How did you get such a clear sky in the middle of the city? Is this a composition?

[–]soravit 17 points18 points ago

the original picture description on flickr says

This wide angle panorama is a composite of 20 pictures I took with a Hutech modified Canon EOS 5D at ISO 3200 and 35 mm f/2 lens. 16 pictures of the sky were 25-second exposures with the lens at f/2.8, whereas the bottom four pictures showing the mountain foreground are 20-second exposures with the lens at f/2. Panorama processing with PtGui Pro and addirional processing with Adobe Photoshop.

Certainly a composition, thinking it might be fake too. As in that's not a pic of the milkyway from that location.

I see so many pictures of the milky rising, whether they're compositions or not, I still envy that and want to see the milky way rise some day.

Sometimes I think we'd all be caught in a moment if we had a sky like this above us that we could see with our own eyes. I'd like to be walking at night by the beach and just see the Milky Way above...it would stunning and humbling.

I was just leaving a local beach bar in India when there was a power cut, instantly this huge starry sky appeared. It was so dizzying I almost fell over.

Where in Turkey is this? South-east?

[–]cenkozan 4 points5 points ago

It says Uludag, a mountain famous for it's winter sports attractions, in a city called Bursa, just east of Istanbul.

Come on, reddit. 18 hours is enough to shove a chocolate bar into a bird and post an image here.
