By the way, a mildly interesting fact. 3495 hours is roughly 145 days, which is how long ago the stopwatch fad was last big on /r/mildlyinteresting - this would appear to show that these people set up their stopwatches when they saw similar posts and have no begun to post their results, 3494 hours later.

(Sorry if this is too interesting)

Mine is at 7491. I started it last October after I accidently left it on 630 hours later.

Hit LAP!

[–]Pandyballs 3 points4 points ago

This is incredibly easy to fake. Start your stopwatch then change the device's time.

[–]Pollyanna584 0 points1 point ago

how do you change the divice's time on an iPhone? I've never been able to...

[–]Pandyballs 0 points1 point ago

Settings > General > Date and Time > Set Automatically to Off > Set Date and Time.

[–]alphanovember 0 points1 point ago

Exactly. And OP hasn't rebooted or resprung in all that time? Bullshit.

I did this on purpose with mine. It's at 7959 hours. Almost a year. My ipods clock is off by 3 minutes and I'm guessing because its been up for so long

That's Forrest Gump's phone.

Mine is at 11074 hours. I decided to hit the lap button every time I checked on it. So far, I've hit lap twice. The first time being at 7061 hours, and the second time being right now.

Just checked mine, 17316 hours... started it when I first got my phone (3G)

Did this affect your battery life? Has life changed ever since you stopped the thing?

[–]toaster34[S] 6 points7 points ago

I don't know if it affected my battery life because I honestly forgot about it and it has changed my life since I stopped it. I'm so much more confident when talking to girls and I even got promoted at my job.

I only know Android development but if it were in an Android-like environment it would use no extra battery.

Android (and I imagine IOS) lets you save some data when the user pauses your app (like when they go to the home screen). Then when they resume it you can use that data for an on resume command.

Any decent programmer would say "Oh they are paused, let's save the time that they started the timer at and stop running it." then on resume you do "Oh you're resuming, let's take the current time and subtract it from the time that the timer started to get where we should be at now. Then start the timer again."

[–]aigret 0 points1 point ago

I didn't stop to check my stopwatch, but I did check my stocks app since I never use that. Hasn't been opened since 8/19/2011.

[–]0-catch -1 points0 points ago

Mine is at 9,022 hours and I forgot why I even started it.

[–]BRudd82 1 point2 points ago

I bet with this post you made hundreds of people check their iPhone's to see if the stop watch is still running. I did.

[–]agobayer 7 points8 points ago

Didn't know that you could do this. Although it doesn't seem to work in reverse, so now i've fucked up my 7k hour streak.
