    Here's a video of a similar spider that got posted on the comment thread from which OP stole this gif. The guy in the video says the spider is between 10.5 and 11 inches and he handles it for over 4 minutes, so don't even think of watching it if you suffer from even the slightest displeasure while watching giant hairy spiders crawling over people.

    Just so everyone knows, the first half, the camera is down on a table/tripod. It does not shake or move, and is at a low angle. The 2nd half is from a completely different clip of someone running away.

    For a big spider like this you could try your luck with a cheap catapult and a penny. Across 15-20 feet the force should be enough to destroy the spider's abdomen. If you have the right thing you could also Frisbee it to death, but I don't think a conventional plastic Frisbee is usually heavy/hard enough. I think something like the turntable from an old record player would be perfect. Barring that you could probably just get away with throwing a good sized stone at it if your aim is good.

      Because, as I said, it adds to the "fear factor" by preventing the viewer to see what happened after the "spider" jumped. The tumbling camera is a classic camera trick. Notice how the camera gets "flipped" yet there is no quick blurry motion from its original direction to the closed door it suddenly moves to. It was added at the end in an editing program.

        Hell, if it weren't for total boredom, I wouldn't bother. But here's the gif broken down frame by frame. You can see how the last 10 frames don't match up. If the camera had been bumped or moved by a camera operator, there would have been scenes captured between the original angle and the beginning of the last 10 shots. It was clearly added on with an editing program. Thus, it kills the credibility of the gif. If you are having trouble believing it at this point, well, that's just your thing I guess.

        Spiders do get this big, and they can make little jumps at you. Where's the fake looking part? Are we just pointing at everything and calling it fake now?

        I explained it long time ago. Spiders don't jump upwards, like one on this gif. They leap forward using their back legs.

        Also, spiders of this size (tarantulas) are very fragile. Hit like this against the bowl could kill it, and fall on the ground would kill it definitely.

        The reason I said it was fake was because of the way the camera suddenly goes hay-wire. It was added in at the end for dramatic effect. There's no blurred panning of the camera as it films from the original angle to the jumbled filming of down the hall with the two doors. There's zero transition. It's a gimmick we did in college to confuse the viewer as to "what happened next."

          I'm trying to say that there's no reason to make a post like you did in response to that guy's post because there is a very high possibility that this is fake. To be honest, this is the internet, I assume everything is fake until it's been proven otherwise.

          That's silly. This is a normal, every day thing in certain places around the world (like Australia).

          So the fact that it's a gif makes it fake, somehow...? That's like going to a gif of a cat meowing and calling it fake. It's completely normal, happens all the time, not even a big deal... but NOPE, FAKE.
