There will always be someone who starts earlier than you. The trick is to not assume anyone else gives a fuck.

[–]MeSoCornyyy 133 points134 points ago

I assume you don't give a fuck, but I don't give a fuck if you give a fuck.

[–]3rdLevelRogue 57 points58 points ago

Have a fucking upvote

[–]Kidspider97 29 points30 points ago

Well fuck, Upvotes all around..

[–]FuCKiNTowel 13 points14 points ago

[–]KAYAWS 41 points42 points ago

True. I am an intern that works at 6:00 AM and I don't give a fuck.

[–]Vinnythree 38 points39 points ago

Working at 6 AM just means we get out earlier than the others!

[–]just_eat_it 22 points23 points ago

Most of the time. My last job I was at work at 6 and some days I didn't get out until 8 or 9 at night.

[–]FireTrance 59 points60 points ago

14 or 15 hour work days? I probably might have a spare shit to give for you

[–]just_eat_it 11 points12 points ago

It only happened a couple times at that place, but when I hear people talk about how long they work I remember those times and smile. That also happened to be the place I worked while I was also working at a renaissance festival on the weekends outside in the elements for another 14 or 15 hours a day. Two months straight with no days off working at least 10 hours a day was fun. When people whine about their work schedule I nod with a smug smile across my face.

[–]likeBruceSpringsteen 9 points10 points ago

I woke up this morning at 5:30, stopped at Tim Hortons for a coffee and headed to the shop to do a pre trip inspection on my truck and do paperwork. Actually logged on duty to travel to the worksite at 8am and drove the 3 hours to get here for 11:00. They had some equipment problems on location, so I wasn't able to get onto location until 6:30pm. It's now 10:00pm and they have been having more issues with the well we're working on so I haven't even started offloading my product. Once they actually get going, it will probably take about 2 - 3 hours for me to get empty. No word on when they're gonna get going yet. Also, because I'm gigantic idiot, I only packed enough food to last me till lunch because I figured I'd be gone before supper. So I will most likely be here till sometime tomorrow morning and I haven't eaten since noon. Sometimes my job sucks balls.

[–]redditiscancerous 30 points31 points ago

6am to 6pm for the last 5 years :(

[–]benniebearcub 19 points20 points ago

Five years?! I've been working from 6am-7pm everyday since June 1st. Just got my first day off last Friday. There's no way I could do this for five years. I'm sorry :(

[–]qzwx 8 points9 points ago

When I was 19-20 I once worked 10 months in a row without a day off, usually ~80 hours a week. I finally got a day off because it was Xmas, and both the places I worked were closed.

I will say this: after about five months you just get used to it. Or maybe you're too tired to care. It was nice to get a day off, though.

[–]cantusethemain 4 points5 points ago

I've been working ~65 hour weeks for 2 months and I'm worn out.

[–]arcaida 525 points526 points ago

That gif was so HD, his voice penetrated my mind.

[–]nookularboy 246 points247 points ago

That gif was so HD, /r/atheism is having second thoughts

[–]ENKC 103 points104 points ago

I didn't realise they'd had their first one.

[–]fartpoopandpee 5 points6 points ago

HEYOO

[–]Pelican_Fly -1 points0 points ago

God damn brah, you just made /r/atheism drop its' rolodex of key phrases. Give it time to gather its' quotes off the floor before it can conjure up a retort.

[–]AtlasAnimated 39 points40 points ago

Glad I wasn't the only one.

[–]Numbajuan 6 points7 points ago

You never are. You're never the only one!

[–]Fusion124 19 points20 points ago

I swore I heard him speak.

[–]stuffmeister217 702 points703 points ago

As someone who wakes up at 2:10 am everyday for work, it bugs me when anyone complains about waking up early.

[–]hcumberdale1 100 points101 points ago

As someone who has done rotating shift work for the past 4 years, I have realized that there is no such thing as "early." It's all relative. There is no hour of the day or night that I have not started my "day" at. You just get used to it.

[–]swuboo 29 points30 points ago

You get used to it, sure, but it's a pain in the ass when you work nights and you have to go to the bank.

[–]ForgettableUsername 17 points18 points ago

What kind of neanderthal still goes to the bank in this day and age? Do you also write checks?

[–]Erasethefear 16 points17 points ago

My job doesn't do direct deposit. Paycheck every week. It sucks.

[–]Thewhitebread 8 points9 points ago

Only at the supermarket check-out line. And only after I know the total.

[–]ForgettableUsername 19 points20 points ago

You: "Can I pay for this half on a coupon, half on an expired credit card, and half with a check for eleven dollars?"

Everyone behind you: "DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE"

[–]swuboo 2 points3 points ago

What kind of neanderthal still goes to the bank in this day and age? Do you also write checks?

I last worked nights about ten years ago, before digital banking was a widespread phenomenon.

[–]stopmotionradio 12 points13 points ago

I completely screwed up my sleep schedule once mixing a record. I would work until I got tired, then sleep until I woke up, then work until I got tired. It was a strange 18-20 hours awake, ten hours asleep cycle for about a week. Early was definitely relative.

[–]egidio_maurizio 10 points11 points ago

As someone who has done rotating shift work for the last 6 years, I haven't got used to it.

Still, for me, working in the night (it's 5 AM here) is better that waking up at 6 AM.

[–]serpent042 419 points420 points ago

Well, I was gonna come here to complain about getting up at 4:30 am everyday, but you have me beaten, so I'll just upvote you and walk away.

[–]beandip727 213 points214 points ago

I came here to impress people but I'll keep walking. 3:30am

[–]bwhite3604 275 points276 points ago

Same here, but I also have a 5 month old teething daughter. So I only get a few hours of sleep before working a 10 hour shift.

[–]bwhartmann 144 points145 points ago

I think this probably wins, regardless of what time you get up.

[–]stuffmeister217 94 points95 points ago

Indeed it does, I feel for you man

[–]Digg_MarketingTeam 116 points117 points ago

Even the 2:10 guy agrees.

[–]Icouldbeanyone 15 points16 points ago

bwhite has a constant 2:30 feeling, someone get him a lifetime supply of 5 hour energy quick!

[–]Winston_Vodkatooth 52 points53 points ago

I wake up way before all of you.

3:00pm, the day BEFORE.

[–]microcrash 3 points4 points ago

My dad is a long haul 18 wheel truck driver. He gets up at random times throughout the day and always has to change his sleep schedule to adjust for delivery times. He'll sleep at night for 4 hours one night and then the other have to sleep during the day to get up for a night run. He never get's used to his sleeping patterns

[–]As_a_Fake_Doctor 0 points1 point ago

Disagree. Having that kid was optional. Work is not.

[–]dekuscrub 10 points11 points ago

I had to take a second full time job so that we could afford to keep my daughter's pony, so I don't really get to sleep at all.

[–]ItsTheFeds 3 points4 points ago

Rub a drop of whiskey on her gums. I don't know what this is supposed to do but my grandmother did this to me when I was teething and I've only ever killed seven people.

[–]BlackZeppelin 16 points17 points ago

Mah nigga.

[–]jcmc2112 61 points62 points ago

So would 12:00am be the earliest? Because I feel like we can just circlejerk this by citing an earlier time over and over.

[–]jnatale 93 points94 points ago

I wake up at one in the afternoon.

[–]3rdLevelRogue 68 points69 points ago

Almost half a day before these whining 12am people. :)

[–]arachnophilia 15 points16 points ago

my wakeup time varies from 4-ish to "might as well be unemployed". so i think i'll upvote and walk away too. and i was gonna be all clever and link to the OP's picture, too. oh well.

[–]Its_my_throw_away 203 points204 points ago

Holy fucking shit. It's not relevant what time you wake up, it's how much sleep you get and why. College students bitch about 8 am classes because they're up till 3 on reddit. People that wake up at 2:30 probably get to bed at 6 pm or even 7. The people who have a right to bitch (but usually don't) are the ones that get little to no sleep for work every day because they work multiple jobs and/or have young kids.

[–]cant_be_pun_seen 103 points104 points ago

Actually, the people who have a right to bitch ARE the people who go to work at 2:30.

Going to bed at 6 or 7 pm? That doesnt give you a right to bitch? What kind of life does that leave you?

A fucked up one that demands bitching

[–]kappetan 37 points38 points ago

It leaves you a life. If you go in at 230 your usually out by 1pm. Leaves you 6 hours or so for your "life".

While that may not be the optimal time for YOU to have your free time, its still a life.

[–]compto35 29 points30 points ago

Imagine your 'life' lived between 1-7 pm:

In your 20's your friends would probably be at work, so you'd likely never see them. I can't imagine what it would be like trying to go out and meet people. When would you do so? I mean on weeknights (young) people get to the bars at like 6:30 or 7 at the earliest. Bed time for you. How fucked would your sleep schedule be come weekends? You might have one good day/night before you were crashing hard so you could get back into work mode for the week.

If you were older, your SO (assuming they have a conventional job) and yourself might get maybe an hour of quality time before you're off to bed. Your kids would probably be at school or extracurriculars, again, friends are working.

Now, to add to this: imagine your work requires something of an unconventional work week. Maybe your free days fall on Monday and Thursday. What do you do? You don't have a recovery day to get back into your sleep routine—your free days would likely be free nights.

There's general stuff like cleaning, exercise, whatever—but what about the people you spend your life with?

A life? Sure. Would you be happy with that life?

TL;DR you'd be Redditing with the Kiwis

[–]redditor19871026 4 points5 points ago

Instead of getting up at 2:10AM, you could go to bed at 2PM, get up at 9PM, night-life it up (albeit without alcohol), and then go to work after bars close.

Not ideal, but better.

[–]MrNewking 16 points17 points ago

Plus you beat Rush Hour everyday.

[–]JayhawkGunner 10 points11 points ago

yeah dude im sure as soon as the people were told they work at 2:30 am they were thinking "fuck yeah! no rush hour"

[–]Thalleus 3 points4 points ago

As a night owl and a person who has a vehement hate of the unholy hell that is called rush hour in my city, yes I could see myself saying that.

[–]Mykath 2 points3 points ago

In all honesty I would.

[–]fillwitz 33 points34 points ago

[–]BreSput 8 points9 points ago

Pfffft, I get up at 10am the day before, buddy. Got you beat by about 16 hours.

[–]JKR93 10 points11 points ago

Damn im up at 5:30, still, I think I have a say when it's annoying. In high school I'd wake up at 7:30 and be at school for class at 8, never complained.

[–]willscy 8 points9 points ago

I was at school at 6 AM in high school =/

[–]FuCKiNTowel 6 points7 points ago

Yeah, but you were probably out by 2 PM tops

[–]EverGreenPLO 5 points6 points ago

But how is it early if you do it every day? Early and late are relative to on-time

You're just on some fucked up time

[–]stuffmeister217 5 points6 points ago

Trust me, it stays pretty early.

[–]bstone99 13 points14 points ago

Right? I wake up at 445am every day and I see these people bitch about 7am. I never say anything because I know people like you exist and I don't wanna be a dick. Someone's always got it worse, people just need to shut the fuck up and deal with it

[–]Modus_Pwnen 0 points1 point ago

What's so bad about getting up that early if you manage time appropriately and get the sleep you need?

[–]Mikey-2-Guns 11 points12 points ago

That's your normal schedule. Does your dog wake you up an hour before you need to, so his hyperactive ass can drag you around the neighborhood for 2 miles while you are still half asleep...every...single...fucking...day!?

EDIT: Waiting for someone with an infant to come in and put us all to shame.

[–]Thingtwos 2 points3 points ago

Thank you. Jesus. I'm a shift lead at starbucks for the openers and i have to get up at 3:30 every day, and work till about 1:00, and then go to school.

[–]matthewalan8 179 points180 points ago

Early is always subjective and dependent on when you go to sleep.

[–]makubesu 34 points35 points ago

Don't like 8am classes?

  1. Go find your clock

  2. Set it an hour forward.

  3. No more 8am classes.

[–]datael 9 points10 points ago

It's just that kind of crazy that actually works for me.

[–]BlackDeath3 16 points17 points ago

This is what a lot of people don't seem to realize when talking about this.

"Oh you wake up at 3AM? That sucks. What time do you go to bed, again? 7PM? Pansy."

It's all relative.

[–]CoyoteStark 8 points9 points ago

The pope declared the hours from 3 am to 5 am "ungodly".

[–]NeonCookies 68 points69 points ago

6am (and earlier) is too early no matter when I go to sleep.

[–]aldude3 62 points63 points ago

Go to sleep at 7am wake up at 6 am. "Damn! Why did I wake up so Early!?"

[–]FlyingPasta 49 points50 points ago

"I woke up so early I went back in time"

[–]B0SSARU 6 points7 points ago

I remember in 9th grade(2 years ago) I had to wake up at 5:30 am everyday, and since my school bus also drove little kids, my 8 year old brother would have to wake up that early too. 5:30 is just too damn early for kids to wake up, it's torture.

[–]FlyingPasta 5 points6 points ago

Teenagers are unable to go to sleep on time; has to do something with the brain and sleep molecules and somesuch. [Citation needed]

[–]Jewsee 50 points51 points ago

An employed recent graduate? How does one become one of those?

[–]YourWaterloo 17 points18 points ago

Yeah, as an unemployed recent graduate, I would trade early mornings and gainful employment for this shit any day.

[–]Cratonz 2 points3 points ago

[–]byobguy 42 points43 points ago

[–]fawker 23 points24 points ago

o dark 30

"There's no way this reply gif is as high resolution as the OP's.

[–]SnideJaden 77 points78 points ago

Getting paid to get up early VS paying to get up early

[–]bourbonforbabies 23 points24 points ago

The worst is student teaching. You are paying regular tuition to teach 40+ hours a week for 16 weeks.

[–]babiesloveboobies 2 points3 points ago

Also, doing something you (hopefully) enjoy enough to make a career out of it, vs passively listening to someone talking about something you may not care a whole lot about. No matter what time it's at, listening to someone talk would always make me sleepier.

[–]feetmittens 2 points3 points ago

Also being able to go home and sleep when the time is right vs sleeping when the homework is done.

[–]jimjamAK 8 points9 points ago

Getting up early vs thinking 8am is early

[–]darchangel 24 points25 points ago

I also don't get summer breaks off, I don't get skip days, attendance is required, and if I screw up I don't just get to try again next semester.

[–]I_have_a_dog 36 points37 points ago

You also get paid.

[–]CaptainEskimo 5 points6 points ago

People act like getting payed instantly makes it amazing. Sure, I get paid but nearly all my money goes to bills right away. Making money comes with more responsibility.

[–]KallistiEngel 3 points4 points ago

I do get summers off (if I choose to), but I also work at a university. It's only mandatory that I work about 8 months of the year. Winter break (4-5 weeks), there is almost no work available at all campus-wide. Summer break, there's work available, but many of the positions you're lucky to get if you haven't been working at the university 5 or more years. So I opt for summers off. I'm still young and don't have many expenses other than rent, utilities, and my car (no wife or kids), so why not enjoy myself?

[–]NedDasty 5 points6 points ago

That is a very high quality animated gif.

[–]bh3w 13 points14 points ago

try military where i work at "why the fuck is it still dark out"

[–]ashmole 4 points5 points ago

Then there's the field, where sleep schedules don't exist and everything's a pillow.

[–]rony43 13 points14 points ago

As an intern who has to be in the hospital 5am-7pm, I sometimes dream about getting to wake up at 8

[–]XaroXhaonDaxos 26 points27 points ago

[–]FuCKiNTowel 13 points14 points ago

[–]wolfix 1 point2 points ago

[–]Foley1 8 points9 points ago

Yeah but after you graduate you automatically gain adult abilities like the wake up early and not feel shit perk right?.......right?

[–]Elessar20 8 points9 points ago

Going to work != sitting in university.

Trust me, I worked for 1.5 years and stood up over 12 months at 3 am for work. You can work with 4-5 hours of sleep but you can't study. If I go to the university with less than 8 h of sleep I could literally stay at home... :/

[–]zhay 0 points1 point ago

You can study with any number of hours of sleep.

[–]LegendaryPunk 3 points4 points ago

I work the overnight shift at a hospital. I don't clock OUT until 8:00am.

[–]ledzep4life 3 points4 points ago

My work day is almost half way over by the time most people drag their asses out of bed.

[–]Obnoxious_ismyname 1 point2 points ago

I have about the same reaction, but I'm a college student waking up at 5 for ROTC pt

[–]rdylant 3 points4 points ago

I work at a golf course -- seven days a week. I wake up between 5:00-5:30 AM every day. I have to be at work at 6:00 AM. I get off at 3:00 PM. When there's a tournament, we work a few days from six to nine (at night) or so. Having just started, I get to do the majority of the "grunt work" (which, for the most part, is weed-eating for eight hours). Today I didn't have to weed-eat. It was a good day.

I don't have a college degree. I make $8.25 an hour.

e: And I have a very hard time sleeping at night. I've been trying different things (melatonin, Nyquil, Tylenol PM, etc.). Nothing seems to help. I definitely exhaust myself during the day, but when it's time to wind down for the night I just can't.

[–]GangsterObama 3 points4 points ago

Go to college.

I didn't.

I work at a Steel yard.

I start work at 4am

[–]Saasaan 7 points8 points ago

I wake up at 430 every day for work, and get home from school between 6 and 10pm. People are right, early usually is subjective. However, when you have an eighteen hour day, and have six hours before you have to be up to do it again, I would say at that point that 430 is objectively early.

[–]BarbecuedDumplings 4 points5 points ago

That gif is silky smooth.

[–]Rlysrh 5 points6 points ago

Holy shit this is one of the highest quality gifs I've ever seen.

[–]chaymoney86 0 points1 point ago

7am???? I wish. I have to work at 4/5/6 am depending on the day.

[–]ProctorBoamah 2 points3 points ago

Thank you. I was expecting the condescending Willy Wonka and was pleasantly surprised.

[–]forceheretic 2 points3 points ago

Upvote for Morgan Freeman, second, imaginary upvote for Shawshank, and another imaginary upvote for someone else who starts work at 7 am.

[–]Gatortusk 2 points3 points ago

As a fellow early riser in the workforce, I salute you sir.

[–]ToAllAGoodNight 2 points3 points ago

That's a nice looking .gif my fren.

[–]randumnumber 2 points3 points ago

Amen brother, I wake up every day at 630 and work 8-10 hours. Like a good worker bee.

[–]Genasai 0 points1 point ago

Worked production on a factory line this summer. 60 hour weeks and I had to be there at 3:30 every morning.

[–]xenodius 2 points3 points ago

My wife works at 1:45AM in a bakery, doing hard physical labor for 9-10 hours a day on "40-hour week" salary.

I'm sorry for one-upping you, but 7am just isn't that early. I got up at 5AM today. It just depends on when you sleep.

[–]captainamerica24 2 points3 points ago

As a teacher, yes, a million times!

[–]l0st_t0y 2 points3 points ago

this is how I feel about all these people saying that when I get up at 5 for swim practice hahha

[–]Guppy-Warrior 2 points3 points ago

Airlines . . 4-5am on a regular basis. sometimes earlier. up to 14+ hr days 99% of the time.

[–]spilurum 2 points3 points ago

How I feel as a former infantryman who spent more time worrying about finding time to sleep rather than when would I wake up; http://i.imgur.com/9i7qC.jpg

[–]sbalz 2 points3 points ago

I posted this in another one of these "suck it up" threads. I used to get up at 7 to be at school by 8 (I was a commuter). Then I was in class till 2 when I had just enough time to go eat shit from people at my retail job till 9pm. This semester I work 6 days a week generally, and right now im a little over half way working through 13 straight days plus classes. Point being, when you have 13 hour days, getting up at 8 sucks. And I have it better than most people in the world, which is why I don't bitch about working anymore. People in the US don't have jobs and/or don't have the chance to go to school. And that doesn't even touch on other countries. My dad's motto is that it could always be worse, and it certainly always could be.

[–]rosamor86 13 points14 points ago

As a mother who wakes up at 1am, 4am, and 7am to feed my daughter, I really don't feel sorry for you.

[–]Dr_Downvotes 33 points34 points ago

As a person without offspring, I really don't feel sorry for you.

[–]vote100binary 5 points6 points ago

So brave.

[–]ItsTheFeds 3 points4 points ago

Well, we ALL know that being a mother is the toughest job of all.

[–]Cosmonauto 2 points3 points ago

/sarcasm

[–]chuckDontSurf 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, you know all those mothers who died of black lung disease last year. /Bill Burr

[–]ReadySetKill 2 points3 points ago

It is much easier when they pay you money instead of just showing up to a class when there really isn't much at stake and you are hungover.

[–]CaptainEskimo 2 points3 points ago

If youre seriously complaining that college is hard bevause there isn't much at stake and you chose to drink the night before, the real world is going to kick your ass.

[–]cbk88 3 points4 points ago

I start work at 6 a.m. all this week...but it's better than the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift!

[–]NickDouglas 5 points6 points ago

I'll give you two guesses about whether I give a shit.

[–]MeSoCornyyy 21 points22 points ago

Yes and no.

[–]jf2l 3 points4 points ago

This is the highest quality .gif I've ever seen. And the picture was super sharp too!

[–]20sacksam 3 points4 points ago

I wake up at 4:30 every morning to go work at a sewer plant. Every day. Weekends, holidays. Every. Single. Day.

[–]CarlOffDuty 3 points4 points ago

Those college kids just go right back to bed anyways, who can't have a cup of coffee and fake a stare for an hour and a half..

THANK YOU. I work at an equestrian college and my students are up and in the barns at 530am. 8am is fucking lunch time.

[–]neomatrix248 24 points25 points ago

Equestrian college? You can get a degree in horses?

[–]saturnelia 24 points25 points ago

No, it's where you go to BECOME a horse. What, you think they just grow on trees or something?

[–]cohrt 6 points7 points ago

yup.

[–]pleiades9 53 points54 points ago

Are the classes hard or is mostly horsing around?

[–]firecrackergirl 3 points4 points ago

I am actually curious about this eating schedule. Do they eat when they wake up, but then wait until noon-ish for lunch? Or is it actually necessary to have a mid-morning meal, AND lunch?

[–]user_name2 1 point2 points ago

I don't get it. In High School we weren't allowed to complain about 7:30 classes, in the work force we aren't allowed to complain about 8:30 shifts, but when we were in college we could just bitch and moan about how our 40,000-dollar-tuition college were soo hard. It seems reddit is mostly college kids who downvote anything they don't like to hear.

[–]OsamaBinMcAwesome 1 point2 points ago

I would sell my soul for 8am class.

[–]ArchangelleCockSuckr 2 points3 points ago

As a college grad who is working as a construction laborer...

Nah, fuck it.

[–]TBray96 0 points1 point ago

Yes sir, supreme overlord Morgan Freeman

[–]ejdawson3 1 point2 points ago

I live for the OP

[–]musical_note -1 points0 points ago

you know, we have late start, so school starts at 8:00 am only on Thursdays, at that makes us so happy.

[–]Crimthaan 0 points1 point ago

Yeahh....I think I woke up at 9:30 EST today....yahhhh..

[–]hitmenow 1 point2 points ago

I go to work at 9pm and get off at 7am..

[–]Arphahat 1 point2 points ago

So, growing up, I stared elementary school pretty early in the morning. But, not as early as middle school. And, high school was the earliest of them all. I had been trained to get up early.

Then, college, where you get up whenever you feel like, and can stay up all night destroys that habit.

Then, you graduate and enter the workforce, where it is expected that you get up at least as early as a high-schooler.

So, college freshmen, beware! Don't lose your "getting up early in the morning" powers!

[–]HogwartsNeedsWifi -1 points0 points ago

I have work at 5:30 during the week, and 5 on weekends. Get at me.

[–]slipperyfist -1 points0 points ago

As someone who doesn't have to go into work until 4 PM, I'm equally amused by all of this.

[–]bluesmurf -1 points0 points ago

Did you really need it animated?

[–]losesomeweight 0 points1 point ago

almost perfectly looped

[–]bryanl12 0 points1 point ago

Don't forget 8 A.M. is around the same time they had to go to grade school.

[–]TheDude66 1 point2 points ago

as someone who has worked at 7 am, at least you get out of work earlier.

[–]Silversol99 -1 points0 points ago

I got up at 10am to do nothing all day. I don't give a shit either.

[–]notoriousmunkee -1 points0 points ago

where are these threads at?

[–]Emeraldchimera 1 point2 points ago

I despise people who complain about having to wake up at seven or eight. I have to be at school at 7, and it's a half hour away. Depending on how long I take to get ready, I have to wake up at 5:30-6:00 AM

[–]flyingsephyrage 1 point2 points ago

This. All of this every goddamn morning.

[–]deceptiveVI 1 point2 points ago

Just graduated as well. Go in at 6:45am, and I consider my once a week 7:45am start time as the day i get to "sleep in"........I miss college

[–]duddle -1 points0 points ago

try getting up at 3:50 its not easy

[–]Nemoswang -1 points0 points ago

I'm going to school for meat processing my normal class time is 8am. On kill days it's 7am. I live an hour or so away from campus.

[–]Sythus -1 points0 points ago

7am? Woa is you. That must be rough.

[–]Omfgidk756 1 point2 points ago

Not sure why anyone, even the 2am people, thinks that them waking up that early matters. It all depends on when you go to bed, and how much sleep you get. Waking up after 6 hours of sleep sucks, no matter the time.

[–]mexus37 -1 points0 points ago

I work at 5am so you can all shut the hell up.

[–]maegos 1 point2 points ago

Shit fuck yeah! getting 3 kids off to school and me looking raggedy crawling into work @ 7

[–]vtcapsfan 1 point2 points ago

This makes me appreciate my software development job, don't even wake up till 815..work 9-530

[–]MorbidMax 1 point2 points ago

When I worked loading the trucks at UPS I had to get up at 3 and be there by 3:30.

Granted I did get off at like 7 most days (Part time college job).

E: it's the best college job one could ask for IMO. You get a workout, insurance, and above average pay.

[–]promiseme13 1 point2 points ago

As a college student who works at 7am on my days off; I agree!

However I still am sleepy; my body refuses to shut down before 11:30-12; even when I wake up at 5:45 for work and school.

[–]Timpetrim 0 points1 point ago

I work at 6 am every day and my wife, who just started Medical school now has classes at 8 am every day after sending 2 yeras doi g her masters where she didnt have a schedule...

[–]tragik007 1 point2 points ago

Fuck you. 4 AM to 3 PM six days a week with salary.

FUCK YOU.

[–]De1Shiznit 1 point2 points ago

This GIF is super HD. It is the most detailed GIF I have ever seen.

[–]kylaapple 1 point2 points ago

I read this in Morgan Freeman's voice.

[–]vanillaafro -1 points0 points ago

it's not about getting up early it's about having a job/class/whatever that takes so friggin long that you can't sleep enough....so really the only people that should be pissed are those people...i'm lucky enough to not be one of them so i'm no complaining

[–]ar92 1 point2 points ago

As someone who works from 6am - 1pm and has class from 2-5 every day, seconded. I have to be ready for a daily department meeting at 8am.

[–]engiRoosevelt 1 point2 points ago

I'm quite awake for my 830 am class. It's my classes at like 5pm that I start dozing off in.

[–]GuanoQuesadilla -1 points0 points ago

How I feel seeing this as a Menard's morning stocker who works at 5AM, 6 days a week.

[–]3rdLevelRogue 0 points1 point ago

All it requires is the magic trick of extra sleep. Set alarm 1 hour before you MUST get up. Set an alarm when you must. First one wakes you up and "Holy shit! I got another hour of sleep!" Trick myself every time.

[–]shirafoo 1 point2 points ago

My boyfriend spent the entire summer waking up at 4:30am to get to work in order to start at 6am. Today he called sleeping until 7 to make his 8:30 class "sleeping in" and "a relief".

[–]Girafferra 1 point2 points ago

I had a 4am class (ornithology) one semester. That's what I keep thinking of every time I see these whiney 8AM posts.

[–]Isingforasspixs 0 points1 point ago

I read that, and heard his voice

[–]tombutt 1 point2 points ago

I used to generally wake up around 2 pm or so but then i got a job at the winery and got used to waking up at 5:45 every morning. Now 8:30 classes are a fucking breeze.

[–]G1Pringle 1 point2 points ago

As a highschooler who has to be in class everyday before 8 I feel the same way
