Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

Note that the Huey, Dewey and Louie's father is unknown.

[–]statutory_cape 3 points4 points ago

I DEMAND DARKWING DUCK!!!!

[–]Mipsymouse 0 points1 point ago

I agree! Where is he on this thing?!

[–]statutory_cape 1 point2 points ago

A few things

  • Darkwing Duck is a superhero name like Batman. Duck refers to what he is.

  • His real name is Drake Mallard. To my knowledge, he is not related to Donald Duck. If he was, he would be very distantly related.

  • Molly Mallard married into the McDuck tree, but we don't know if she's from the same Mallard family as Drake. If she is, this would make Drake at least Donald's third cousin.

  • The shoehorn to connect Darkwing Duck to the rest of Disney canon is Launchpad McQuack.

  • This is the Duck, McDuck, and Coot Family Trees.

Wait a minute . . . WHERE'S LUDWIG VON DRAKE???

[–]magika_dyspell 0 points1 point ago

u r correct... he is the missing uncle of donald

[–]statutory_cape 0 points1 point ago

Well considering he's a Von Drake, he would have to marry into either the Ducks, the Coots, or the McDucks. This tree could have been made before he married in.

According to this Wikipedia article, he's married to Matilda McDuck and therefore he's Scrooge's brother-in-law.

In what reality do you make family trees with the oldest people at the bottom?

[–]Jantaro 0 points1 point ago

Well, the oldest part of a tree is on the bottom, so I think they went with that.

This is why liked Donald Duck as a kid. I love how Carl Barks gave Donald character past being just an angry duck, gave him a whole world to live in, and other characters unique to his world. Mickey, Goofy, etc. never got this kind of attention.

[–]fladaxe 0 points1 point ago

And thats why I love Don Rosa's Stories so much.

He is consistent and orientates on Barks' Comics,

while making up pretty exiting new stuff!

[–]rolfv 2 points3 points ago

Ahr Don Rosa. Best thing ever that ever happened to the Disney universe.

This can't be right at all, I recall Huey, Dewey and Louie calling scrooge their uncle, but he's apparently a great uncle?

[–]statutory_cape 1 point2 points ago

I called my great aunt, aunt.

[–]chinesefooood 0 points1 point ago

he's their mother's brother...aka Uncle

[–]Freakazette 0 points1 point ago

Donald is their mother's brother, Scrooge is their mother's uncle. But a lot of people call their great uncles "uncle," so it's not really an issue.

[–]black_kero 0 points1 point ago

Scrooge, not Donald.

[–]statutory_cape 1 point2 points ago

"Dirty" Dingus McDuck...

[–]chinesefooood 0 points1 point ago

Molly Mallard does not look happy about her lot in life.

[–]2face-MazE 1 point2 points ago

could have at least given this a week before reposting it :/

[–]simjanes2k -1 points0 points ago

TIL ducks reproduce asexually when needed.

[–]Ironsmith77 1 point2 points ago

DAE read that thinking 'so where did the money come from?".

[–]statutory_cape 1 point2 points ago

I would think that Scrooge's father and uncles inherited Dingus's mine. I would imagine that Fergus (Scrooge's father) would have bought out his brothers. This would allow Angus to buy a ship to be a captain of, and Jake saved it as Scottish stereotype tradition says. Judging by their clothes, the mine was eventually successful and Fergus made tons of money.

However, before that the Clan McDuck had money in the old times, which probably got Dingus the mine.

All of this I got from just looking at this family tree. I have not read the comics so I don't know the canon.

[–]Freakazette 1 point2 points ago

Scrooge is a self-made duck. He came from a poor family and worked hard for his money.

Someone missed an episode of Duck Tales.
