What you are missing is that this was produced on one of the christian satire sites (christwire or landoverbaptist, I forget).

You've been Poe'd.

  1. There hasn't ALWAYS been 7 billion people, it's been increasing. So the consumption rate wasn't always the same.

  2. Water gets recycled. We pee it out, animals pee it out, and it gets put back into the environment.

you forgot the long drunken hangover mornings of all of us hethens and puking it back.. ;)

I've always thought of this image as a Poe. It's really hard to believe that somebody would be this stupid and ignorant, but given what I know about creationists I can't help but wonder.

Today in science, we learn that matter cannot be created or destroyed.. Unless it's water and you drink it.

A little science doesn't do much good for clarity when it's standing right next to nothing but retardation.

Sadly, there's not much that can be done about that special kind of stupid. If someone tries to say something like that to me, I'll try explaining it to them twice, and if they refuse to listen, I stop wasting my time.

I always expect the worst in people, but I keep a sliver of hope that people will prove my pessimism wrong :P

I prefer to make baby steps. I probably won't be able to convince them their whole religion is bullshit, but I can maybe convince them that Genesis is bullshit, or Exodus etc etc

I go more for a shift in their principles, rather than their beliefs. If I can make them at least think rationally about their beliefs, maybe ponder a few hard questions.. even if they decide that they feel their religion still makes sense, I feel like I've won. I care more about spreading rationality than destroying religion.(although the latter would be a nice bit of icing)

I find more often than not that if rationality COULD take root in their ideological structure, than they wouldn't be religious in the first place XD

It's mostly hereditary :P
