I believe he is holding fishing wire or something and the front legs are fake (the fire is his legs). It looks like the knees are a little more pointed when the legs go up and they follow the motion of his hands. Anyway, that's my guess.

Probably a lot safer route than hoping your guy friend won't get an erection all night staring at girls in slutty outfits, as others have suggested.

Edit: I'm saying it's one person. I was more wondering how to get the legs to pop up. If I were to do this, I would wear a long sleeve shirt and attach the wire to that. He is either holding something or it is attached to his watch somehow.
