So I am just going to go ahead and be the stick in the mud.

Assuming this is a public road and not closed for taping, this guy is an asshat.

Do this shit on a track where there are safety mechanisms and fire/rescue crews.

I don't care if you are a good driver. Public roads have no place for this, and the only benefit is that the driver and friends with the camera get a thrill. The downsides are much worse. This is a selfish act, of a d-bag.

edit: For those pointing out there is no one else around (and he could see the road from the opposite direction), there could be a passenger in the car, he could also have blown a tire, lost control of the car, hit a slick spot, etc... and then gone off the road. Emergency response might need to get involved, there could be hospital bills, their families could worry about their safety, etc...

My point is just that this should not be done on a public road, and that from a rational standpoint the downsides far outweigh the "Cool move bro" factor.

Second Edit: Getting downvotes because I am pointing out someone is doing something dangerous and illegal? I guess everyone else thinks it is cool. I just don't see why this should be glorified. Then again I had a car buddy who "knows how to drive" wrap his car around a tree and send a friend to the hospital via a helicopter so I guess it depends on your perspective.
