Lol, i just meant in an "outside of class" situation. I understand how in a classroom setting it is seen as unpolite, but in a library? I think people should be able to learn in whichever language suits them.

I don't know. That sounds risky. People from different parts of the world have different perspectives and ideas. That's the last thing you want at a University!

Maybe I'm alone, but I was expecting college to be this diverse melting pot of open-minded individuals. Boy was I wrong. It seemed more like a viscous mass of people trying to get a necessary evil out of the way.

I love hearing a melting pot of languages. It's one of the reasons I love going on package holidays - because when you are in the hotel restaurant then you can hear so many different languages being spoken. I can sit for such a long time in silence just listening. It makes me happy.
