I know it's against reddiquette but this image has been passed through here hundreds of times.

Hmm, I've never seen it although I do certainly believe it. Of course going to the /r/atheism frontpage just now I see at least 15 posts that I've already seen so I'm not too concerned about it.

true story:

I was in one of my high school classes yesterday and 2 of my acquaintances were talking about this guy whose appendix exploded, and the one of the girls says "oh, i know what it's called! appenditidus!" i've never face palmed so hard in my life.

Actually back when we were forcibly omnivorous, both of those served the purpose of making plants easier to eat

The appendix is the vital organic that channels spiritual energy through the user, and is what people refer to when they say "God is in you, I can feel God, ect ect." If it ruptures or otherwise becomes infected, it means you have led a life so filled with sin, you poisoned your own body, and your connection with God. The appendix' rupture and life threatening sickness is the body's attempt at purging itself of said sin, hopefully cleansing your soul shortly before you die. If you had the organ removed, you are automatically atheist no matter what you tell yourself at night.

I'd like to point out that the appendix does in fact have a purpose. I've posted this a few times, so in short:

The Appendix is full of bacteria.

When humans used to eat raw meat, the appendix would excrete a small amount of the bacteria to stop us from getting sick. Our bodies have since almost forgotten how to do this, since we started cooking our food.

When we are sick with diarrhea and lose the bacteria and cultures naturally found in our intestines, the appendix with give off some bacteria to help rebuild to proper intestinal environment.

If food, worms, fecal matter, or any other foreign object gets caught in the appendix, the bacteria will attack it, causing it to swell and burst (appendicitis).

The apendix needs to be in the body for intelligent design to be true! Design implies engineering and it's just not engineering without a 20% failure rate.
