Looking for an image subreddit with minimal rules? Check out /r/images

A place to share interesting photographs and pictures. Feel free to post your own, but please read the rules first (see below), and note that we are not a catch-all for general images (of screenshots, comics, etc.)

Spoiler code

Please mark spoilers like this:

Hover over to read.

Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

Here you go! Check out the author's other works, they are pretty snazzy! http://www.harkavagrant.com/index.php?id=326

[–]SuddenlyTimewarp 4 points5 points ago

That moment is actually "Get rid of the flare!"

Nice shoop job though.

[–]TBAMF 1 point2 points ago

Thanks, I feel like I could have done better, but it's 4 am and I am tired.

[–]Stonelocomotief[S] 1 point2 points ago

Haha very nice!

[–]Fidena 0 points1 point ago

Unfortunately for Ian, that's a jackdaw, which is in the crow family. Smart birds, very much more so than a T-rex.

[–]CHF64 89 points90 points ago

Raptor attack.

[–]Fucha 18 points19 points ago

That was my first thought as well, it's only fitting they look like dinosaurs though :)

[–]Jumbalaspi 31 points32 points ago

Birds are the direct descendants of dinosaurs

[–]EndymionAwake 7 points8 points ago

Raptors were basically slightly larger chickens.

[–]Djorak 10 points11 points ago

Hey, relevant XKCD from today!

[–]steinman17 1 point2 points ago

More like a six foot turkey

[–]A_Polite_Noise 0 points1 point ago

That kid was such a dick. Who even invited him to the dig? What kid wouldn't have been respectfully fascinated/awed by Dr. Grant? Little prick; I like to imagine that 4 years later he moved to San Diego and was one of those killed by the runaway T-Rex.

[–]Nodebunny 3 points4 points ago

No wonder why birds are amazing! Who knew u could squeeze all the horror of a dinosaur into a cute defenseless tweety bird... Then again seagulld scare the beans out of my burrito... U ever see those things swallow birds whole?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IOtPbEVlm0&feature=youtube_gdata_player

[–]kaiden333 0 points1 point ago

No? I've seen pelicans do that though.

[–]Nodebunny 0 points1 point ago

Theres a few of youtube videos featuring seagulls eating random birds. Let me see if I can find the one Im thinking of

Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IOtPbEVlm0&feature=youtube_gdata_player

[–]jsnoots 0 points1 point ago

A seagull stole a polly-o string cheese from my wife at the beach. It waited for her to open it up, hovered behind her head for a second and just as she was about to bite the cheese it swooped in and stole the whole thing, swapping her in the face with its dirty gull wings in the process. As soon as it landed and tried to eat it, another gull stole it from the original thief and ate it, down in one gulp. Then all the gulls screamed at us for more.

[–]honorface 0 points1 point ago

Is this news to you? Never ever watch anything other than Jurrasic park and dinos will forever be awesome. Never watch anything dino related on SCI and DISC. You have been warned.

Leather skinz 4 lyfe.

[–]Treasy 0 points1 point ago

"scare the beans out of my burrito" had me in tears. I'm using that from now on

[–]McHomans 1 point2 points ago

They are dinosaurs.

[–]Fucha 0 points1 point ago

Exactly.

[–]tigga_stole_my_bike 45 points46 points ago

One could say those birds appear quite...

(•_•)

( •_•)>⌐■-■

(⌐■_■)

...ravenous.

[–]EndymionAwake 3 points4 points ago

Then that would mean he did quite the unkindness to his camera.

[–]BustahWoruff 0 points1 point ago

YEEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!1111oneone

[–]Jhontheman45 -2 points-1 points ago

I bow down to you sir! -.-

[–]SenatorBlutarsky 8 points9 points ago

I have a feeling this photo will be appearing on r/birdswitharms soon.

[–]eonge 1 point2 points ago

A work of art.

[–]jburke6000 13 points14 points ago

You got a a little Hitchcock running in your veins. Very cool pic.

[–]c0pypastry 0 points1 point ago

Better than a little hitchvein running through your cock.

[–]jayeffkay 15 points16 points ago

and who says birds aren't dinosaurs?

[–]rydan 9 points10 points ago

They aren't. Dinosaurs are extinct.

[–]HansWurst121 20 points21 points ago

This guy here does.

[–]Aleax2358 10 points11 points ago

Birds (aves) are most definitely part of the dinosauria clade.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinosaur#Taxonomy

[–]joeanon 0 points1 point ago

Does that mean we are all single celled organisms ?

[–]dunchen22 6 points7 points ago

What if Earth is just a single celled organism? And we're just, like, little organelles?

[–]HigherFive 1 point2 points ago

What if the Milky Way is just a macromolecule?

[–]Numlocks 3 points4 points ago

What if the Milky Way is just a candy bar?

[–]HigherFive 3 points4 points ago

What if a candy bar is just a bar they sell candy at?

[–]svullenballe 0 points1 point ago

What if our universe is just George Bush Seniors wife?

[–]lookitsmarc 0 points1 point ago

What if god was one of us?

[–]FordSVT1[!] 1 point2 points ago

Dinosauria is a superorder or clade of species. "Single celled organism" is not a comparable term.

[–]Sleekery 7 points8 points ago

Chirp chirp, motherfucker.

[–]8INCHBLACKDUDE 2 points3 points ago

*DEM THIGHS*

[–]jonesy852 -1 points0 points ago

Mmmm, Shaniqua been eatin down da poptarts. Makin dem thighs nice n thick like.

[–]thefifthwit 0 points1 point ago

White people have fat thighs too. Jerk.

[–]I_have_no_username 6 points7 points ago

Ok, from that angle, yes they do look like dinosaurs.

[–]Elidor 6 points7 points ago

Gives new meaning to 'bird's eye view.'

[–]TheAngerOfPanger 5 points6 points ago

You came to the wrong neighborhood, mother fucker.

[–]007T 2 points3 points ago

[–]Upperguy 0 points1 point ago

Damn you're right, that girl does have a phat ass.

[–]frankster -1 points0 points ago

that's amazing even though the birds aren't properly in focus!

[–]no_egrets 0 points1 point ago

Right-hand bird isn't in focus. Left-hand bird is in focus but is blurred because it's moving.

[–]Evil_Bonsai 0 points1 point ago

Upvote for 'whilst'.

[–]Upvote_Unlocked 2 points3 points ago

Instantly thought of Jurrasic park

[–]tamnoswal 6 points7 points ago

Who says phone camera? Do you put pepper and salt in your soup?

[–]hornwort 19 points20 points ago

He's not referring to a phone with a camera in it, aka a camera phone.

He's referring to the camera on his phone, aka a phone camera.

Do you say beet pickles, cob on the corn or lubricant silicone? Because you're the one confusing nouns and adjectives.

ಠ_ಠ

PS sweet photo and sweeter concept.

[–]tamnoswal 0 points1 point ago

There's nothing wrong about 'phone camera,' it's just weird.

I've heard of pickled beets but not of a camera'd phone; and I'm almost positive that 'camera' and 'phone' are both nouns. I think you may be confused about who is actually confused amidst the confusing confusion.

PS Photo is awesome. Keep placing that 'item that allows you to capture photographs and make phone calls' in new and interesting places!

[–]EndymionAwake -5 points-4 points ago

But you don't put the camera part of your phone on the ground, you put the whole of the phone (that happens to have a camera in it) on the ground.

He was putting the whole of his phone on the ground, not just the camera part of it.

[–]superkidney -1 points0 points ago

but if he said "phone lens" it would make no goddamn sense.

[–]EndymionAwake 0 points1 point ago

I fully agree. Because you don't put your phone lens on the ground. Just like how you don't put your phone camera on the ground, or your phone antenna, etc. etc. You put your phone on the ground. If you feel it is relevant to mention your phone has a camera, you say you put your camera phone on the ground.

[–]Skulder 2 points3 points ago

Actually, some fourteen to twelve percent of people do.

[–]furrymurray2020 3 points4 points ago

Or how about a jelly and peanut butter sandwich?

[–]NNYPhillipJFry 4 points5 points ago

Reminds me of George RR Martins writing. If I recall he does similar things as to not sound cliche. "He would give a leg and an arm" I am sure he did it a few times.

[–]chabuya 5 points6 points ago

I think Ice and Fire itself sounds wrong, atleast in german it's much more usual to say Fire and Ice.

[–]dunchen22 4 points5 points ago

Fire and Ice sounds more natural in English too.

[–]selflessGene 0 points1 point ago

There is a popular restaurant chain called 'Fire and Ice' in New England

[–]NNYPhillipJFry 0 points1 point ago

Isn't it called Fire and Ice?

[–]rydan 1 point2 points ago

Or how about a sandwich jelly and butter peanut?

FTFY

[–]mh048t 2 points3 points ago

This is scary O_O

[–]tf5_bassist 1 point2 points ago

Damn. That's actually a really great photo.

[–]norobo132 0 points1 point ago

Anyone else thinking of "Bugs Life"?

[–]Meepster23 0 points1 point ago

Don't.. Ever.. do that again... EVER!

[–]YourCurvyGirlfriend 2 points3 points ago

As a photographer, this just blew my mind as something I would have never thought of on my own. Awesome.

[–]shanninhailey 0 points1 point ago

are you at carowinds in this picture?

[–]mrbunnyfoofoo 1 point2 points ago

the epic plight for bread.

[–]Kreivi 0 points1 point ago

Pretty sure those birds know vaguely that the humans set something up for them.

Their eyes are just a big giveaway.

[–]hustlecat 0 points1 point ago

Crows are some of the most intelligent creatures, so I'm quite sure they do know.

[–]ace9213 0 points1 point ago

Imagine being a bug.

[–]diy_tripper 0 points1 point ago

Something something wrong hood, motherfucker!

[–]Freddie_AppsHero 2 points3 points ago

Crows? Crows are awesome.

[–]Puckmarin 2 points3 points ago

Indeed, they are Jackdaws, recognisable by their beady whitish eyes

[–]Freddie_AppsHero 2 points3 points ago

I fucking love watching crows. You can tell that they're intelligent; they move slowly, hop around, look around the area like they're thinking what to do next, then they do it.

[–]Ty_lerrr 1 point2 points ago

Crows are smart you know? What would you do if they stole your phone and flew off with it?

[–]RalphMacchio -1 points0 points ago

I like how they look huge compared to the poor little people.

[–]aholtz -1 points0 points ago

You're on the wrong bench

Motherfucker.

[–]cranialduggery 1 point2 points ago

IMAGINE if we were the about the size of that bread crumb. FEROCIOUS!!! ack!

[–]grospoliner 1 point2 points ago

It's like a late 90s fps.

[–]canuckfanatic 0 points1 point ago

I guess that's what you'd call a...

...risky click.

[–]DarthJacob 0 points1 point ago

Truly terrifying.

[–]Sonicboom510 1 point2 points ago

How were you able to snap the photo?

[–]Stonelocomotief[S] 2 points3 points ago

I actually didn't take a photo. I just recorded a movie of 90s and just took a screenshot of a good moment.

[–]masterboat 1 point2 points ago

Pro-tip: if you're using an iPhone and you want to snap a pic without hands on the screen, you can plug in Apple headphones and get a picture by clicking the middle button on them.

[–]JosephBartels 1 point2 points ago

How is it a camera less than one centimeter thick and with infinite "film" can take better photos than the $2,000 film camera my parents bought a few years before I was born?

It's only been a few years. What is this madness?! Things progress so fast.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]masterboat 0 points1 point ago

He means Phone's Camera.

[–]Cdresden 0 points1 point ago

It would suck to be one inch tall.

[–]Zacz1 1 point2 points ago

TIL: hungry birds are horrifying

[–]kermth 1 point2 points ago

Damn nature, you scary!

[–]whysea 0 points1 point ago

SOME ONE BIRDSWITHARMS THIS!!!

[–]wekiva 1 point2 points ago

I read somewhere that bread provides birds with no nutrition, and only fills their stomachs so they don't go find the food they need.

[–]jonesy852 -1 points0 points ago

I read somewhere that the average person produces close to 117,000 lbs of poop in their lifetime.

[–]wekiva 0 points1 point ago

I think I passed that in my teens!

[–]IntelligentVandalist 1 point2 points ago

This is terrifying.

[–]AmmoBradley 1 point2 points ago

Something so simple, yet so genius.

[–]Dud3wtf 1 point2 points ago

The world from a completely different perspective.

[–]Sullan08 0 points1 point ago

MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!

[–]Prosopagnosiape 0 points1 point ago

That's awesome man! Great idea and great shots. Crows rock.

[–]woo545 0 points1 point ago

That's fucking terrifying. Imagine being the worm.

[–]redweasel 0 points1 point ago

Reminds me of the time I was at the Staten Island Ferry terminal (on the Manhattan side, if you care). I put my digital camera on video record, dangled it from its neck strap, and chased pigeons around the floor at their level. The video was mediocre but could have been great.

[–]Arowin 0 points1 point ago

In a similar vein, here's one I took a few years ago in Venice while feeding some pigeons some peanuts http://imgur.com/vZJHU

[–]TexanInExile 0 points1 point ago

Imagine one of two things: Either the birds are 3x the size of humans, or that humans are the size of bread crumbs and this image becomes terrifying.

[–]shakycam3 0 points1 point ago

Velociraptors!!!

[–]JizzNipples 0 points1 point ago

This should go on r/photoshopbattles. It's perfect.

[–]TheHazyGhost 0 points1 point ago

Alfred Hitchcock much?

[–]Vulturas 0 points1 point ago

You just stepped in the wrong neighborhood, crumb.

[–]8_bit_dipshit 0 points1 point ago

Damned dinosaurs anyway.

[–]Jejoisland 0 points1 point ago

All I can think of is that birds truly were raptors!

[–]cptstupendous 0 points1 point ago

Which theme park are you in?

[–]selflessGene 0 points1 point ago

Birds would totally kill us if they could

[–]ballistix489 0 points1 point ago

if i were good at photo editing, i'd put the birds behind the people.

[–]wojovox 1 point2 points ago

"i find a bird's opinion of me is highly influenced by whether or not I have bread"

-Mitch Hedbeg misquote

[–]2manyhumans 0 points1 point ago

Makes me feel like I'm a tiny person, taking this picture. And there is no hope...

[–]msbubbles326 1 point2 points ago

Pretty bad-ass. Nice!

[–]porkfish66 1 point2 points ago

Upvote for whilst.

I'd give another upvote for the pic but they won't let me.

[–]TroubleInTurtleTown 0 points1 point ago

Haha. That's fucking terrifying.

[–]UnknownArchive -5 points-4 points ago

Downvoted for using "whilst"

[–]MgmtNinja -3 points-2 points ago

Nope, nope, nope. Those birds are spies...
