Battle #38 - Open for Voting! | New Rule, Oct 15

Battle 38

About Photoshop Battles

A subreddit for people to use photo manipulation software to create new images.

Official weekly battles are held where entries are removed for the first 24-hours to give an opportunity for more detailed submissions.

Battle winners pick the photo for the next battle (only upvotes are counted) and all entrants are given subreddit flair.

Rules for Submissions:

I. No Requests or Questions

  • Requests, such as "Please photoshop me or my friend", can be posted to /r/picrequests.

  • Questions, such as "Where else could he be?", or "What else could she be sticking in her mouth?" are not permitted.

II. Titles

  • Your title must be descriptive. Please accurately describe the subject of the photo.

  • No cliches such as "this has potential", "lets see what you guys can do", or "make this epic".

III. Image content

  • Images should be at least 500x500 pixels.
  • No technically low-quality images. Focus, framing, lighting, etc. are important.
  • No links to facebook.
  • NSFW tags must be used generously.
  • No albums or web pages, submissions must be a single image.

Submissions that do not follow the rules will be subject to removal by the moderators.

If you notice a submission that violates the rules, please report it to the mods, and send us a message letting us know why it was reported.

Commenting

Junk comments distract from this subreddit a lot more than in other subreddits that are not based on original content.

Comments that are cliché, text-only, not an original work, image macros, memes, reaction gifs, or off-topic are subject to removal by the moderators without notification.

Comments should be fully compliant with RFC 2119

Voting

  • Please vote based on quality of work. Lazy shops shouldn't win just because they made you laugh. You can still vote funny stuff (we can't control you) but keep in mind that people spend lots of time making some really good submissions and deserve as much recognition as the next guy.

  • Please do not downvote submissions because they do not have obvious potential. An image that does not have an easy punchline may be the most creatively inspiring to others.

Please report inappropriate content to the mods.

How did you do that with the box? Very impressive!

In GIMP, I loaded an image of a Pop Tarts box, and cut/pasted the image into a new layer. I rotated it 180 degrees, then used a perspective tool to move the corners of the image to the corners and edges of the box face. I created selections for the object and cutout that obscured the face, and applied a mask to the layer from the selection. Finally, I changed the layer mode to Grain merge, which retained the grain of the box surface.

Thanks for this info. I'm going to fool around with it and see what I can do myself.

That made it so very realistic. Good shop, champ!

This should be a tutorial in r/gimp. I didn't know you could do that in GIMP and always wondered how other people did this kind of thing. Awesome work.
