But pretty accurate.

[–]guntcher 5 points6 points ago

Really. Didn't think it was poor placement at all. It highlights their singular achievement in the last 10 years.

[–]an_angry 1 point2 points ago

OP said it was poor placement. I just said it was accurate.

[–]guntcher 1 point2 points ago

I was agreeing with you. Prob could have phrased it better.

[–]an_angry 1 point2 points ago

Ah I see how I read it with the wrong meaning. My bad.

To whom do we owe 59 cents?

[–]The_4th_Little_Pig 2 points3 points ago

Most likely the federal reserve, most of the debt is domestic.

[–]Noisebot 3 points4 points ago

Poor?

Seems accurate to me.

Mmm Obama has actually tallied up the debt more than all the other US presidents combined source

[–]yourhouseisonfire 3 points4 points ago

Happened during Obama's presidency != Obama did it.

[–]The_4th_Little_Pig -2 points-1 points ago

He makes and signs off on all the budgets that go through his office, he retains veto power so he can shoot down things that arent good for the nation. So yes Obama did do it, his signature is on all the tabs.

[–]yourhouseisonfire 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, 'cause he could just wave his magical democrat wand and end both wars and raise taxes on the ultra rich to kill the debt. I'm sure he'd find no opposition in congress, right?

[–]The_4th_Little_Pig -2 points-1 points ago

I'm not saying that at all, what I'm saying is that he endorsed all the budgets. He doesn't have to sign them, it was his choice to continue to spend more he could easily tell congress that the budget wasn't good enough and make them balance it. Clinton did it...

[–]yourhouseisonfire 0 points1 point ago

He can only send it back to congress for so long before the government shuts down. If the choice is between signing a flawed budget and letting the government shut down, the flawed budget wins.

Look man you're obviously a huge Obama fan and it's pointless to try and show you that you're democratically controlled senate and executive branches have more power over the budget than the republican controlled house and since Obama is president he is the leader of the Democratic party so he controls the votes of the senate.

[–]yourhouseisonfire 0 points1 point ago

They control the House. Both the House and the Senate have to approve a bill before it can go to the president. They have immense power, if you don't think so it's because you want to blame Obama for everything.

Obama is president he is the leader of the Democratic party so he controls the votes of the senate.

Oh, is that how that works? ಠ_ಠ

[–]The_4th_Little_Pig -2 points-1 points ago

He is the leader of the democratic party and the democratic members of the senate listen to the democratic whip who gets all his orders from the DNC, same with the republicans.

Whips are cat herders. No one controls anyone's vote but the voter themselves. This is why Olympia Snowe was able to vote for the Affordable Care Act.
