  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

For those of you who are interested: these aren't rain clouds like you would see in a temperate city in Europe or North America, it's a mix of dust in the air and condensation. It generally only rains in Dubai once a year. The 'clouds' are there every morning but have disappeared by about 10:00 AM as the sun dissipates them.

Incredible city, by the way. If I ever decide to live outside the US, I'm living in Dubai.

Hey I'm just going by news reports of people being imprisoned there, as well as first hand accounts, but it's nice that you think you know more than people that have been thrown in jail there and elsewhere in the middle east.

I wouldnt say your statement was wrong, but it is a bit exaggerated. You're judging a country based on the reports of people being imprisoned there. I think we can both agree your sources may be a bit biased. If I were to judge any country by the reports of the imprisoned, I'd end up with a very negative view of the world.

The police presence is a lot less strict than you'll imagine. I've actually found middle easterners to be very friendly people; police included. In my 5 years of underage smoking, drinking, kissing women and making jokes about Islam, I personally havnt had one bad encounter with the police and neither have any of my friends.

Dont get me wrong; the UAE is a muslim country with shariah law. That's an undeniable fact. But it isnt the terrible country you're imagining it to be.

I live in UAE and sure Middle Easterners are friendly etc. etc. But there is a LOT of racism here. And it's tax-free, sure, but they find other ways to get money from you by fining you left, right and center. I rather just be taxed. Would be cheaper.

There are plenty of countries with far more money than the UAE and ended up being shitholes. The UAE has modernized to an impressive level during a very short span of time. So it's not perfect. I, for one, am glad in the direction the UAE is heading. Also, about the poop trucks, remember, it's not stupid if it works.

It gets taken to sewage treatment plants. Most of it goes through the sewer system. For buildings that are not on the sewer system yet (either very new buildings or ones in remote areas), there are sewage tanks that are emptied by trucks to take it to the sewage treatment plants.

All of those buildings are connected to a sewer system. Some of the new developments use sewage tanks and trucks until the pipework is completed, as an interim measure. I am an engineer and I worked on several of the buildings in the picture.
