Zero frisson was had.

To each their own I suppose. But sometimes I do think we just upvote cool shit in here lately.

[–]KosherNazi 10 points11 points ago

Yet it has 135 upvotes.

If this sub doesn't start getting serious with the moderation, it's quickly going to become "cool pics".

Frisson?

[–]HorribleBastard -3 points-2 points ago

I don't know. I had it a bit. Something about it really made me feel a combination of whimsy, feel for adventure, and sadness that punched me straight in the dopamine.

Also frissonists, let's regulate content better with the upvote AND downvote button

[–]mnk 1 point2 points ago

I almost had a panic attack, but no frisson.

[–]shmi 3 points4 points ago

Escher would be proud.

[–]eovogt 1 point2 points ago

Ow my brain. Seriously cool though. Love pictures like this

[–]Sleisl 7 points8 points ago

And that was how I finally unsubscribed from this subreddit.

frisson = two things that aren't really related?

[–]Forgetheriver 2 points3 points ago

I feel like I'm looking at a weird spinoff of Animorphs.

[–]SovietRaptor 2 points3 points ago

This is on Frisson? How the fuck does an Escher cause frisson? People upvoting this probably don't realize it was on frisson.

[–]Influenzed 1 point2 points ago

This looks like Escher.

[–]kyzfrintin 1 point2 points ago

Not exactly frisson, but definitely cool.

Oh man, there's a whole collection of those by the same(I suppose) artist. It's really amazing stuff, maybe someone can link us.

You may be thinking of M.C. Escher, who has done many works of metamorphosis like this.

However, Escher mainly did lithographs IIRC, additionally the signature at the bottom right corner of this painting isn't Escher. Here's a link to Escher's work. Most of the metamorphosis stuff is post 1935, but I really am a fan of most of his artwork. Lots of great stuff.

Thanks for all the links! Yeah, it's not Escher, it's actually Rob Gonsalvez.

I found a couple links, the pictures are not very big but you can zoom in a bit to see better.

His site (smaller pics)

Other site, somewhat larger pics.

Oh thanks for the links yourself, those paintings are really really cool.
