Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

I lost my Siberian Husky to a stroke about a week and a half ago. I can definitely feel your pain. The good news is she killed the annoying opossum under our deck that morning.

My mom's pit is 14, he has had a great happy, loved life. He will go soon, it makes me so sad for both of them. He just wants to live forever and be with her, but he can't.

awww.... I had two dachshunds (Rebecca and Cassandra). Lost Rebecca to cancer and the Cassandra to a bear attack about 10 years ago, but I still tear up everytime I say their names.... :'( Stay strong OP!

I am sorry. It hurts crazy bad to lose a pet. My cat of 14 years was put down on Tuesday and it broke my heart. :( Just know that you gave him a great life and host a lost pet drinky part where all your friends come together, tell stories about lost pets, and toast to them.

I lost my black lab to a stroke a long time ago. I was really young and don't remember much from then cause I was only 8. But that day is still so fresh in my mind it feels like yesterday

I love my dog, he's about ten now or so.. They told me he was 4 when I got him back in 06... I think about this all the time, it's really just a horrible thing to feel... I wish you the best during such a tough time

We lost our dear 10 year old pit on Sunday to a stroke - I am right there with you. My heart is broken. I hope they've found each other at the rainbow bridge and are raising all kinds of hell together.

I have a friend with a pitt who showed signs of a stroke and being paralyzed on one side. It scared all of us, as that dog is just an amazing creature that worms right into your heart. Really is the best dog ever. After a day, he was considering putting him down because he still seemed to just as bad. He lost control of his bowels, couldn't feel one side, and was out of it. Then the vet discovered he had an inner ear problem that must have either come on very suddenly or been there but not bad enough to cause symptoms until the day he collapsed onto the floor. Some steroids and time, the dog is better each day. He is walking around, though his head is a bit tilted much of the time. I was so glad it was something that could be fixed. But for a couple days, we all thought it wasn't, so my heart really goes out to you. He wasn't even my dog and I was freaking out and soooo sad, so I am sure this is exponentially harder for you.

I hope you had lots of time with him and remember all the good times. And when you are ready, adopt a new friend. There are tons of pitts in shelters that are amazing dogs. It's where my friend got his. it doesn't make the hurt go away, but it can help so much to refocus on the good. Big hugs from a dog owner and internet friend.

In doggy heaven my ralf is biting all the bad people consequence-free and with a few 'good boy!' thrown in. He's also eating everything and never getting fat. And snoozing whenever he is tired with someone to cuddle him.
