Looking for an image subreddit with minimal rules? Check out /r/images

A place to share interesting photographs and pictures. Feel free to post your own, but please read the rules first (see below), and note that we are not a catch-all for general images (of screenshots, comics, etc.)

Spoiler code

Please mark spoilers like this:
[text here](/spoiler)

Hover over to read.

Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

This picture was begging to be entitled "Treehouse."

[–]ddshroom[S] 227 points228 points ago

Damn.

[–]the_winged_one 195 points196 points ago

Don't worry, it'll be reposted with that title in about a week.

EDIT: not reported, damn auto-correct!

Reposts are no joke.

[–]DiarrheaOf_AnneFrank 66 points67 points ago

You wouldn't download a repost.

[–]JBOSS_08 10 points11 points ago

[–]kokiril33t 0 points1 point ago

This is the first time I actually agree with that statement.

[–]WASH_YOUR_VAGINA 16 points17 points ago

reported? Reposted!

[–]the_winged_one 61 points62 points ago

Thank you for the catch, and for spreading the word on vaginal cleanliness!

[–]Dildo_Ball_Baggins 5 points6 points ago

FemFresh keeps everyone happy.

[–]DaVersh 13 points14 points ago

[–]smacbeats 3 points4 points ago

Haha! Yes, now let me just save this picture to my hard drive, for, uh...archival purposes >_>

Holy shit, I read your edited "reposted" as reported before seeing your edit info.. :O

I was thinking "Little Prairie on the House".

[–]Sageas 0 points1 point ago

I was thinking this would make a cool minecraft build

[–]shooterlesson 12 points13 points ago

I was thinking "My gay brother and his autistic fiance bought this house for 10,000 from Bain Capital".

[–]PlumberManiac 1 point2 points ago

I think it was last time it was posted.

[–]Lord_Bumberchute 60 points61 points ago

The dead trees used to make the house are being consumed by the living trees growing on the house.

Cannibalism.

[–]seagramsextradrygin 3 points4 points ago

Oedipal.

[–]Lord_Bumberchute 15 points16 points ago

Oedipus was one baaaaad motherfucker.

[–]Anteras 94 points95 points ago

Those are some pretty high-tech solar panels you got there.

[–]SkyrimForTheDragons 15 points16 points ago

Chlorophyll and all the good stuff.

[–]AngryEnt 1 point2 points ago

Chlorophyll? More like "boraphyll"! Hahaha....

[–]Era_Ojdanic 36 points37 points ago

[–]winthepoo 24 points25 points ago

Grøndalen, Hemsedal, Norway FTFY

I knew the swedish guys living there before they moved out, it became too moist in the house. Good thing no one teared it down, but it looks like it's falling down any second now :(

(I have the cabin right next to it)

[–]winthepoo 22 points23 points ago

Sorry guys, I didn't get the whole link think, but is it ok with screenshots? http://imgur.com/a/VUsjh

[–]DeadPlayerWalking 7 points8 points ago

Can you take and post some pictures of the inside?

[–]apathy 0 points1 point ago

That's really cool! I didn't realize how far "south" this was relative to places like Tromsø or even Trondheim. How harsh are winters in this place Gol?

edit: proper spelling

[–]Mesquite_Skeet_Skeet 1 point2 points ago

What? You live in a cabin in the woods of Norway and you saw this link of your neighbor's house?

Damn. That's some reach Reddit has.

[–]PhazonZim 0 points1 point ago

Looking at the house itself it looks pretty beat up, I would think it's abandoned. I wanna see the inside.

[–]USFBUlls13 7 points8 points ago

I wonder if Santa accidently put the presents on the roof every year

[–]EquationTAKEN 18 points19 points ago

I was looking for ages trying to figure out what the point of the picture was.

I'm a Norwegian ;)

[–]SupermanV2 52 points53 points ago

I'm trying to work out why that's a spoiler.

[–]Raine94 16 points17 points ago

You've got to figure out he's Norwegian by yourself for the full effect.

[–]hoikarnage[!] 36 points37 points ago

Spoiler alert jackass!

[–]Asshole_Nord 9 points10 points ago

I'm trying to work out why you're showing up motherfucking everywhere. I upvoted you ten times just this week. If you're secretly trapped_in_reddit, then fuck you.

[–]SupermanV2 47 points48 points ago

[–]OmegasWrath 4 points5 points ago

You're missing shitty_watercolour, that was you wasn't it?

[–]SupermanV2 2 points3 points ago

Nope, just /u/Shitty_Colorize.

I just scrolled over the spoiler.

[–]dt25 6 points7 points ago

*Reluctantly raises hand *

[–]steenarie 6 points7 points ago

Is this a common theme in Norway? I have never been there and if this is common then I am going to start referring to Norwegians as Keebler elves.

[–]Sortech 7 points8 points ago

Very common. Maybe not so common with full-grown trees on them, but there's a lot of them still.

[–]TaraTainton 2 points3 points ago

[–]Rivalfox 4 points5 points ago

Slenderman's house

[–]PsionicLurker 3 points4 points ago

[–]Murmuzy 2 points3 points ago

"Trees in norway have been spotted not giving a fuck"

[–]SupermanV2 6 points7 points ago

I can't believe the roots don't destroy the structural integrity of the roof.

[–]1karuga 2 points3 points ago

Same here. My first thoughts were: Photoshop or filled with dirt.

[–]karmacorn 2 points3 points ago

I'd love to see a photo of the inside - roots everywhere!

[–]touchmahtots 1 point2 points ago

I feel like this somehow represents reddit....

[–]Oblimix 3 points4 points ago

Grass roof is pretty common in my country.

Apparently it serves as good insulation.

[–]Varconis 2 points3 points ago

I've always wondered what about all the animals? Don't the insects start to get in through the nooks and crannies? (I'm talking ants and worms mostly)

[–]LizardArmyOfJFK 3 points4 points ago

Am I having déjà vu or is this definitely a repost that I've seen a bunch before? I was surprised seeing nobody pointing it out here. Anyway it's an awesome picture so I don't really care

[–]Matrinka 3 points4 points ago

This rooftop gardening trend is getting out of hand. Just look at the size of those carrots!

[–]mrhatestheworld 7 points8 points ago

All I can see is the up vote built into the houae

[–]JewBoySandler 4 points5 points ago

Houae. That's a new one.

[–]trittico 3 points4 points ago

This reminds me of the kudzu vines that run rampant across the Southeastern US, especially in Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina

Here's a website that has pictures documented

[–]WildfireFox 0 points1 point ago

I woodn't have guessed this was possible.

[–]rotorcowboy 5 points6 points ago

/r/trees would be blown away.

[–]Ny4nC4t 4 points5 points ago

we are [5]

[–]chancrescolex 1 point2 points ago

Wow that's pretty cool. We should make a subreddit for pics like this. Maybe r/trees

[–]LeadSunglasses 1 point2 points ago

See this is what reddit has done to me: every time I see the word "trees" I expect something COMPLETELY different...

[–]BlueVengeance 3 points4 points ago

Get down from there tree, you are drunk.

[–]yngvius11 0 points1 point ago

First thing I saw was the upvote on the right side of the house. Oh, and the tres too.

[–]SlyLikeAFox7 0 points1 point ago

Nature finds a way.

[–]THES8N 0 points1 point ago

This belongs on /r/trees

[–]with_a_leadpipe 1 point2 points ago

The trees were there first and the house was built around them.

Is it trees for a house or is it a house for a trees?

[–]OBNOXIOUSNAME 1 point2 points ago

Jesus, that's beautiful.

[–]cakelamotta 1 point2 points ago

I love Carraba's!

[–]Retro21 1 point2 points ago

That's on the road down from the Highland isn't it?

[–]CuppyMcCake 1 point2 points ago

There are actually quite a few buildings here in Atlanta with trees and plants growing on top of them. Nature finds a way!

[–]lunatickfish 1 point2 points ago

Fuck you house, I'm a motherfuckin' tree!

[–]SometimesTea 1 point2 points ago

Isn't this tree cannibalism?

[–]seymour47 1 point2 points ago

Who has been repainting that house?!

[–]dudeness11 1 point2 points ago

Familiar face on the front page! Makes my day.

[–]Tcloud 1 point2 points ago

Sadly, the uncleaned rain gutters of my house look similar.

[–]hebruise 1 point2 points ago

Grandchildren reuniting with their grandparents.

[–]dubled 1 point2 points ago

Sweet green roof. Where do those trees find soil, isn't that needed?

[–]realmenwearkilts 1 point2 points ago

Harmony House

[–]reb0014 1 point2 points ago

how did they get enough light while covered by the house to bust out?

[–]guenther_ 1 point2 points ago

X-post to r/microgrowery with title: "day 67 of flowering, ready for harvest?"

[–]sugarinthetank 1 point2 points ago

I would decorate the hell out of those come christmas time.

[–]JesusJones207 1 point2 points ago

[–]helemaalbigT 1 point2 points ago

I think I've seen this before; isn't this near Fort William in Scotland, near the end of the West Highland Way?

[–]techstress 1 point2 points ago

there's people that do that for the environment too. called a green roof.

[–]AjdinSamurai 1 point2 points ago

Trees,trees everywhere Yo.

[–]scatmanjeans 1 point2 points ago

Yes, that is a tree.

Nature's way of saying "fuck you santa claus!"

[–]smokemon80 1 point2 points ago

[–]NutAllergySufferer 0 points1 point ago

I honestly used to think this kind of stuff was what /r/trees was about.

[–]qbg 0 points1 point ago

This is why you don't grow trees inside your house.

[–]mapkinase 0 points1 point ago

Mom: Sorry, your dad's oxygen machine was getting too expensive, so we had to rent out the spare rooms.

[–]PoisenPawn 0 points1 point ago

[–]Mengwiches 0 points1 point ago

The way things are going it looks like there could be an r/treesgrowingonthings. Is there anything like that yet?

[–]pokl3 0 points1 point ago

whats it look like on the inside?

[–]-Peter 0 points1 point ago

Just more evidence that "trees" tear homes apart.

[–]tsintse 0 points1 point ago

[–]EddyJawbreaker 0 points1 point ago

Bonfire!

[–]saywhatisobvious 1 point2 points ago

Not what I expected...

[–]Zavorin -1 points0 points ago

It's amazing how nature just reclaims what was rightfully it's own in the first place.

[–]Void23 0 points1 point ago

Fuck your shit I'm a tree and I really do not give a fuck about your domicile.

[–]RiiBzxX 1 point2 points ago

[–]tapdathoe 0 points1 point ago

[–]UghImRegistered 1 point2 points ago

This kills the house.

[–]akronpunk41 0 points1 point ago

I love pictures like this, the way they capture nature's dominance over anything man creates.

[–]Ascetiq -1 points0 points ago

[–]Nelvibus 0 points1 point ago

Pictures like this always remind me how temporary we are and that, given x amount of time, nature will eventually wipe out our footprint. Awesome photo.

[–]vVvMaze 1 point2 points ago

I dont understand reddit. I posted this same picture a couple weeks ago and it got downvoted to 0......wtf

[–]messiahcakes 0 points1 point ago

Silly engineers! They didn't account for the extra weight of seasonal tree growth....and now the roof is caving in.

[–]deflip 0 points1 point ago

Excuse me, I believe you are posting in the wrong subreddit. We here at reddit have an entire section devoted to trees.

[–]triel187 0 points1 point ago

[–]bluepill2 0 points1 point ago

Awesome shaders but looks like there are some clipping issues.

[–]TriffidSympathizer 0 points1 point ago

Some people find this kind of plant behaviour aggressive, but look at that photo, it's so beautiful. I love to see large flora integrating themselves into our civilsation. We really can live together peacefully, it's a shame the humans have fled the house in fear.

[–]arcademachin3 0 points1 point ago

Is the whole house filled with dirt?

[–]sccrstud92 0 points1 point ago

So what happens if you post something like this to r/trees? Do they get mad?

[–]jaythehitman 0 points1 point ago

[–]Budster650 0 points1 point ago

I question the structural integrity of this house.

I guess I shouldn't, since it's been holding up these trees for who knows how many years.

To young Humanity,

I'll claim it back, just like before,

And all the world will see,

There's nothing on this Earth at all,

More constant, fair, and free,

Or timeless, mighty, resolute,

More beautiful than me.

This looks like something you would see in Montana.

[–]Sleuther 0 points1 point ago

Based on my reasoning for clicking this link I'm wondering if I spend too much time on /r/trees... Hmmm...
