Translation of the passive-agressive stickers : "I behave like a judgmental asshole believing that I am so much better than you so why don't you stop wearing headphones and we might have the chance to talk".

Inevitable answer : "Not gonna happen" and the judgmental asshole can be happy to see that his self-realizing prophecy indeed realized itself.

I've often been thinking about it actually "how much nicer would it be if we were able to talk to each other" but then... I know how I feel after a long day at work, when I'm tired and all I want is go through my hour's commute as quickly as I can and can't be arsed talking to anyone.

on the other hand, there is this hot chick in my train everyday... and...

Well I think the two main reasons nobody talks to each other are:

  1. There's virtually no chance you'll see them again, so it's more or less a waste of effort.
  2. Do unto others... if some weirdo starts talking to you you have nowhere to run!
  3. It's completely context-free. You literally have nothing in common with anyone else - "Oh you use public transport too? That's so interesting!".

Theres three reasons there...

This is why nobody talks to you on the tube.

Imagine being that woman and having a hundred men trying to talk to you every time you're out in public.

Actually, I think this already happens. Some men can be so creepy.

Or just get on the train at rush hour, "I AM NOT GIVING UP MY SEAT THAT I PUSHED PAST THREE PREGNANT WOMEN AND A CHEMO PATIENT TO GET", rush hour does some weird things to people
