Sleds weigh about 300 lbs with passengers, there are at most 8 dogs on a team. 37.5lbs per dog, static weight. When the sled is moving, maybe about 3 lbs per dog. Thats like running with clothes on.

i did 1 dog races when i was a kid, looked something like this ofc thats not a marathon by dog standards 10 miles or so most the time but when you think about the iditarod your talking about over 1k miles ran over about 2 and a half weeks in some of the harshest conditions known to man. i only bring this up because i am an Alaskan and i hate to see people underestimate what those dogs are doing.

300 lbs with passengers? Maybe if you've got one kid as a passenger, or are counting the musher as a passenger too.

Also, the dogs do different amounts of work; the wheel dogs do most of the pulling.

Source: I've been a dog handler (and occasional musher) for 4 years.

Sled dogs weigh anywhere from 45-60lb when fully grown, 2.5 to 3 dogs = one human. Where do you get 2lbs on each of your limbs?

Because I have no discernable sense of humour … I too shall disagree with this talking dog.

Humans are one of the few animals that can outrun a wolf , we are actually one of the greatest endurance runners in the animal kingdom, and our upright posture and sweat glands means we can run even in a full hot sun … when most animals (including dogs) are resting.

(by “Humans” I do not refer to this human… but rather to one of my genetic ancestors who didn’t sit at a desk reading reddit and eating Oreos)

Exactly, in fact this is our oldest form of hunting. Just keep chasing the animal in the midday sun until it is too exhausted to move, and then kill it.

Of course, while the best human runners can easily run farther than a dog in hot weather, I think the huskies would win in the snow.

Yeah, I acknowledged that it looks like an advice animal. It isn't, though. It's just a random image with text captions. Advice animals have actual characters that are important to the joke, like Bad Luck Brian or Courage Wolf. This is just a sled dog. It's not a meme either, because a meme is (more or less) a trend or fad, which this is not.
