Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

actually Obama has accumulated the majority of our debt, but hey facts are useless to liberals who think with their heart and not their mind

[–]herps 0 points1 point ago

Actually the whole "facts are useless statement" applies to both extremes of the Liberal vs Conservative mentality. Obama didn't start the wars in Iraq or Afgahnistan (and when the Iraq war was first pitched I recall Conservatives saying that the war would pay for itself with all the sweet sweet oil we would find). Obama wasn't in office when Bush pased his deficit shattering tax cuts. Obama also wasn't responcible for the unfunded Medicare prescription plan that Bush pushed through with bipartisan support. All of those items add up and over the years and have balooned to the point we now find ourselves.

If Obama had taken office and on day one got to determine what he would fund and what the tax rate would be then your statement would be true. But in the adult world when you are elected president and take over a government you are saddled with the legacy costs and income levels from your predicessor.

Most of the spending levels for the budget in Obama's first year was a carry over from Bush's presidency. It was true for Bush when he took over from Clinton, and it will be true for whomever replaces Obama in 4 years.

Obama also had no controll over the state of the economy he inherited and as a result the lower tax receipts also played a major roll in the deficit we now face. I also do not think GW was solely responsible for the state of the economy when he left office, but his policys didn't help it either.

I tend to lean left of what is considered the center in my views but I'am at heart a independent. I don't think Obama has been agressive enough in rolling back many of the policys of GW. I also don't like many of his stances on civil liberties.

But when I hear idiots like yourself on either side of the spectrum spouting off misleading statements and professing a hatred or at the very least disdane for the people, ideas and policys of the other side it tends to turn me off and makes it hard to take you and your kind seriously.
