Well.. on lighter colors they'd blend in. With the black border, it separates the white of the letters from any light-colored background.

That's the joy of swimming in Galveston Bay, in Texas. The water is so filthy that no one can see anything underneath the water.

I've been attacked by crabs and stung by jellyfish in Galveston because I couldn't see them a foot away from me. I've also noticed that if you dig a hole 1-2 ft deep, then you start getting into this black sand that smells like rotten eggs.

I'm from SoCal, I've visited beaches at Florida and they are clearer and cleaner than ours. So I guess it's anywhere other than Hawaii.
