I always find it funny that people rag on George Bush jr. like he is some sort of idiot. The man graduated from Yale AND Harvard. Maybe he came from a wealthy and affluent family, but he is no idiot. I'd wager he's probably smarter then 99% of the people that make fun of him like this.

I was speaking only in reference to his admittance to Yale. Legacy means that a family member of his previously attended the university, and the Ivies are notorious for giving legacies priority. His going to Yale means nothing to me because he didn't do anything afterwards to indicate his intelligence.

I believe, given his rather untimely circumstance as president, he handled the situations presented to him to the best of his ability. He has taken much of the blunt force when it comes to "getting" us into two wars, increasing general security and anti-terrorist watch (watchlist, TSA), an economic recession, and addressing the nation during the largest loss of human life on American people from a foreign attacker (although it's wrong not to credit Giuliani for all he did.) I think he was very stern in his foreign policy when it comes to protecting America from harassment or threats, seeing as many nations don't really like us and will gladly lie to us. Also, I agree with his economic and social ideals (although Congress has way more power than he in either of those subjects)

I've never heard anyone say he liked lying. When he did, he had been influenced that it was what was best for our country and the citizens of America. He had to be the president who stepped out in front of everyone in ridicule for laying down laws to protect us from threats, both domestic and foreign.
