Your call has been dropped.

[–]Witkin 266 points267 points ago

Not like this... not like this...

[–]Sam_MF_Jackson 82 points83 points ago

You turned something funny, to something sad. Shame on you.

[–]kyleyankan 19 points20 points ago

Wait, I don't get it.

[–]elnrith 29 points30 points ago

._.

[–]rawdawgn 11 points12 points ago

I quote this all the time, with the accent and all, and nobody knows what I'm talking about :(

[–]sloshasaur 3 points4 points ago

I did the same for years before realizing I had actually forgotten what it was from. :/

[–]MIGHTYPOSEIDONSDICK 1 point2 points ago

:(

[–]PPCwarren 9 points10 points ago

By the way, if you have something terribly important to say to Switch, I’d suggest you say it now.

[–]AVVIT 138 points139 points ago

But the guy using a Video phone / cam is ok ?

[–]drunkcowofdeath 142 points143 points ago

I'd say he was either taping the lesson for notes which some teachers allow or this was staged and completely fake.

[–]hymenoxis 73 points74 points ago

When I first saw this on Failblog someone said it was from a Korean commercial.

[–]wellihavenoname 18 points19 points ago

It's not, it's definitely in a classroom in Thailand.

Source: I'm Thai.

[–]dawgiesman1 18 points19 points ago

So its a Thai commercial?

[–]wellihavenoname 2 points3 points ago

Not a Thai commercial. The way I heard, it's actual footage. The student recording were just recording the lesson and when it happened, he just edited up to the climax.

[–]EYES_WALL_OH 15 points16 points ago

He's not disrupting the class. Some teachers don't care if you fail as long as you don't interrupt the lesson.

[–]SirToffo 129 points130 points ago

Maaaan, not in my class. Then I threw it ON THE GROUND.

[–]lars_fillmore 85 points86 points ago

MY DAD'S NOT A PHONE

I wonder what she would have done if he would have immediately pulled out his backup cell phone and kept talking.

[–]I_Eat_Toothpaste 279 points280 points ago

Who the hell has a "backup cellphone"?

[–]CryoGuy 411 points412 points ago

Canada.

[–]Kenster180 6 points7 points ago

The Romney's.

[–]sbolt 1 point2 points ago

On their person? Not that many people I'd guess. At home? Well, I guess that depends on whether or not you tossed/recycled/sold your old phone if/when your phone company offered you an upgrade in exchange for a contract extension.

[–]StefanGod 2 points3 points ago

She would have roundhouse kicked him in the face!

[–]makubex 1206 points1207 points ago

If you have the audacity to talk on your phone, in the front row, while the teacher is talking, you absolutely deserve to have your phone broken.

At least leave the class and have the conversation in the hallway or something.

[–]chainer3000 339 points340 points ago

I had a teacher in college, one of the early 401 huge lecture psychology classes, that would stage this exact thing. He had some kid use a crappy flip-phone in the first class who would answer while he was going over the syllabus, then grab the phone from the student, and smash it across the whiteboard.

I found out because he did the same thing when I changed time slots and saw it done again with the same phone and inquired - he said it was more memorable then writing "do not talk on the phone in class" under his rules list.

[–]fourth_branch 88 points89 points ago

I had a prof like this as well! Except when he came into a class, a big bouncer looking dude followed him in and stood by the door. When the phone started ringing, the prof did a mafia style head nod towards the guy standing at the door who walked over to the student and held his hand out for the phone. He then crushed in under his boot and went back to his post by the front door. Prof never lost a beat, and kept talking about the syllabus the whole time. I found out later from a friend that this guy does this every first lecture for his giant 1st year classes.

[–]perverse_imp 4 points5 points ago

Smart professor is smart. Just think of all the bullshit he preemptively dealt with.

[–]erock0546 92 points93 points ago

Wow, that's actually really cool.

[–]NoahFect 9 points10 points ago

Yeah, that's an awesome way to demonstrate the practical applications of human psychology. Bonus points to students who realize that it's a setup.

[–]FledglingZombie 14 points15 points ago

I had one who'd do that but with a hammer. He'd ask students to bring in crappy old phones at the end of the year and then smash the shit out of them.

[–]jezusflowers 7 points8 points ago

My current Physics professor staged an incident where he took a student's laptop, dipped it into a vat of liquid nitrogen, then smashed it against the floor. He really doesn't like laptop in his class.

I think it's on youtube somewhere.

[–]AwesomeMcPants 13 points14 points ago

[–]robo23 8 points9 points ago

In my last semester, senior year of college I took an intro to psych class like that with a bunch of freshmen. The complete cluelessness and lack of respect I saw (that I overlooked when I was in their shoes) blew me away. Sure, I came to half of the classes blazed as shit, but at least I had enough respect to pay attention in class and not openly take phone calls like some of those kids did.

[–]FledglingZombie 77 points78 points ago

I got high before class all the time but I can't believe how disrespectful those other kids were

[–]putin_my_ass 54 points55 points ago

It's not disrespectful to get high before class, that's your own education down the drain (and your own money too).

It's disrespectful when you start disrupting the professor and other students, because now you're wasting their time and money not your own. That's a lack of respect, just being high doesn't show a lack of respect at all.

[–]robo23 5 points6 points ago

It was a fucking introductory class and I nearly finished with a 100 average. Please, explain how I threw my education away.

[–]AuraofMana 14 points15 points ago

To be fair having a high final grade doesn't necessarily mean you learned anything. Not saying the intro class was definitely useful (because many are not >_>) or this is indeed the case... just pointing that out there.

[–]robo23 4 points5 points ago

Exams are the main (and oftentimes only) benchmark that lecture-based education uses to access learning. Some of the most erudite members of society prove their competence through examination. It is a very useful tool. That said, the exams were incredibly easy, but I think correctly answering nearly every question asked throughout the year shows adequate acquisition and application of knowledge.

[–]keyboarduser 0 points1 point ago

ignore these lames, weed can have a different on everyone and a select few like you and I can actually succeed while stoned. I respect your use of marijuana for not just recreation but education as well

[–]Infin1ty 28 points29 points ago

I wouldn't consider getting high before class disrespectful. Some people, especially those with ADD, can pay attention much better in class if they are stoned.

[–]cuddles_the_destroye 29 points30 points ago

dude, what this guy is saying, it feels like i am Learning and stuff, man

[–]Kinch_ 19 points20 points ago

that's what the man wants you to think, bro. and that's the hardest lesson of all.

[–]StongaBologna -2 points-1 points ago

I shit you not, the ONLY time i would take notes was under the influence

[–]LexAurum 2 points3 points ago

I can confirm this. I get distracted so easily, just a little toke from a one hitter will help me focus a lot. It's better than taking adderal and other chemicals.

[–]BassheadPanda 6 points7 points ago

Your ignorance about marijuana is showing.

[–]sphinnxx 5 points6 points ago

yea i bet he's never done more than four marijuana's at once

[–]I_decide_up_or_down 728 points729 points ago

Hey at least somebody had their phone out to film it.

[–]fockyou 264 points265 points ago

Okay Daniel Tosh

[–]I_decide_up_or_down 333 points334 points ago

"And for that we thank you."

[–]nebos11 89 points90 points ago

Wow. I actually envisioned that entire scenario playing out on TV... spot on, gentlemen.

[–]yorrick21 25 points26 points ago

Now... if only high school teachers in the US could get away with this.

Unfortunately any teacher who tried, would get reprimanded at the minimum after administration tried to negotiate with lawsuit-happy parents.

[–]gammarayzzz 48 points49 points ago

Funny you should say that. I had a shop teacher in my freshman year that called a parent from the kids' phone, explained the situation (he was talking on the phone in the back during an important lecture that detailed instructions on our next project), and asked for permission to drill holes in the phone. The parent gave him permission and he proceeded to do so in front of the entire class, then he nailed it to the wall. I swear to god, this happened. Call bullshit all you want, but it happened.

[–]guttersniped 8 points9 points ago

Yeah, well my friend cut off his finger in shop.

My school does't have a shop class now.

[–]Kinbensha 5 points6 points ago

Teacher in Korea here. We can do anything, as long as we have a good reason. I was going to get in trouble for sucker punching a student once, but it was to stop him from bullying another student. When the school got the whole story, his home room teacher beat the shit out of him with a stick.

He said he preferred the sucker punch. We get along great now, and he hasn't bullied anyone since.

[–]hett 1 point2 points ago

Phones are expensive. Even if a kid was a little shit and was talking on his phone in class, chances are his parents spent $200 on that fancy smartphone.

[–]elephantx 15 points16 points ago

I read that in his voice and it immediately pissed me off.

[–]SellinThings 37 points38 points ago

Oh we're supposed to hate Tosh now? Fuck you reddit.

[–]cyberslick188 20 points21 points ago

So brave.

[–]TheFourthTriad 36 points37 points ago

If you have the audacity to talk on your phone, in the front row, while the teacher is talking... your'e probably in a staged video.

[–]Falconhaxx 23 points24 points ago

Yeah, I wonder why that's not more common.

If it's something urgent, just leave and explain later.

[–]opie2 85 points86 points ago

For years, nay, decades, high schoolers got along just fine without cell phones, even in the dire circumstance where their best friend, parent, uncle, cousin, or their cat died from the plague and it was vitally important to let them know immediately. If it was THAT urgent, someone could and would just come to the classroom and quietly pull them out, (presumably to leave them sobbing in the hallway.) The presence of the cell phone and the absolute insistence that, as a student, you have a right to disrupt the classroom environment just because you are you and you are special, does nothing but degrade the educational environment and contribute to disrespect for the process and for the teachers who DO work hard to make the class experience a valid and valuable one for ALL students.

[–]danpascooch 26 points27 points ago

People functioned for decades without indoor plumbing too, that doesn't mean the ability to go to the bathroom without shitting in a chamberpot and throwing it out the window isn't important.

I understand your point, but if I get called 4 times in a row (phone on vibrate) in the middle of a class, there is nothing wrong with excusing yourself from the room, and then discreetly making sure you didn't just get a text reading "Grandma's dead" or something like that.

This assumes you have friends who aren't shitty enough to call you 5 times during class, if you do, you have no right to excuse yourself.

[–]Internetallstar 18 points19 points ago

The scenario you describe is probably not the norm though. I applaud you for being considerate but how many truly urgent phone calls do you get in the course of a year?

Also, for balance I work in a corporate environment and if you want to look like a complete ass take a call during a meeting with out excusing yourself first. It is extremely inconsiderate to interrupt a group for a non emergency call that can wait.

[–]rusemean 17 points18 points ago

Even if your grandma is dead, you can wait the one hour MAX it will be to find out. She's not going anywhere.

[–]unitarder 5 points6 points ago

That makes zero sense. She'll be cold in an hour! What then?

I mean, do you even have a grandma?

[–]CervantesX 4 points5 points ago

Dude, come on, don't be a dick, this guys grandma just died FFS!

[–]danpascooch 1 point2 points ago

I'm not sure if you're kidding or not, but in that scenario it wouldn't be for my benefit to know, it would be for the benefit of the mother/father I would leave class to go console. And they would probably be happier if it didn't take an extra hour.

[–]LaMaitresse 13 points14 points ago

Because most teachers would have their asses fired if they tried that. Teachers unions aren't as all-powerful as some redditors seem to think they are.

[–]TalkingBackAgain 12 points13 points ago

How about I stop talking every time a precious snowflake needs to make a phone call in the middle of class, and wait for them to finish? I would not want to interrupt them

The fact that the rest of the class doesn't get taught, even though they're going to be paying off their student loans for decades to come, is just a sad, but necessary, side effect of your fellow student's right to make a vital phonecall to learn who was blowing Steve behind the dishwasher at Cindy's kegger last night.

[–]PhantomSwagger 5 points6 points ago

And now class, because of Greg's phone call that apparently couldn't wait, you have all now been assigned a six page essay on classroom etiquette due on Monday. You may thank Greg after I leave.

[–]zipzap21 3 points4 points ago

You had me at precious snowflake.

[–]GigaReed 8 points9 points ago

If something is urgent enough it can be routed through the office. There is no reason a kid has for needing a phone on during class.

[–]BsFan 10 points11 points ago

I don't understand the downvotes... I didn't have a cellphone until my senior year in high school, now I hear of middle school kids with smartphones. I was distracted enough when I was younger...

[–]Falconhaxx 12 points13 points ago

You have a point.

However, if you're expecting an important call, why route it through someone who might screw up? I used to just tell my teacher that I might have to take a call and that I would just leave if and when I got it.

[–]GigaReed 6 points7 points ago

That seems reasonable, but barring family emergencies I don't see any reason important enough to disrupt class for a phone call.

[–]religion_is_wat 14 points15 points ago

I've never understood how one person quietly getting up and leaving the room is suddenly a disruption of class.

[–]Little_Noodles 4 points5 points ago

One person doing that one time per class isn't that big of a disruption. But if even ten percent of the students in a class spend the entire lecture wandering in and out of the room to do whatever, that gets really distracting really fast.

[–]TheLogicalErudite 9 points10 points ago

The only time I will leave the classroom to answer my phone is if my parents call me during class. They have copies of my schedule, and know when to and when not to call. If they're calling during my class, something is VERY wrong. Short of a job calling me back, that's the only reason to "disrupt" class with a phone call. Mind you I will LEAVE the classroom as quietly as I can to do this.

[–]opie2 57 points58 points ago

Teacher here:

deserve to have your phone broken

Broken, crushed, stomped into a million pieces, set on fire, and thrown into the ocean.

FTFY

[–]Hans_Sanitizer 29 points30 points ago

Yeah, No.

You should carefully recycle your phones, and not throw them in the ocean.

The Power... Is Yours

[–]ZippityDooDoo 7 points8 points ago

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes.

[–]CDBSB 9 points10 points ago

I endorse this.

Classes aren't cheap and I'm actually paying attention. Go the fuck outside.

[–]ambientmf -1 points0 points ago

Devil's advocate here; cell phones aren't cheap either.

Damaging someone's property because they violate a school's policy is a bit over the line IMO. Why not do what most high school teachers do and lock the phones away during the lesson? Or in the case of college/university, just kick the student out of the lecture hall? No need acting like a psychopath and breaking people's things.

[–]Kinbensha 3 points4 points ago

Teacher in Korea here. You have a very Western perspective on this. The kid deserves the broken phone not because he's interrupting class. He's disrespecting a teacher. At my school, that will get your back hit with a stick 6-10 times. I've never seen a teacher break a phone, but my students say a teacher at my school has done it before.

You respect teachers in Asia. That's some cultural perspective there for you.

As a side note, beating students is illegal in Korea now, but many schools still do it will full knowledge and consent from parents.

[–]mynameismufasa 2 points3 points ago

My thoughts exactly. How do people think they can get away with that?

[–]fragglestickcar 3 points4 points ago

I love how Reddit supports such unnecessary extremes when they happen to someone else.

[–]opiate46 35 points36 points ago

If you have the audacity to talk on your phone, in the front row, while the teacher is talking, you absolutely deserve to have your phone broken.

If you have the audacity to talk on your phone in class, you absolutely deserve to have your phone broken.

FTFY

[–]quinnsical 13 points14 points ago

100% agree. I'm in high school and a kid started talking on their phone and the chemistry teacher confiscated it and took it apart. The only way the kid was allowed to get it back was if he put it back together... Needless to say that's my favorite teacher.

[–]faggatron 20 points21 points ago

If park in two spots do I deserve to have my car windows broken?

I'm just trying to figure out where the line is regarding acceptable destruction of property.

[–]YourmomandI 21 points22 points ago

I had a friend get his car towed, his e brake was on, wore out his breaks and they broke his axel and ripped his rear bumper off. The towing company was NOT responsible for any of the damages.

[–]FinalFate 18 points19 points ago

How does that make sense?

[–]YourmomandI 7 points8 points ago

Was downtown Baltimore. MD is a F'ed up state.

[–]Nyeep 0 points1 point ago

Well legally a parked car must have the hand brake enabled while parked. Towing companies tow cars assuming they have the hand brake on. If he didn't have the hand brake on, and parked in an area where his car would get towed, it was his fault.

[–]MantheDam 7 points8 points ago

Hand brake = E brake as far as I know. If the towing company didn't account for the brake being on, then any damage is their liability. Or should be, anyway.

[–]lavacat 2 points3 points ago

Seriously. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

[–]Arraffe 6 points7 points ago

Yes... yes you do, but i'm not gonna do it. I don't want to get caught

[–]InterstellarPancake 0 points1 point ago

It's okay, his father is a telecommunication giant and has access to an insurmountable amount of cell phones.

At least, that's what I've learned about asian culture from anime.

[–]phillyharper 0 points1 point ago

Yeah the least you can do is try to realise the gif is fake.

[–]sufrt 1 point2 points ago

how do you guys manage to turn some stupid fucking picture into self-righteous moral outrage over petty bullshit every single time

[–]Stratocaster89 81 points82 points ago

Stagey stage staged.

[–]mafafu 10 points11 points ago

When I was in grad school a professor who oversaw all the sections of the freshman computer class taught by grad students taught a few himself. He wanted one of us to come into one of his sections with an old cell and pretend to get a call so he could fling the cell against the wall and shatter it for dramatic effect. I don't he ever went through with it though. And also he wasn't an Asian women, so probably not the same teacher.

[–]stuffmeister217 19 points20 points ago

I had teachers, in high school, who would give a student an old phone to pretend to use in class, after a little time passed the teacher would grab the phone and slam it on the ground then continue teaching.

[–]Nebride 12 points13 points ago

Wouldn't that student just tell his/her friends later on that it was fake, though?

[–]stuffmeister217 13 points14 points ago

Yeah they usually did. It was kind of a pointless demonstration, but it made for an interesting class.

[–]thecwest 124 points125 points ago

Not cool, now he has to go to Foxcom and make himself another.

[–]Zallomallo 40 points41 points ago

Foxconn*

[–]ShlawsonSays 36 points37 points ago

That's what he said, it's just bad kerning

[–]adremeaux 17 points18 points ago

Foxcorn

[–]ZeroGSpaceCow 6 points7 points ago

I think this is the first time I've ever seen kerning referenced in a conversation.

[–]ta38293 14 points15 points ago

What's keming?

[–]stereopump 4 points5 points ago

[–]lyyphe23 2 points3 points ago

Finalllllls club.

[–]IGetThis 7 points8 points ago

I laughed, but I felt bad for it at the same time.

[–]Markymark36 14 points15 points ago

And he never got to tell his dying mother who was just in an accident, "I love you"

[–]socalnonsage 5 points6 points ago

Funny (long) Story, even though no-one is going to read this far down... TL:DR at the bottom.

My brother is a grade school teacher (K-6) and kids in his class routinely text right in front of him, even though the school's policy does not allow texting or calls in class or during class time.

One day, one of his problem students' phone started ringing during class. The student pulled the phone out of the bag, answered, said "hold on" to the caller and then told my brother she had to use the restroom. School policy dictates that teachers are not allowed to stop kids from leaving the classroom to use the restroom so he let her go.

15 minutes pass, and she comes back into the room with cellphone in hand. He asks her to hand over the phone and she'll get it back at the end of the day. She complies.

Flash forward to 2 days later.

My brother is called into the principal's office to talk about "the phone incident" because the asshat mother of the child straight-up ripped the principal a new one inciting "emergency phone" and "I need to be able to call my daughter at any time" and lastly "you may be hearing from my lawyer and your superintendent"

After my brother explained his side of the story to his principal, here's what the principal said:

"socalnonsage's brother, I know that we have a policy stating that no calls or texting is allowed during instruction and I'm not saying that you did anything wrong but we need to be careful how we handle these situations. Please call the student's mother and apologize for taking her phone away from her and in the future, please do not take student's phones away from them. "

And this folks, is why my brother is going back to school to become a real estate broker...

TL;DR: School faculty and administrators in the US are powerless to the whims and rants of students/parents...

[–]wiegleyj 22 points23 points ago

My rule in class is simple: All ringing cell phones MUST be answered. However, not by the owner. Student's phones are answered by myself. If my phone rings then a student gets to answer it. I believe the respect should be mutual.

[–]up-quark 308 points309 points ago

Luckily it wasn't a nokia and the building remained intact.

[–]BendTime 219 points220 points ago

these jokes have seriously run their course...

[–]AnxAlbumxCover 219 points220 points ago

But not Nokia phones. They'll be around for awhile.

[–]danpascooch 10 points11 points ago

I've been hearing these Nokia jokes for months now, and I find them entertaining, but I just realized I have no idea as to the origin of them.

Is it simply because they are generally reliable? Or are people referencing a specific post?

[–]preske 18 points19 points ago

Not the new ones, but the older ones are known to be reliable as fuck and very sturdy. My uncle still has his old 3310. it's 12 years old.

If only I could find a current gen replacement for the battery. I miss my old 3310.

[–]AnxAlbumxCover 28 points29 points ago

Snake was the shit too.

[–]scottg96 61 points62 points ago

No, they're just literally fucking indestructible.

I dare you to try to break one. Disclaimer: don't try too hard, otherwise you'll break the Earth.

[–]daielquon 6 points7 points ago

My Nokia 1661 is working perfectly after all these years. My iPhone? Died years ago. I use it as a bookweight now.

[–]92camaro 26 points27 points ago

You have problems with books flying away in the wind?

[–]yashar1 11 points12 points ago

I guess you can say he's a light reader.

[–]unhingedninja 4 points5 points ago

YYYEAAAAHHHH

[–]pburn883 5 points6 points ago

the original nokias were known for taking bullets, surviving fires, being ran over by cars and still working. They seriously would not break.

[–]bfogarty27 4 points5 points ago

wait for the gif that illustrates his comment. frontpage tomorrow

[–]studiosupport 8 points9 points ago

The problem is, a dead horse will eventually return to the earth, but beating a dead nokia results in broken body parts.

[–]hipstorian 11 points12 points ago

Haha nokias don't break.

[–]slottmachine 22 points23 points ago

Something I just realized: This was probably filmed on a phone. Imagine the fear that the cameraman must have felt.

[–]jsellout 56 points57 points ago

About as much fear as a cameraman has on the set of a scripted show.

[–]Karrl1z4j2 3 points4 points ago

He is a douche,

But she is insane.

[–]KrimsonTide 7 points8 points ago

How stupid do you have to be to talk on your cellphone four feet in front of your teacher. That's facing you.

[–]jbredditor 9 points10 points ago

I'm 86% sure this is the beginning of a bad porno.

[–]zipzap21 1 point2 points ago

She looks like she wants to throw down. And I don't mean the phone.

[–]MonkeysWearingShoes 3 points4 points ago

Staging viral videos during class, as it's also known.

[–]dtrappp 3 points4 points ago

But videotaping in class is okay...

[–]Thepeoplesman 2 points3 points ago

I would hurt people for less then this

[–]mrchicano209 3 points4 points ago

Lol my English teacher did this once. He gave a student a fake iphone and he pretended he was texting when the teacher is talking and then the teacher got the fake phone, through it on the ground and stomped on it. Everyone freaked out.

[–]kortheuerm 4 points5 points ago

Teachers need to do stuff like this more often to kids who are douche bags.

[–]WazaWazaWaza 2 points3 points ago

This ain't my dad, this is a cell phone! I THREW IT ON THE GROUND!

[–]eRodriguez 6 points7 points ago

Am I the only one who thinks the teacher is kinda sexy?

[–]jdsizzle1 18 points19 points ago

yes, sorry

[–]dcoidua 0 points1 point ago

It's weird that this video comes up, it was part of the presentation my professor gave us at Middle Tennessee State University during a UNIV 1010 class. Wonder if hes a redditer?

[–]br00tman 2 points3 points ago

I love that "SAY SOMETHING MOTHER FUCKER" look right after she smashes it. I'd buy her flowers.

[–]keloidprocess 2 points3 points ago

This video would have been even better if you saw the teacher walking towards the camera, the student trying to hide it, the a hand closing over the camera and then static.

[–]clusterfuck7 2 points3 points ago

comment score below threshold (16 children)

Can anyone tell me what this means?

[–]chstead 2 points3 points ago

College teacher here, and something like this happened to me. Student answered phone during a discussion, yelled at her mom for calling her during class (MOM! I'M IN CLASS!), then hung up. Honestly, it was so unexpected and shocking (20-person class, all with their mouths open) that I just died laughing.

[–]SickZX6R 0 points1 point ago

I had a professor in college that was a bit out there, and was pretty rude to his students, but he was also really funny. One time one of the guys in my class forgot to turn his ringer off and his phone began ringing loudly. The professor walked up to the student, demanded the phone, and then answered it in front of the whole class. The conversation went something along the lines of, "This is ____'s phone. He's in class right now, this is the professor. He should have turned his ringer off. Goodbye!"

It was pretty bad ass.

[–]derfff 2 points3 points ago

I want to do this to people at my work all the time. They talk on the phone while ordering their food, and it's pretty annoying. If you're not ready to order, step aside and let me help customers who aren't being obnoxious. Take your phone calls outside people.

[–]webren 2 points3 points ago

I love how she stares him down after throwing the phone as if she's thinking, "What, bitch!?"

[–]SveNss0N 2 points3 points ago

A Nokia would have survived the impact

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 2 points3 points ago

My assumption is that this was recorded because somebody recording the class to take better notes with... a lot of people use Audio Recorders duing class, but this could be something like Art History or something where there is a lot of visuals that need to be captured.

Also... I believe that student should be failed for the entire semester, permanently kicked out the class, and/or made to wear the Cone of Wait What... but I don't think a teacher should be able to smash what is potentially a $600 phone, of what's probably that kids parents money. Idk.

[–]GigaReed 6 points7 points ago

This should be the norm.

[–]imnotcam 3 points4 points ago

I had a calculus professor that told a kid to stop texting on his phone, then a few minutes later he was on it again. The professor stopped his lesson walked to the kid and told him to hand it over. The kid complied after a little hesitation. The professor went back to the front of the room, said something about having your phone in class, spiked the phone on the ground, then took a hammer out of his bag and smashed it. It may have been one of the scariest, most awkward moments ever.

[–]allodude 6 points7 points ago

Sounds arranged.

[–]imnotcam 3 points4 points ago

The whole story is that he had planned it with the kid before class, and the phone he smashed was his own old one that was worthless. Still, the entire class was in utter shock the whole time.

[–]latinagringa2121 2 points3 points ago

As a teacher, I request permission to do this

[–]blackjackjester 3 points4 points ago

If in America, you would probably first get sued by the family for assault on a minor, followed up by destruction of property, as well as hurting their feelings. You'd then get fired by the school district and have your teaching license revoked, and probably added to the sex offenders and no-fly list just for fun.

[–]Evil_AppleJuice 0 points1 point ago

Even as a student, talking on the phone in class is pretty fuckin rude.

[–]diggernaught -1 points0 points ago

irony - recorded with a phone cam

[–]mistaknowitall -1 points0 points ago

the real hero was the guy who was filming this... presumably with his phone.

[–]Terance99 0 points1 point ago

Talking about reposting during class Someone should do this to you

[–]TheMrPatches -1 points0 points ago

He should have told on her!

[–]SNRV2013 0 points1 point ago

To record this is even better!

[–]jag149 -1 points0 points ago

I hope she doesn't see the guy who's recording this with his cellphone.

[–]sgrodgers10 0 points1 point ago

[–]Notloc24 0 points1 point ago

[–]Speark 1 point2 points ago
