way back, it was late and dark. Our driver stopped on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere and told us to get out and look up. It was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. Hundreds and hundreds of stars, plus the "milky way." Absolutely gorgeous, and something I'd never seen even growing up in a fairly rural area.

[–]Krypt0night 4 points5 points ago

only hundreds and hundreds huh?

[–]drachenstern 12 points13 points ago

Here's how to make that view better: sex.

[–]ivosaurus 9 points10 points ago

Thanks for telling us what's on your mind.

[–]drachenstern 2 points3 points ago

I can see you've never had sex under the milky way.

You're missin out.

[–]Sir_paddles 2 points3 points ago

I used to drive a tractor in the wee hours of the night in the middle of no where. A few nights I'd have a lady with me. I can attest to the glory of having unadulterated space above you while you screw.

[–]jackcreambun 1 point2 points ago

That sounds like farmer porn to me.

[–]dhmachine86 4 points5 points ago

50 Shades of Hay?

[–]BrandenKP 0 points1 point ago

50 shades of neigh

[–]zap-throwaway- 1 point2 points ago

There are somewhere over 6000 stars visible to the naked eye from Earth. So, from any point on Earth you can see a little over 3000 stars on average. Of course, weather and eye conditions can affect that number.

[–]Audiovore 41 points42 points ago

Nice try, Keanu.

[–]Zeitgeist420 2 points3 points ago

Light pollution is like 1/3 of the problem. The overly creative imaginations of generations of humans without shit to do is the other 2/3 imo.

[–]thetateman 74 points75 points ago

The only ones I could remember were the little and big dipper and orion's belt

[–]AntiZombieDelta 40 points41 points ago

Don't lie... the only reason you can find Orion's Belt is MIB, isn't it?

[–]Lorahalo 156 points157 points ago

It's mostly because it's just a straight line of 3 bright stars.

[–]WikeyWo 23 points24 points ago

Only one I can ever find at night.

[–]Lorahalo 20 points21 points ago

I can find the Southern Cross, but the US doesn't really get that one.

[–]WikeyWo 10 points11 points ago

I've never even heard of that one until just now.

[–]Lorahalo 12 points13 points ago

It's the one on the Australian flag, for an easy reference.

[–]WikeyWo 5 points6 points ago

Oh, true. So that's what the stars on Australia's flag meant. Thanks.

[–]StorminNorman 3 points4 points ago

Partly true. The Southern Cross is on there as is another random star with a point for each state and territory we have...

[–]mazinger_z 1 point2 points ago

The flag of Brazil represents the stars above Rio and among them, the Southern Cross. Also one star for each state.

[–]astrawnomore 0 points1 point ago

The stars on the Subaru logo are the Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters.

Subaru is the Japanese name for the Pleiades star cluster, which in turn inspires the Subaru logo and alludes to the six companies that merged to create FHI. source

[–]bryntheskits 3 points4 points ago

NZ'der here, what does the big fuck-off one mean?

[–]mistweave 2 points3 points ago

7 states and territories? Don't you guys have a big fuck off one too? only in red?

on that note, why are your stars red? Is it a social commentary on the nihilism of the human experience as all the starts are red-shifted hence moving away from us? Or rather an expose on how our world will end in the fiery heart of a red giant sol?

[–]bryntheskits 2 points3 points ago

Ohhh.

Nah, we just have the four stars in more or less the same position as you. And yeah they are red. Aaaaaaand I'll pick the first explanation, that's cooler then the leading theories of

The first is that the colour red was important to Maori to represent mana. The second is that using red stars with white edges makes them echo the Union Jack.

[–]976chip 0 points1 point ago

Sure we do. It plays on classic rock stations all the time.

[–]sharkbait_oohaha 0 points1 point ago

so not much stargazing for you lately, eh? Good news though! It's getting time for Orion to come back out!

[–]Jonny_Watts 0 points1 point ago

Am I the only one to think of the Orion Nebula as being in the spot of where his penis would supposedly be?

[–]saturnelia 7 points8 points ago

Yes, I've read XKCD.

[–]Jonny_Watts -1 points0 points ago

Shit, I thought I was the only one.

To be fair, this thought first entered my head when my dad bought me an astronomy atlas circa 2004.

[–]joysofpi 6 points7 points ago

where new stars are born

[–]Jonny_Watts 1 point2 points ago

Billions of billions

[–]majortato 0 points1 point ago

when I point out orion to people...I always refer to that as orion's penis

[–]Infinicity -1 points0 points ago

[–]scorpion347 0 points1 point ago

Slight curve actually.

[–]illmatic707 5 points6 points ago

no

[–]TheLastBadger 4 points5 points ago

Or because it's a fucking line of stars.

[–]ohsuls 7 points8 points ago

None of those are constellations. They're called asterisms.

[–]nomlah 1 point2 points ago

wait... you can find the dippers AND orions belt?

Isn't the big dipper just a part of orion?

[–]akanthos 1 point2 points ago

Don't forget the big and little dipsters.

[–]Fushigidane 1 point2 points ago

I see the French Revolution.

[–]NotTheStalker 28 points29 points ago

Not enough surrendering

[–]scorpion347 8 points9 points ago

Are you American? Cuase they kinda trained our first army and saved that army during our revolution.

[–]SenorOcho 1 point2 points ago

Friedrich von Steuben was French?!

:)

[–]scorpion347 0 points1 point ago

No, he helped too... but mostly becuase he hated the mercs hired to fight us.

[–]Forhavu 5 points6 points ago

Too much brave.

[–]Jealousy123 -4 points-3 points ago

No that had mostly guns, not swords/spears.

Taken from South Park "Roger Ebert Should Lay Off the Fatty Foods"

Glad no one on reddit cares about crediting sources . .

[–]rattlemebones 0 points1 point ago

I knew I saw it on either South Park or Family Guy...

[–]NovelTeaAccountant -1 points0 points ago

I'm willing to bet OP is Australian, this episode was on the other day.

Another repost

[–]Trewq343 15 points16 points ago

Reminds me of Skyrim...

Looks like somebody grew up in the city and has never seen a night sky. The constellations are more than the component stars, they are massive clouds of gas and dust that form the imagery imagined by ancient astronomers. The clouds have changed dramatically over a few thousand years, but the basic outlines still make sense.

Seriously though, next Friday, drive to the least populated area of your state/country, nap through the evening, then wake up around midnight and look at the stars. It will be a life-changing experience for you. Spend your whole weekend in bumfuck nowhere and just wait for the nights so you can stargaze. Take a girl with you and probably get laid as well.

[–]KinRiso 2 points3 points ago

As someone who has lived in bumfuck nowhere their whole life, some people just suck at associating shapes with random patterns of dots.

[–]goldblob3 2 points3 points ago

this is a repost

[–]penutk 3 points4 points ago

And this post over hear... is a repost

[–]CashMoneyChina 3 points4 points ago

Hasn't this been reposted maybe 5 times now?

[–]ivosaurus 6 points7 points ago

It was probably a tiny bit darker out when they were naming them.

(hence a shit load more stars to see and get ideas from)

[–]lethargicwalrus 26 points27 points ago

The repost is strong in this submission.

[–]Blakdragon39 15 points16 points ago

So strong, that this link was purple before I got here.

[–]lethargicwalrus 7 points8 points ago

You're a brave soul for keeping your internet history for two months.

[–]Blakdragon39 2 points3 points ago

There's really nothing to hide on my computer. The only other person who could access my history is my boyfriend, if he even remembers the password to my computer, and if he's searching my internet history, there's probably a bigger problem to deal with. :P

[–]IAmA_god_AMA 2 points3 points ago

Incognito mode bro

[–]DeathToPennies 0 points1 point ago

I've been trying to save my history for as long as humanly possible. I started about a month ago. NSFW pages and all. No incognito here.

I wonder how this is going to screw me later.

[–]poop22_ 32 points33 points ago

[–]Dem0n5 13 points14 points ago

It adds so much to the discussion, so I don't mind comments about reposts. I'm going to name my kid after lethargicwalrus for his amazing contribution.

[–]flinxsl 1 point2 points ago

So basically your kid's name is going to be a repost.

[–]Dracovitch 0 points1 point ago

Ah yes, one of my favorite moments from one of my favorite episodes. This and when they snap Officer Barbrady out of his Elvis Phase "Thank you for saving me from a fate worse then death."

[–]mandano 1 point2 points ago

So what you're saying is you've never been outside the city and looked up at night. It's amazing how many stars one can see without that shit ton of light pollution

[–]lobstilops 0 points1 point ago

Seems legit

[–]revel5150 0 points1 point ago

Pre TV/Internet years. Man. People did stuff like this. I heard they even came up with a book full of bullshit... Animals in boats. Parting the sea. Virgins having babies...
