Just wait until they start cold calling people, then you can at the very least keep a mental list of the other people in your class you are smarter than :-D

You'll feel even worse after you graduate and can't get a job. :(

-7_legged_spider, J.D., M.B.A.

P.S. PROTIPS:

1) Learn how to bookbrief, and then only do it as necessary.

2) Read the black letter law found in most outlines (Emmanuel's, etc.).

3) For most classes, you can pretty much ignore the assigned cases; most classes follow a recognizable order so you can compute which case you need to read.

4) Drink heavily.

5) Important: Talk to upperclassmen to see which professors to AVOID. Regardless of what class is being offered, there are professors that you want to avoid at any cost.

6) The converse applies to finding out which professors you should take.

7) Legal employment is all about WHO you know, not really how good of an attorney you are. Get as many professional connections as you can.

8) Either clerk or study abroad your 1L-2L summer.

9) Clerk in your 2L-3L summer, even if it is volunteer work.

10) Save up $$$ for a bar review course. You'll need between ~$900 (Themis) to $3,000+ (BarBri), depending on which bar review course you take.

11) Do Kaplan PMBR for the multistate questions in addition to your regular bar review course.

Good luck.

I know that feel bro...Aceoftrades13 JD, MBA.

Where did you graduate from?

[–]7_legged_spider 0 points1 point ago

Well, I ended up attending Duquesne, (regional, Tier 4 school around Pittsburgh), because it was close to home, and it offered me the most money, (I financed my entire education, and didn't really have any money).

Some further relevant info on my background: I graduated magna cum laude with both a BS in Sports Medicine and an MBA with a concentration in MIS before applying to law school. I had a 163 LSAT score and left a moderately paying IT Project Manager job at a major international financial institution to go to law school.

I was also accepted to Pitt, Dickinson, Miami (FL), Widener (safety school), and was waitlisted at William & Mary. Rejected at Harvard and Notre Dame. I know that I could've used another few points on my LSAT, but I'm also a white, middle-class male, so I had the diversity demographics stacked against me, as well. (Not an excuse, but I do believe that is a significant factor).

How about you?

EDIT: I've always found it unwieldy to use our mutual rofessional suffixes. Etiquette dictates that Esq. is only to be used for those attorneys that have active bar licenses, butare not to be used with any other suffixes (ike MBA). JD is more general, can be paired up with other suffixes, but does not designate that one is in the actual practice of law--only that one completed law school. I usually use "JD, MBA" anyways, even though I'm a member of my state's bar, just so I can show that I have another advanced degree besides my law degree.

Your thoughts?

I'm currently finishing up a joint program at Seattle U. I'm externing in Alaska to finish up my law credits, and I have to go back to Seattle in the spring to finish my MBA. My BA was in philosophy.

As far as schools I've applied to, I can't honestly remember. I know I got rejected from Harvard, but I cant remember everyone else I applied to. Seattle definitely offered the most money, which is why I went there.

The JD/MBA suffix is annoying, especially since many people don't recognize the JD/MBA as being separated in colloquial speech. I got a wild hair and jumped on west-law the other day and tried to see if there was an ethic decision on it. In New York at least we just get to call ourselves Dr.

Are you working at the moment? Has the MBA helped?
