Lol with MS Paint. Make a selection around the face in it, hold shift, click and drag. You now are a Snake Face master!

[–]taosahpiah 24 points25 points ago

Windows 98 + Internet Explorer

[–]ilovefacebook 28 points29 points ago

you just make a brush out of the face. use pen tool to create spline. fill with brush.

[–]sweet_nightmares 0 points1 point ago

The brush would only be monochrome though, wouldn't it?

[–]therightclique 0 points1 point ago

No.

Make the gorilla as a brush, brush away!

[–]jimothyjohn 14 points15 points ago

  1. Open (cereal box) image
  2. Copy your gorilla face onto a new layer and place it in position.
  3. Select gorilla face layer and hold the 'Alt' key while using the arrow keys to move it in the path you want
  4. Unrustle jimmies

You will have a shit ton of layers, but over time you can simply select them all and merge them to save space if you want. It's that easy

[–]senorcartgage[S] 1 point2 points ago

Well, I've already figured that way out but it's too manual. I feel like there's way to just drag it and it'll get trailed behind

[–]dtjb 3 points4 points ago

It's not done in Ps, that suggestion is ridiculous.

Illustrator > Path > Blend.

[–]Phiddler 11 points12 points ago

it can also be done in ps making a brush out of the gorilla face.

[–]jimothyjohn 1 point2 points ago

Being in the photoshop subreddit I assumed photoshop as that is my expertise. I agree though, other programs probably have easier solutions

[–]dtjb 1 point2 points ago

I didn't mean it personally, just that the amount of time to do it that way would be ridiculous.

[–]jimothyjohn 1 point2 points ago

Understood, I didn't take offense to it

[–]AJ47 11 points12 points ago

This is the funniest post I've ever seen in all my days of reddit.

[–]MewSeventeen 0 points1 point ago

That's because it came from FunnyJunk and 4chan.

  1. Make a selection of the area you want to drag
  2. Go to Edit > Define Brush Preset, click ok
  3. Select Smudge tool and set Strength to 100%
  4. Make sure your just created brush is selected
  5. Start dragging over the area

Tadaa!

[–]jaxko 4 points5 points ago

Use the smudge tool at 100% strength.

[–]aurahack 0 points1 point ago

Comment of thread.

[–]gift_from_Hermes 4 points5 points ago

the question still remains, WHY would you want to achieve that effect?

[–]Torbun 2 points3 points ago

This is done in MS Paint. Google "paint snakes"

[–]Shopped_by_Request 2 points3 points ago

You can certainly do it in ps. Just set your image as a brush preset with the amount of spacing you want, then have a blast with it. tutorial

[–]eyeWired 0 points1 point ago

I actually wish Photoshop could do something similar to this.

Paint Shop Pro has a tool they used to call "Paint Tube"...sure it would let you recreate something equally silly to this gorilla image, but it's real value was the fact that you could set up a series of images that would randomly place as you paint.

So imagine you have a scene and you want to put down a lot of leaves....well, you could upload a bunch of leaf images and then take a few swipes of your brush, and boom! Leaves!

They haven't added anything like that into later versions, have they?

[–]TomWaters 1 point2 points ago

I don't really know of any way to easily do this in Photoshop. Defining it as a brush is the closest I can come up with but that only supports grayscale.

There's a simple method to do this in Illustrator, though, if you have access to that. It's quite simple using the Blend tool.

I could suggest a way of doing this, Try creating a "pattern" with the gorilla head, and then use the pen tool to create a path and then try running the stamp tool as a stroke on the path, might not work, but it's my guess.

funniest post

[–]jaredcheeda -1 points0 points ago

It's done in mspaint, you make a selection with the free form or star (depending on your version of windows). Then click and drag while holding down shift.

[–]Tyrien 0 points1 point ago

Smudge tool, large brush size and 100% strength.

Though this will give a much smoother effect, vs the "same image pasted copies over and over and offset slightly"

[–]Joybuzzer 0 points1 point ago

You just take your jimmies and rustle them.

[–]velkrosmaak 0 points1 point ago

Aaah... the crashed windows effect.

[–]WhiteHawaiianV2 0 points1 point ago

Ctrl + J. A lot.

[–]RubyBlye 0 points1 point ago

The image was saved as a brush with a low repeat rate. The loop is painted on, and the head is either a skillful stop, or more likely, stamped on the end of the loop.
