Are you feeling lonely?

Being so far away from our loved ones gives us a lot of time to be by ourselves. Sometimes we may get lonely, sometimes we may feel sad. It's not all bad, though. Being in a LDR teaches us How To Be Alone... Which can be a wonderful experience!

is it really this bad? i'm visiting my girlfriend in october, and do not look forward to the leaving part...

Don't think about it too much, lest it ruin the part where you're together!

themanwithahat is right, but I can't lie. It hurts pretty darn badly.

It hurts pretty bad...our actual goodbye wasn't that sad, but once I got back to my apartment in NYC and had to deal with being alone again, that's when it hit me. It was quite difficult Skyping with him that first night and not being able to touch him...I cried quite a bit.

It was definitely hard at first, but it got better with each day. Plus, I have a busy schedule, so I didn't have too much time to think about it.

4 hours? that's a lot less then I cried.

it really was hard, I missed you like hell. I still do. but it'll all be worth it when I kiss you at that altar <3

I generally have wet-face syndrome for about 20-30 minutes, then I do something productive to push myself out of the bad feels and into the good feels.

Hugs. You'll be okay. :)

That is pretty tough of you. I had to move out after living with my SO for 4 months and we had to go back to long distance and I cried for a couple hours everyday for almost 2 weeks, now I just cry a little bit every night.

It sucks, but it does get a bit easier. I always get emotional a couple days before leaving again, but I try to keep my emotions in check so I don't ruin the experience of being with him by being depressed about me/him leaving.... lol.

My boyfriend and I will have been apart for 3.5 months when he visits again. (That's assuming it's in early Decemer, not mid-December.) He's been talking about staying for a month. That's unheard of for us. The longest has been 2 weeks. Don't know if it'll actually happen that way, but I certainly wouldn't mind!

Yeah the few days before are always hardest. I hope he stays a month :)

We usually stay for a month because we usually have to go 6 or 7 months apart :/

[–]WordsVerbatim1160 mi / 1867 km (USA - Canada) 0 points1 point ago

Dang. I am only doing a 3.5 month stretch this time around, and it feels like it's going to take forever! I can't imagine doing 6 months! (I am sure we'll have to do that soon enough, though, so I'm glad we're slowing easing into it doing longer stretches of time apart each time.... That sounds really depressing.... lol.)

[–]TimeWarpTalia5,671 miles/CA-Germany[S] 1 point2 points ago

It is kinda depressing but the best part is that once you do 6 months apart, and then you it's only 3.5 months...it is the most exciting feeling ever to know it is so soon. So it's worth it :)
