Jersey Shore was canceled. Yes, but the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo abomination has taken its place and scored better ratings than Romney's speech at the GOP convention.

If there were a God it has a sick sense of humor.

Challenging the hivemind, but Honey Boo Boo wasn't all that bad entertainment wise. I only saw one episode, but it was not inanely retarded like Jersey Shore was.

Honey Boo Boo is great - it's like a live action version of the version of the Simpson's. The family is crude, crass and obnoxious (but funny!), but they genuinely care about each other and they have a pretty good outlook on life: they enjoy their life and don't give a shit what other people think.

Yes, I think toddler pageants are horrible, and I thought this show was going to be about evil "momager" type parents and show people trying to one up themselves when it comes to selfishness and bitchiness, but it's not like that at all. I think most of the people knocking Honey Boo Boo haven't actually seen an episode.

Yeah I thought I'd be sickened and wish social services upon them but they seem to have fun and seem pretty close. I actually wish I had as much fun as they seem to be having! Of course, their child-rearing methods leave much to be desired but nobody said it was supernanny!

That's the point. Which is the key factor to it's entertainment. Watching the upbrinings of kids who go into shows like Toddlers and Tiaras is much more interesting than a bunch of drunk party whores and meat heads.

To be fair, Romney's speech was not particularly intelligent. He spent most of the speech bashing Obama, rather than being insightful or praising his own platform.

I'm not going to invoke Godwin's law on this (you know who else revived their country's economy? HITLER!) but come on. How are you going to make that many jobs? Magic? Forcibly convert everyone to mormonism? Kill all the Chinese, claim it as American soil and send half the country to work the factories there?

exactly. every time he opens his mouth its just mud-slinging. all his supporters go on and on about how he will "fix" the country and how he "built" his success (rofl) but I've yet to hear an actual plan. why don't politicians say "here is my plan, I will do this and this and this to get this result" and then we vote on the plan we think will succeed.

I see what you mean, but not necessarily. I have friends of all beliefs, but their beliefs are just that, theirs. I liked this because it was just two friends, no religion doesn't need to affect their friendship. Played well by both.

that was a light-hearted, humorous exchange. really sweet to watch.

but in a way the theist is making fun of sacred things in his beliefs.

technically, he also mentioned god's name in vain, thus breaking a commandment (1st?).

i'm pretty sure a considerable number of christians will not like this and find it offensive.

you may argue that those people are "fundies", but i think they would simply be following the "rules" of their religion properly. they are the true believers. you cannot have a moderate amount of faith. you cannot be religious and secular at the same time. that's superficial belief. maybe i'm just being pedantic, but i see it as an inconsistency.

True atheism believes that people should help people because of the lack of GOD and we are our only hope. If you are going to believe something believe the whole thing, also if you know anything about christianity then you would know after Jesus died and rose the old testament is null and void as a contract and as an example to view all Christians whenever an atheist pulls some new testament scripture out to discuss and not yell BS then that is when you will find a non hypocritical christian who is on a high level of thinking and reasoning and with the ability to question things such as yourselves
