My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Moorea which looks a lot like this place. Someone tried to break into our room while we were sleeping. ಠ_ಠ We had one of the best rooms, out as far as you could get with panoramic views. We went to bed early because it was windy and stormy, my wife woke me up and whispered that someone was trying to break into the room. I told her it was the wind and I tried to go back to bed. Five minutes later, I heard a noise and got up. I went over to the sliding door and there was a dude trying to jimmy our door lock. I whispered to my wife to leave the light off and call the front desk. She couldn't find the phone and when she finally did, dialing 0 did nothing. So I turned on the light and the dude jumped off the deck into his boat and motored away. The front desk didn't answer the first time we called. They finally answered the second time and said they would send security. The big fat security guy rolled up on a giant tricycle about 10 minutes later. We had to move off the over water huts, into the presidential suite because my wife was so freaked out.

I would go back in a second, it was the most amazing place I've ever been. Only 350,000 Hilton points. Hilton points have been significantly devalued in the last year, so we probably won't make it back. :(

truth be told -- in moorea at the pearl resort, the middle set of overwater bungalows is on the edge of the channel. so you can stand on the back porch, and dive into a channel full of tropical fish. this is the best thing. once you experience this, you realize these shallow water bungalows are barely better than the ones from the beach.
