Evolution exists, this is a fact. There is no right or wrong about it. The theory as to exactly how evolution works is going to change as we understand more about genes, find more fossils, etc., although for the most part it captures all the variance we see in life. Just like gravity exists, but the way Newton's theories explained it were vastly different and entirely changed by what Einstein's work demonstrated. This doesn't mean gravity is wrong, it just means the mechanisms through which it works have become better understood with the passage of time...

well first off your science teacher is the worst teacher I've ever heard. im in fuckin 10th grade and even i know the a theory is in many ways better then a law in the fact that laws are constantly proven false because they are just based on observations. There is no hierarchy between hypothesis theories and laws but if there where theories would be on top. so tell your dumbshit teacher to get a degree.

But there's big, big a difference between a little bit wrong, and a whole fuckuva lot wrong.

Newton was a little bit wrong. He didn't account for relativistic effects in his model of universal gravitation. It was incorrect and ultimately replaced by relativity (which itself we already know to be a little bit wrong because it doesn't mesh well with another little bit wrong Quantum theory).

Newton was a little bit wrong. Einstein was a little bit less wrong. The next theory that comes along, which reconciles quantum theory and gravity will be less wrong still.

It's reasonable to assume that Darwin's theory of evolution by the process of natural selection is also wrong... but the same sort of "little bit wrong" as Einstein and Newton. In other words, pretty damn close to right and reasonable to be rounded up to 100% right except in certain cases.

Intelligent design/Creationism, in all probability, is a whole fuckuva lot wrong. I say in all probability, because creationism gives no testable hypotheses. Indeed, it prides itself on not "put(ting) your lord thy god to the test". As someone once described this state, "it's not even wrong!"
