i really don't understand what is so scary in slender it's just so easy to avoid him.

[–]Anshin 131 points132 points ago

I think its the fact that you are in an enclosed area in the woods in the night time, with nothing but a flashlight. All that is there are creepy pages about slender man and slender man himself. You cannot leave, your goal is to find the pages. And he is always there.

[–]motherfailure 125 points126 points ago

I just hate how much of a smug prick he is. You look directly at him, and he stands still like he wasn't following you that whole time. Asshole

[–]arudeandvulgarname 12 points13 points ago

I don't get what's scary about the guy, I mean is it the fact that hes white or is it the business suit that scares people? I mean if this guy could stand any where in the dark and scare people by wearing a suit and tie, then any of us could be him...

[–]hrkljus1 17 points18 points ago

Have you seen Marble Hornets?

[–]itlnstln 3 points4 points ago

It pretty much sparked slender-mania. I do think it's a fantastic ARG though.

[–]Ben-Hurr 6 points7 points ago

Good Idea, visiting the woods during the night time

ding

Bad Idea, staring and following people who visit the woods during the night time

[–]ScotterDay 2 points3 points ago

my god I forgot about those.

[–]OobilyBoobily 0 points1 point ago

Maybe the fact that he has, you know, no face too.

[–]Furfire 159 points160 points ago

Fuck that, it's those piano noises.

[–]The_Morbid_Toaster 55 points56 points ago

Now, I don't know anything about making mods, but if someone could replace Slenderman with a Pianist, this game would be way more enjoyable.

[–]Pokemaniac_Ron 115 points116 points ago

YOU WILL LISTEN TO THE BRANDENBURG CONCERTO UNTIL YOU LOVE IT!

[–]hoodatninja 12 points13 points ago

FASTER, PLAY IT FASTER!!!

[–]That1guyUmightknow 7 points8 points ago

DANCE THE DANCE OF LIFE WITH ME BRIAN!!!

[–]Bastard_Dicks 6 points7 points ago

Adrian Brody?

[–]grimpoteuthis 1 point2 points ago

Adrian Brody. Someone link Lemonquest, I can't on my phone.

[–]Nichtmara 1 point2 points ago

Yes you can!! You're just too lazy :(

[–]grimpoteuthis 0 points1 point ago

Wait, how? I'm new to smartphones.

[–]Nichtmara 0 points1 point ago

You just go to your web browser and copy whatever it is you need, such as the website you were talking about.

Then in the comments, at least with my iPhone, you click the screen and it allows you to paste.

And of course you do this [ word/phrase you want to be hyperlinked. ] and then these() around the link.

Like this

[–]Regulith 0 points1 point ago

Slenderquest

[–]Sionysion 11 points12 points ago

And every time you looked directly at him, he would smash the keys down on the piano.

Or they should make a pedo bear mod, like the one for Amnesia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SL0iGSBR7Y&feature=fvwrel

[–]Sekiath 2 points3 points ago

That was awesome.

[–]chrisbucks 2 points3 points ago

For some reason when I read 'Pianist' I thought of The Entertainer.. Actually that still seems pretty scary.

[–]1stLtObvious 1 point2 points ago

Who wants ice cream!? MWAHAHAHAHA!

[–]chrisbucks 0 points1 point ago

Is this a reference to ice cream trucks playing the song? Down here they play Greensleeves, which does not motivate me to want their filthy ice cream.

[–]Nes-Of-Onett 1 point2 points ago

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DK88pzmUiM

Or just replace the sounds with this.

[–]Captain_Bojangles 5 points6 points ago

And the fucking crickets !!!

[–]I_am_the_legit_Rmony 3 points4 points ago

Fuck that, it's the random static and SCREEEEARP noises when he teleports that nearly made me cry last night playing it. Never should have played the new version..

[–]FOGHORNROOSTER 5 points6 points ago

I downloaded slender last night and after playing for twenty minutes it just seemed way too easy and boring. I looked at the description of the download and it said "attention: slender man not yet added".

[–]MegurineLuka14 2 points3 points ago

How!?

[–]EsteemedGentleman 3 points4 points ago

Do the pages actually say anything? Giving insight on the Slender Man or is it just a manual task?

[–]ANBU_Spectre 20 points21 points ago

They say random creepy shit like "Don't look or it takes you", "No eyes, always watches", "Can't run", "Follows", "no no no no no no no no" and the last one I remember is "Leave me alone". Usually accompanied by creepy drawings. Each time you get a note, the ambient music/sound gets louder and more intense, and Slenderman gets faster, sometimes teleporting right in front of you to mess with you.

[–]georgeguy007 35 points36 points ago

I always like to think that the "no no no no no" was written by Shia LaBeouf

[–]ANBU_Spectre 9 points10 points ago

BUMBLEBEE!!!!

[–]brumsmithy 5 points6 points ago

Or man slenderman is Shia labeouf :O creeping through the woods, quiet quiet

[–]leloupbleu 4 points5 points ago

Actual cannibal Shia LeBeouf.

[–]EsteemedGentleman 14 points15 points ago

That's pretty cool, but cliche.

I don't like the simple, "Help me..." "Don't look..." stuff. I would like to see weird diary entries and backstory elements. Firsthand accounts on the Slender Man would be much cooler.

[–]ANBU_Spectre 14 points15 points ago

Yeah, it would. I don't though, I feel like that would kind of... diminish the game? It's about not knowing where the hell you are, why you're even looking for the notes, why you're RECORDING the experience, and why a tall, well dressed faceless gentleman is chasing you in the dark. The game's mainly jump scares, and while many people on here don't find that scary, it still freaks you out when you're just walking along and a burst of static on the screen lets you know that Slendy got bored and decided to jump right in front of you, somewhere in the darkness. And don't even get me started on the bath house.

[–]graveyardgirl 12 points13 points ago

Yeah, fuck the bath house. Really though, I always figured that the recording part was because the game is so inspired by Marble Hornets. I don't know if the majority of people playing Slender has even seen Marble Hornets though.

[–]ANBU_Spectre 4 points5 points ago

It probably is, because that was the first big webseries to really expose a lot of people to Slenderman. So, if you're playing a game and it turns out your character is going around holding a video camera, you can kind of guess what that's a nod to.

[–]person749 1 point2 points ago

The Blair Witch Project?

[–]Dirigibleduck 1 point2 points ago

I would have preferred a Trollhunter game.

[–]Anshin 4 points5 points ago

Fuck that bath house

[–]ANBU_Spectre 5 points6 points ago

Seriously, I wish I could fucking blow it up.

[–]Anshin 2 points3 points ago

Well, they added a new mode called marble hornets which gives a slight backstory. Before it begins it says that someone found the following tape in the woods. Makes it like blair witch creepy.

[–]Jungle2266 0 points1 point ago

Sounds a bit Alan Wake-ish. Anything similar?

[–]GoodLuckCowboy -1 points0 points ago

No, Slender is basically the laziest horror game in existence right now.
~hyperbole~

[–]evilbob2200 2 points3 points ago

Alan wake did it better

[–]Anshin 0 points1 point ago

I never won alan wake, but it wasn't so scary as it was brighter for one, and from what i played, there wasn't a single beast hunting you, only smaller, weaker enemies.

[–]Timomimo 75 points76 points ago

It's just one of those things Reddit needs to pretend is scary so it's funny.

[–]Frankenfish 3 points4 points ago

It's not even an urban legend. It was invented by the internet. So there isn't even the sense of "maybe it is real" as there is with demons or aliens

[–]Jachard 30 points31 points ago

maybe it is real

demons

ಠ_ಠ

[–]Frankenfish 15 points16 points ago

I don't believe in demons, but Demons have existed in culture for a long time. There is a greater sense of mystery to them. For instance, why did we invent demons? Why are they so prevalent across different cultures?

Are they real? Probably not., But we don't know the origins of demon mythology as we do with Slenderman. So you have to wonder what stories and experiences inspired demons

[–]sarcasticmrfox 6 points7 points ago

We created Demons for the the same reason we created Slenderman, we like to be scared.

[–]Homeschooled316 0 points1 point ago

I think the fact that demons are manifested in different cultures different ways says more about human psychology. For as long as people have existed, we've had freedom to mostly choose what we do, but often to stupid or inhumane things that we regret and don't understand when we think in hindsight. From that we get this idea of invisible manipulators and temptation all over the place. If you look at demons in other cultures, you also find the idea of demons being the cause of a day of bad luck, tormenting you for something you did or just for no reason at all.

[–]Iwokeupwithoutapillo 0 points1 point ago

YOU DON'T KNOW MAN

YOU DON'T KNOW FOR SURE

[–]joshicshin 2 points3 points ago

If you could suspend disbelief for a moment, I have a suggestion.

You noticed that only those who look for slenderman see him? It's strange right? What if Slenderman only exists because people believe in him, and that belief makes him real? The more people see him, the more real he could become.

[–]julia-sets 0 points1 point ago

He's a Tulpa.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]hrkljus1 3 points4 points ago

Seriously though has no one here seen Marble Hornets? When it started it was really scary as fuck, especially to me since I didn't even hear about the concept of ARG's. It was just some guy showing us tapes of his friend filming some scary guy who was stalking him.

[–]the_real 0 points1 point ago

ARG's?

Edit: Nevermind.

[–]wowultimation 2 points3 points ago

Alternate reality games.

[–]hrkljus1 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, Alternate Reality Games, at first they kind of pretended it was real so it made it scary as hell.

[–]snoharm 0 points1 point ago

Why is it annoying that people enjoy things you don't?

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]snoharm 3 points4 points ago

I think the reasons it's not annoying is that I haven't looked around the internet looking for references of things I don't like. Just lighten up and skip over Slender posts.

[–]Masterbrew 1 point2 points ago

That is also part of what makes it great. Even though everyone knows it is 100% invented, it still manages to evoke genuine fear or unease in people. There is something so fundamentally creepy about Slenderman's looks and myth that it defies rationality.

[–]ScreamingVegetable 6 points7 points ago

Once you get the the 6th page it isn't all that easy to avoid him, at least from my experiences.

[–]nBdyy 6 points7 points ago

Fear is almost always self induced. If you want to be scared, you will be scared.

I for one enjoy scaring myself during movies or video games because it gives you a thrill and adrenaline rush you can't really get very often.

If you go into a scary movie or video game with the intention to make fun of it or with the impression it's stupid, it's going to be funny and stupid. If you want to be scared and over exaggerate little things, you're going to shit your pants.

The human mind is an amazing thing.

[–]slacksushi 2 points3 points ago

It's always slightly annoying whenever that one person watches the horror movie with you and the entire time he/she is critiquing the scary parts, like you're supposed to beat the movie or something. You're supposed to get scared, just go with it.

[–]nBdyy 0 points1 point ago

This is true.

If you're going to watch a scary movie with other people they all have to be on the same page or it's going to suck.

It can be fun to make fun of scary movies because they can be quite terrible and hilarious. But if a majority of the group wants to just be scared, it's simply rude to try and joke around and ruin the experience.

[–]Slendy_Man 6 points7 points ago

You can not avoid me.

[–]Dakotaleek 3 points4 points ago

Its the goddamn jump scares

[–]SirTubz 2 points3 points ago

I played it last night with some friends. If he's anywhere near you, your screen looks at him and you cant move. But i agree, it wasn't scary.

[–]notsurewhatiam 2 points3 points ago

Reddit is full of pussies that's why.

[–]Dweebiechimp 1 point2 points ago

My sentiment exactly. He startled me at first, but then I was just like "Oh hey, its you again... Well I guess I will just go this way then..."

[–]Bronkic 0 points1 point ago

Well, I have no idea how to avoid him.

[–]norealpurposehere2 1 point2 points ago

That no matter what you do you always lose. Even if you win you lose.

He's an unstoppable force and even if he gets you, you have no idea what he really does to you. You just know your game is over.

[–]skullbeats -1 points0 points ago

The Rake is way scarier, why don't they make a game about him?

[–]TheyreEatingHer 1 point2 points ago

How do you avoid him? No matter what I do he always gets me

[–]MontegoBarbados 0 points1 point ago

Bottom line is whether or not you successfully immerse yourself in the game. Same goes with movies than some people do not find scary, like Blair Witch Project, haunted house attractions, etc.

If a part of you always keeps in mind this is a game, this is a movie, etc. then you won't enjoy it fully.

[–]ravelle 0 points1 point ago

I thought that too until you find the first post and that fucking music starts to play and your camera starts to crap out.

[–]Webkun 156 points157 points ago

[–]Jungle2266 22 points23 points ago

If you cover the top and bottom half of this GIF (leaving a slither uncovered in the middle) you can't see the cane moving in the middle. When you uncover it, it looks like it is.

[–]swampertkamm85 101 points102 points ago

What the actual fuck are you talking about?

[–]Battletooth 17 points18 points ago

I just covered my entire screen in smudges of fingerprints to see what he's talking about. I think he just got me to spend 5 minutes ruining my screen and all for nothing, because it still didn't work.

[–]Jungle2266 65 points66 points ago

[–]SgtBanana 2 points3 points ago

That's because you don't know what you're doing. The gif has absolutely no motion in the middle section. The movement consists of only a few frames, none of which effect the middle. It was a weird observation on his part, but he is technically right.

[–]Laziness 9 points10 points ago

I've split up the frames and also crudely covered the top and bottom. I see a moving cane. In fact since the only horizontal scan lines that don't change are the bottom where the horse is, then I'd have to cover the entire top half of the image to see no movement.

So uhh... what?

[–]Jungle2266 2 points3 points ago

The best kind of right. Though, I'm not sure how so many people either can't see the optical illusion or have no idea what I mean in general. It's turned into one of those comment's I wish I never made.

[–]Battletooth 0 points1 point ago

I seriously left a slither there and I can still see the cane on the middle. I even also covered the right half of the screen. I love optical illusions but this is driving me insane! I want there to be nothing, but there's always something!

[–]Jungle2266 0 points1 point ago

That just shows how good an illusion it is then if you are unable to see it any other way, but I swear there isn't a single image in that GIF of the cane being dead centre i.e 90° to the guy, it's just your brain imagining it is there.

[–]Aziral 0 points1 point ago

If you do it right it looks like the cane never moves.

[–]SaikoGekido 12 points13 points ago

It's the secret ritual to summon Slenderman.

Quick, throw salt over your shoulder!

[–]SonicFrost 9 points10 points ago

But shitty, slender has no eyes!

[–]FosterPringles 9 points10 points ago

Oh god

[–]SonicFrost 2 points3 points ago

Yay! A picture from Shitty! And it's horrifically violent, too!

[–]swampertkamm85 3 points4 points ago

Slendy_Watercolour

[–]Kashik 0 points1 point ago

And I'm pretty sure he isn't smiling neither...

[–]curtdammit -1 points0 points ago

Are those M&M'S?

[–]TheFNG -1 points0 points ago

You are a god amongst men.

[–]IAlmostHadAPregnant 5 points6 points ago

In his eyes? And piss him off!? Are you insane!?

[–]Hesho95 1 point2 points ago

Ah, but that's where you're mistaken! "No eyes, always watching"

[–]LocrianMode 0 points1 point ago

He doesn't have any eyes. I imagine he's self conscious about it, which is why he hides in a dark forest.

[–]Nannooskeeska 8 points9 points ago

Are you saying to cover up the entire thing?

[–]carpeggio 3 points4 points ago

[–]CakeSmasher 0 points1 point ago

If you cover one half, it's a funky guy with a strobe light cane.

[–]Jungle2266 1 point2 points ago

If you cover the whole guy it's a surprised penis 'waving' erratically.

[–]Unggoy_Soldier 34 points35 points ago

If the game doesn't scare you, congratulations. No, seriously, congratulations. What a stupendous accomplishment. You should post about it.

[–]dragonnovsvd 6 points7 points ago

Hmmm..... Something tells me you're being sarcastic.

[–]cinemadness -1 points0 points ago

NNNNAAAAWWW, he's being TOOOOOTAAALLLYY SEEEEERRIIIIIOOOOOUUUUSSSSS.

[–]dragonnovsvd -1 points0 points ago

Seems legit.

[–]TheKronk 2 points3 points ago

I think these are the same people who write Yelp reviews.

[–]Amon-a-boat 36 points37 points ago

[–]Unggoy_Soldier 13 points14 points ago

My favorite interpretation of the Slender Man is that he's a manifestation of a memetic phenomenon. As in, he exists insofar as we allow him to by knowing about him and building his mythos, and unlike, say, a rock or a living creature, he doesn't exist unless someone, somewhere is giving him life by imagining him. I guess one good way to make sure there's always someone thinking about the Slender Man would be to make an incredibly popular game about him.

Too bad it's a bit difficult to delve into the realm of pseudophilosophical paranormality while there are complete amateurs botching the whole thing on youtube with terrible acting and filmography.

But I do like the way that the fiction avoids conventional paranormal tropes associated with ghosts, demonic entities etc and characterizes the Slender Man as difficult to define in and of himself. Traditional horror usually has some kind of fathomable motive, even it's just primal malevolence. Slendy? Well, he's just Slendy. Doing his thing, snappin' yo organs up. Not really defined as evil, per se. As I understand it.

[/ramble]...

[–]BRBbear 3 points4 points ago

Did you watch the anime "Paranoia Agent"?

[–]Unggoy_Soldier 1 point2 points ago

No. Why? ☻_☻

[–]BRBbear 2 points3 points ago

i believe it has some crucial elements occurring along those lines.

[–]barron224 0 points1 point ago

How did you make that face?

[–]ImAWhaleBiologist 1 point2 points ago

It's the same premise, though a little more graphic and baseball batty.

[–]Gurgy 0 points1 point ago

Bent, golden, baseball batty.

[–]barron224 1 point2 points ago

Soooo.....the Slender Man is Freddy Krueger?

[–]Notsoseriousone 1 point2 points ago

You make it sound almost Lovecraftian.

[–]cinemadness 0 points1 point ago

That sounds like the plot of "Wes Craven's New Nightmare".

[–]Brandonspikes 44 points45 points ago

The game is not scary at all,

[–]KosherInfidel 9 points10 points ago

Thank you. I played it for a bit and thought it was pretty fucking boring. If you are scared by this...sheesh

[–]Dweebiechimp 15 points16 points ago

Its no Amnesia at any rate.

[–]LocrianMode 7 points8 points ago

I actually found Slender to be scarier than Amnesia. Amnesia is a great game, no doubt, but I wasn't really scared, so halfway through I just stopped using my lantern and tinder boxes to try and make it scarier (which didn't really work). Slender still consistently freaks me out.

EDIT: Perhaps it's because in Amnesia, hiding is actually a viable tactic, whereas in Slender you pretty much just run until he gets you.

[–]neagrosk 5 points6 points ago

Yeah but when you die in slender for the tenth time you really don't get anything more out of it and the slenderman himself just kind of becomes a nuisance.

[–]LocrianMode 7 points8 points ago

For me it's about the pressure of trying to complete the goal before Slenderman inevitably gets you. In Amnesia you can pretty much take your sweet time, so it's feels less tense to me. To each their own.

[–]Chimerathon 0 points1 point ago

I really don't think this game was meant to have longevity beyond a few attempts. The reason people keep talking about it is because other people keep discovering it for the first time, and it's pretty fucking scary if you have no prior knowledge of the game.

[–]Tickle-Monster 1 point2 points ago

Have you played Where am I? It's by the same guys that made Slender. I thought it was pretty scary. The anxiety is much greater in Where am I.

Edit: http://www.parsecproductions.net/games/whereami.html

[–]Dweebiechimp 0 points1 point ago

Slender man gets boring. After he scared me the first time it just started to degrade. It went from a scare, to a startle, to being a frustrating obstacle I had to keep avoiding.

[–]l34512 6 points7 points ago

Play it at night. And try to immerse yourself in the story. With video games, it's COMPLETELY your choice to be scared. I could play through all of amnesia without reacting if I wanted to. And it's really more fun if you just let yourself be scared by it.

[–]person749 0 points1 point ago

That's what I did with Slender. I've tried Amnesia, but got stuck in the first level and was just frustrated and bored.

Oh no there is wind and my vision is distorting! Lame.

I've heard it gets better, but it just seemed pretty cliche lame and I didn't feel like continuing. Penumbra was better at immersing you right away, and with Slender you are thrown right into the mood immediately.

[–]Never-Nude-Prude 10 points11 points ago

Michael and Gavin from Rooster Teeth had fun playing it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_TCWMoesGo

A little forewarning: Michael will murder your ears if you're wearing headphones.

[–]LykDisIfUcryerrytime 0 points1 point ago

Dude that was horrible. Nothing but screaming the whole time. Thanks for the warning either way.

[–]FaipDeOaid 7 points8 points ago

The hash flinging, thash ringing, flinging...eh...

[–]Zexis 7 points8 points ago

Part of it is the hype. Part of it is the fear of the unknown, the "Where is he?" factor. If you let yourself get worked up, as with most things, you'll be afraid.

If you play thinking "Pfft, I have HUGE balls!" then naw, Slendy probably won't phase you much.

[–]Masterbrew 0 points1 point ago

As usual with hype, a lot of people will act reactionary and try to prove that a certain thing isn't worthy of its hype. Which in this case is easy if you are a person who: isn't easily scared, and determined to prove someone else wrong. Some of these people sadly even go as far as to call the game shit ...

[–]KaoticKarma 13 points14 points ago

Learned about Slender man about a month ago when I was tearing through /r/nosleep

And every since then, I hear and see references about Slender EVERYWHERE, which makes me draw the conclusion that the time for Slender and I to meet is drawing near.

It's got me shaking in my wee lil' boots :'(

[–]dvfaa 6 points7 points ago

After watching Marble Hornets I refuse to play Slender lol

[–]satopunch89 1 point2 points ago

I love that series, but due to me being very paranoid, I decided it best not to finish it, so I can still do that sleep thing people sometimes talk about.

[–]Jimmies_Rustler 4 points5 points ago

Don't play the underwhelming game. Watch the many youtube series and read a few blogs. At least do yourself a favor and watch Marble Hornets, it's pretty good. Scary? A lil bit. But by the end you are rooting for the human characters. You forget that it started as something that tried to pass itself as "real footage" and just take it in as another webseries.

Edit: For anyone interested: http://marblehornets.wikidot.com/comprehensive-timeline#toc5

Use common sense to follow the timeline (there are certain parts you should skip in order to avoid spoilers), or simply post to /r/MarbleHornets

[–]respectwalk 1 point2 points ago

It's been around for at least 3 years... I think you're safe.

[–]RecallsIncorrectly 0 points1 point ago

You're experiencing the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, which is a type of cognitive bias. So I think it's safe to relax.

[–]Moncole 5 points6 points ago

I played Slender got 3 papers and Slenderman got me, dont know what the big deal is.

[–]mamahustle 2 points3 points ago

The sound effects in this game terrifies me. I can watch it on stream all day and laugh at other people when they freak out, but I can't play it myself...... Ashamed -__-

[–]SSMFM 0 points1 point ago

[–]AxelCaprio 0 points1 point ago

Took me a while to realise Slenderman was in the picture, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw him.

[–]skullbeats 0 points1 point ago

I just got a mini heart attack from that

[–]AxelCaprio 1 point2 points ago

Sorry.. D:

[–]Clue000 0 points1 point ago

I did the same. I looked at Patrick's dialogue. The Spongebob's. And I was like. Heheh, yeah th- OH MY GOD, HE'S IN THE CORNER.

[–]AxelCaprio 0 points1 point ago

Corner? He's behind you.

[–]cinemadness 0 points1 point ago

I'm in my bed. HA!

[–]AxelCaprio 0 points1 point ago

Lying on your back? Behind you is under the bed. Lying on your stomach? Slenderman can climb.

[–]cinemadness 0 points1 point ago

FUCK!

[–]chunakis -1 points0 points ago

Deadspace is a way scarier game.

[–]Bromagnon 2 points3 points ago

ah yes a game that has actual FUN!

fuck this slenderman

[–]happiest_tree_friend 9 points10 points ago

Horror games arent as good when you have insane weapons like isaac had. Evasion always creeps me out the most in horror games. Thats what made amnesia so good

[–]burningpineapples 6 points7 points ago

And what makes Fallout good when you are low level, forget to buy ammo, and need to go into a mirelurk den. ;_;

Same goes with Allan Wake. In the beginning when you have a low-power flashlight and less than fifteen revolver rounds, it is freaky as hell. However, when you progress through the game and have high-powered lanterns and flare guns, it isn't that bad, mostly because you can be ambushed by 10 guys who surround you completely and kill them in ten seconds.

Apparently you've never seen a necromorph on a PC with max graphics. Fuck. That. Shit. A big part of why that game is scary is lighting.

Eternal Darkness > Amnesia Any "scary" game

[–]sgohagan -1 points0 points ago

Seconded. That game got me into Cthulhu.

[–]thadood2 0 points1 point ago

That game got very boring for me, very quickly

[–]Heroshade 1 point2 points ago

"Amnesia is scarier."

[–]RockHardRetard 1 point2 points ago

One uses the mouse, the other the keyboard. Have a gay old time.

[–]RocKiNRanen -1 points0 points ago

Don't. Didn't you hear about the last person who dressed up as the slenderman, and became obsessed, and made a small film about it? You better hope the real Slenderman doesn't follow you around.

[–]notsurewhatiam -1 points0 points ago

Dead Space is scarier than this shit.

I don't get how, when I post this, I get what? Maybe 3 up votes?

[–]totemair 0 points1 point ago

It's all about the timing, title and a bit of luck

[–]Buckwheat15 1 point2 points ago

Im not sure if this has been posted here yet, but everyone should go and like slender source on greenlight so it can make it to steam. It is going to have 4 person co op and best of all its going to be free like the unity game

[–]js2195 0 points1 point ago

[–]Binsky89 0 points1 point ago

Can someone explain Slender Man to me like I'm 5?

[–]itlnstln 0 points1 point ago

Beat it twice and you unlock Twenty-Dollars mode. Then it's just a comedy.

I played slender with a friend drunk and we had headphones on blast. It was the least scariest game I've ever played I don't even know why there's hype behind it...

Laaaaaaame

[–]OliviaMartin212 0 points1 point ago

My friends were talking about Slenderman a few nights ago and I'm ashamed to admit now I don't have a clue what it/he is. Someone be awesome and explain to me?

[–]OliviaMartin212 0 points1 point ago

Why, thank you, good sir.

[–]FoxHound42 -1 points0 points ago

What is it that makes this game so scary? You're in the woods, which is probably the most overdone horror type area for anything, running from what looks like a plastic suit with a ping pong ball for a head. What makes it scary?

[–]Heroshade 18 points19 points ago

Imaginaaaaation.

[–]yetiFox 2 points3 points ago

It helps to have a back story on slender man. Watch marble hornets or any of the other web-series first before you play it.
