mmm COD4

[–]pdmcmahon 22 points23 points ago

Crap, now I want to go play that map.

[–]Evantron 39 points40 points ago

The mission, man! All Ghillied Up and One Shot, One Kill were the greatest video game millions missions ever!

Edit: Messed up a word

[–]pdmcmahon 21 points22 points ago

All Ghillied Up was the shit, but I could make a fucking BLT while waiting for those troops and tanks to go by.

[–]DemanRisu -1 points0 points ago

I could never get through AGU.

[–]Aavagadrro 2 points3 points ago

Saw the pic and thought, "Man how many people have I killed right where she is standing and in the swimming pool?

[–]ChappyWagon 3 points4 points ago

Despite not evening being a COD fan, I instantly went back to that mission. I only played through that one time, but I remember that map the most.

[–]AKnightAlone 2 points3 points ago

After many many a day worth of CoD training, I could probably not return to that level and beat the ferris wheel defense area easily. One of my most feared moments in all of single-player CoDing.

[–]habitats 0 points1 point ago

Actually thought of that before I read the title :o Man how I love that game.

"Fifty-Thousand people use to live here... now... its a ghost town"

[–]bigblacknips 1 point2 points ago

I read that in the voice and everything.

[–]Blan21 11 points12 points ago

One of my favorite images. As a huge fan of both the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and Chernobyl itself, I decided to make it my wallpaper on my laptop.

My desktop and laptop screenshots

[–]pxtang 2 points3 points ago

Rainmeter! :D

[–]Blan21 1 point2 points ago

Awww yiss. Also, I made many of the icons for the programs on both desktops myself. It makes me feel special.

[–]pxtang 2 points3 points ago

Oh snap. You're awesome.

[–]lolmonger 1 point2 points ago

So, what base Rainmeter/programs did you use?

[–]Blan21 1 point2 points ago

  • The Enigma skin for rainmeter
  • The Start Orb Changer to change the start menu button
  • GIMP to make the icons that I made myself
  • IcoFX to make my own taskbar icons. The ones I didn't make I googled

[–]lolmonger 0 points1 point ago

Thanks, dude!

[–]Trinax 1 point2 points ago

What's the first one?

[–]Trinax 1 point2 points ago

Awesome thanks! I like yours better =)

[–]kentucky_mcnugget 9 points10 points ago

I really love this photo, I did an ink and wash drawing of it a while ago http://i.imgur.com/2llVt.jpg

[–]ikschieths 1 point2 points ago

Wow that looks great!

[–]kentucky_mcnugget 1 point2 points ago

Thank you very much, a black fineliner and water+brush is all :)

[–]bigblacknips 1 point2 points ago

I kind of want to make your drawing my desktop instead.

[–]kentucky_mcnugget 0 points1 point ago

What can I say except, carry on! Thank you :)

[–]DehCheezburgah 4 points5 points ago

You should xpost this to /r/chernobyl.

[–]Favre99 4 points5 points ago

Man, I wish I could see that and the rest of that town in person...nice wallpaper!

[–]TheGreatDainius 2 points3 points ago

There are official tours inside the exclusion zone! You can actually go to Pripyat.

[–]some_smurf_account 0 points1 point ago

50,000 people used to live here... now it's a ghost town

[–]ThatIsMyHat 0 points1 point ago

Man, that level was a bitch on veteran.

[–]burninrock24 0 points1 point ago

The tree behind that girl made her look like she was impaled.

[–]mimicthefrench 2 points3 points ago

Anyone have a 1920x1080 version that looks good? I can crop down to that but I figured I'd check.

[–]Rowona[S] 0 points1 point ago

Sorry, you probably cropped already, but here you go.

[–]confuzD 1 point2 points ago

After the movie Chernobyl Diaries, I can't look at this place the same way.

[–]AbsintheKid 0 points1 point ago

This looks so eerie.

[–]hudsen 0 points1 point ago

RADIATION

IT'S WHAT'S FOR BREAKFAST

[–]kurtozan251 -4 points-3 points ago

20,000 people used to live here.

[–]ellipsisoverload 1 point2 points ago

Around 50,000 actually...

[–]StoneNaP 2 points3 points ago

Now it's a ghost town...

[–]ellipsisoverload 0 points1 point ago

Indeed it is... Even more amazing, it was evacuated almost completely in less than 72 hours...

I went there two years ago on a day tour... The whole area is overgrown, there are trees in the middle of what used to be hotels, et cetera... Some of it is also still incredibly radioactive, right near where this photo was taken, behind and to the left a bit, is a piece of asphalt incredibly contaminated (a few hundred times normal) with Strontium...

[–]StoneNaP 0 points1 point ago

Although I was making an completly unoriginal and unfunny COD4 joke, that is actually pretty interesting
