No, it's painful. I had a huge blister thing like this on my foot (it extended from my big toe into my arch area, not to the heel like this woman's foot) During finals week because I kept wearing these really cheap flip-flops from Walmart that were killing my feet. The stress from finals week, mixed with a lack of sleep, made me have a panic attack when I saw what my foot had turned into. I had to peel it off at the bathroom there...not the best moment of my life. BTW: It's not the dead skin that hurts, it's the sensitive, living skin around the area that begins to tear off with it.

Removing blistered skin is painful mainly because the skin has had no chance to naturally come away from the still fresh skin underneath.

With properly dead and pealing skin then you can remove it without any pain as long as you do not go ripping it at odd angles.

I had a cast on for a broken ankle and when it came off i must have spent a glorious half hour peeling my foot.

Don't think that is skin... looks more like a wrap of some kind, likely some spa treatment (like when you put Elmer's glue on you skin as a kid.)

This is from the Baby Foot peeling contest.

Basically this Japanese company manufactures this skin exfoliation stuff which makes the skin on your feet peel like that, and then they want you to submit photos of your foot peels for a contest.
