I swear that's a Walking Dead quote....

[–]syvil 126 points127 points ago

[–]MattBD 17 points18 points ago

I was kind of hoping Samuel L Jackson had said it. Oh well...

[–]life-form_42 5 points6 points ago

Immediately the tone I read it in. Now try Morgan Freeman.

[–]Jacosion 9 points10 points ago

Read it in the professer's voice from futurama.

[–]eidolons 5 points6 points ago

Exactly: Do one after the other for maximum effect.

[–]silent_mind 3 points4 points ago

I read it as 10 guy

[–]LittlePinger 3 points4 points ago

I don't remember that scene from batman.

[–]spankymuffin 14 points15 points ago

It's Bateman, not Batman.

[–]dassadec 19 points20 points ago

Yep, Abraham commenting on Eugene's intelligence when they meet Ricks group

[–]roboroller 1 point2 points ago

Okay, I thought it was Abraham but I wasn't sure.

[–]JookJook 3 points4 points ago

I understood this reference. I like Abraham.

[–]TheVioletCrime 249 points250 points ago

Unfortunately, creationists would simply look at that image and use it for their own purposes. Suddenly scientifically minded people calling them crazy becomes their "proof" that they are the smart ones.

[–]Scourge108[S] 136 points137 points ago

That is a good point. I still scratch my head about Ray Comfort's book "You Can Lead an Atheist to Evidence but You Can't Make Them Think." Lolwut?

[–]bellabob 107 points108 points ago

Ray Comfort is so amazingly stupid that it makes me think that no one can be that stupid so it leads me to think that he has to be faking it.

[–]Amunium 38 points39 points ago

Ray Comfort is a liar, though. I used to read his blog, and he would continue to repeat misconceptions no matter how many times people explained to him that he was wrong - and I'm not talking about things where he could just claim that anyone contradicting him was wrong and he was right, but things like "Richard Dawkins believes x" or "all scientists believe x", which was indisputably shown to be wrong.

While I have no doubt he really is stupid, at least some of it is doing his too well paid job of misleading the gullible.

[–]darkandbrooding 20 points21 points ago

There is a type of person who believes that the end justifies the means. These people are to be avoided if at all possible. You cannot trust what they say, they do not have your best interests in mind, and if their actions benefit you it is only by accident.

[–]cyanydeez 5 points6 points ago

These people are not to be trifled with, nor are they to be called dumb. Never misunderestimate your nemesis.

[–]412420 3 points4 points ago

Sounds like classic Dubya.

[–]cyanydeez 3 points4 points ago

Even an idiot can choose a ruthless and powerful ally.

[–]412420 4 points5 points ago

Dick Cheney? BOOM 2/2.

[–]Mirior 1 point2 points ago

That depends on what their end is.

If the truth being known by all is the end, you can trust them to spread truth.

If your interests being fulfilled is the end, they will have your best interests in mind, and their actions will intentionally benefit you.

[–]bzobes87 24 points25 points ago

“Atheists don’t hate fairies, leprechauns, or unicorns because they don’t exist. It is impossible to hate something that doesn't exist. Atheists — like the painting experts hated the painter — hate God because He does exist.”

He never asked how I felt about Unicorns, or thieving leprechauns for that matter.

[–]geaw 26 points27 points ago

Nobody uses unicorns as an excuse to take away my rights...

[–]malevolentduality 17 points18 points ago

Unicorns exist.

Psalm 22:21 KJV

[–]Bakoro 13 points14 points ago

Lucky.

[–]Tannz0rz 13 points14 points ago

Atheists — like the painting experts hated the painter — hate God because He does exist.

I don't think that he knows the definition of "atheism".

[–]MF_Kitten 3 points4 points ago

I'm wondering if maybe he's trying to tie the Atheist "hate" of god up as proof of god's existence, since god would have to exist in order for him to be hated.

But as you point out, Atheists simply do not hate god, precisely for the reason he says doesn't exist. One cannot hate what does not exist. There is nothing to hate.

[–]Onslaught147 2 points3 points ago

I hate the kid king in Game of Thrones (forgot his name). I know it's just a fictional character and what not, but oh how I fantasize about torturing that little brat.

I just watch this gif over and over.

[–]linspatz 3 points4 points ago

That's just silly. Atheists don't hate god, they hate religion. Though hate is maybe a strong word for it, dislike seems better. Or maybe even just hate certain religious beliefs. Anyways silly statement.

[–]Ogosh 58 points59 points ago

[–]bo87 43 points44 points ago

Ah, the Dunning-Kruger effect.

One of my most favorite behaviors in humans. Basicly the smart people think they suck at everything, while the dumb... well you figure.

[–]GeneraLeeStoned 6 points7 points ago

damn, thank you for this.

[–]cC2Panda 3 points4 points ago

I understand Dunning-Kruger a bit, but I don't think that it really applies to people with certain personality types. I for one, am a jack-of-all-trades, but when I know very little about something I tend to think that I'm terrible, where as when I have experience with something I often bite off more then I can chew and force myself into sink or swim situations.

[–]Seiroku 3 points4 points ago

dat feel. If I'm understanding you correctly, that is. My understanding of the first part of what you just said is "I'm okay at everything I try, but I'm not great at anything I do."

because that's how I feel all the time.

[–]Carbon_Dirt 2 points3 points ago

Well I'm assuming a couple things here.

A, I assume that you calling yourself a "jack-of-all-trades" means that you are quick to pick up on new talents (with, perhaps, a small bit of instruction); cooking, electronics, strategy or logic puzzles, instruments, video games, crafts/skills, whatever. I'm basically the same way; I pick up on things quick once I decide I want to learn about them. But this in itself indicates a decent level of intelligence/aptitude and a willingness to try new things, so I would be willing to call you intelligent if you are a jack-of-all-trades as you describe. So you are probably at least smart enough to know that, without first gaining some expertise, you're probably not the best person to ask about complex subjects. That's one of the big parts of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

B, I think a big problem with fundies is that the bigger names out there are educated in unrelated areas, and think that their education means that they're qualified to speak in other fields where they've had no education. Fred Phelps comes to mind- he's a (former) lawyer and has written a few books, and so people cite him as an educated person, which I would somewhat agree with. But that doesn't make him qualified to speak in economics, sociology, civil rights, politics, or whatever other fields he decides he wants to jump into. But he decides that since he's got a little bit of education in some area, he's just as smart as the rest of them and knows exactly what he's talking about. This false sense of confidence is only made worse by the idea in his head that he's doing God's work, but that's not necessarily the only source of his confidence. But basically, if he were truly smart, he'd realize that he didn't know enough to make some of the claims that he does. (Another problem is when fundies get all their "education" from unreputable sources, like Christian Science academies, but that's another issue).

I know this sounds like a weird justification of the "We're smarter than them", so call this a personal opinion if you'd like, but this is how I see the situation with most "educated" fundies.

[–]ThisIsWhatICameFor 2 points3 points ago

Came here to post this. Thoroughly irritated you got to it first.

Cheers though!

[–]cyanydeez 1 point2 points ago

Also, smart people arn't allowed to think they're smart. Theres some kind of law against thinking and talking smart.

[–]smokeinhiseyes 23 points24 points ago

Some people are so fantastically under-educated that they lack even the most basic ability to examine themselves or their belief systems objectively. Without even the simplest understanding of science, logic, mathematics, or reason, the indoctrination of a particular individual is an impregnable fortress against any information that contradicts their world view.

In a world where unverifiable myth is given equal ground to observable phenomena, there's not even a starting point for having productive conversations.

[–]MikeTheInfidel 18 points19 points ago

In a world where unverifiable myth is given equal ground to observable phenomena, there's not even a starting point for having productive conversations.

I read this in the "action movie preview guy" voice.

[–]Bakoro 3 points4 points ago

Agree with people, sell them books about how smart they are.

[–]iamthemindfreak 2 points3 points ago

Reminds me of that one guy that said he could cure people by kicking the shit out of them

[–]Bakoro 5 points6 points ago

Obviously not, because you don't have God on your side. Touche, I believe this makes Uno.

[–]xDangermouse 1 point2 points ago

As opposed to aethist's using that image for their own purposes?

Einstein said, "In view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognize, there are yet people who say there is no God. But what really makes me angry is that they quote me for the support of such views."

Einstein was an agnostic FYI.

[–]MyriPlanet 3 points4 points ago

Yes, he was, but he explicitly called religion childish and simplistic. Those were his words, not mine.

Agnosticism is not an 'in between' of Christianity and atheism, it just means you do not think proof of God's existence/nonexistence exists.

[–]shai251 2 points3 points ago

Not agnostic, he was Pantheist. Still not Atheist, but its much closer to Atheism.

[–]Danzaemon 28 points29 points ago

I have some sympathy for the stupid. I am, after all, very stupid by the personal definitions of many people I respect highly. (For example, had I been born early enough to meet Dr. Einstein, I doubt if he would've found me overly bright.)

Confirming higher intelligence can be extremely confusing. A person of higher intelligence seems to see, understand, and say things that can make little or no sense to a person of lesser intelligence. It can be like they pulled information out of thin air.

This situation might be roughly analogous to one where a kid who learned arithmetic with calculators is totaling up a bill with an older person who learned arithmetic the old-fashioned way, with paper, pencil, multiplication tables, and so on. The old guy looks at the numbers, does the arithmetic in his head, and spits out the right answer. The kid has never seen anyone do this kind of thing without an electronic device, so at best he won't trust the answer, and at worst may believe the old man just said the first number that came into his head.

The problem in this analogy is that there are old people who can't do arithmetic in their heads, and who might just make up shit. The kid doesn't have any way of knowing, short of checking with his calculator.

Unfortunately, in real questions of higher intelligence, stupid people may have no easy way of checking whether mysterious pronouncements are useful deductions or just insane babble. In extreme cases, stupid people may simply lack the faculties ever to understand what a person of higher intelligence said.

[–]ITSTHEKINGBRO 18 points19 points ago

tldr; stupid ppl cant fact check higher intelligence. sans metaphoric calculator.

[–]tastycat 7 points8 points ago

This appears to explain religion and politics.

Now, how do we make people more intelligent?

[–]qdp119 2 points3 points ago

None of that particularly enters into this, though. Where people don't have the time, ability, or interest to verify the truth of something objectively, they judge the intelligence of the sentiment along purely ideological lines. That's why trying to discuss something inherently subjective like philosophy with committed theists and committed atheists is, frankly, one of the most excruciating and pointless things you can ever hope to avoid. Einstein said things which atheists would portray as boundlessly imbecilic if they were not, in fact, attributed to Einstein. But, since it's difficult to argue that Einstein was an idiot, they just try to ignore those statements or imagine what he 'really' meant.

Meh.

Not that that should offer any defense of Creationists, of course, who are indeed unequivocally ridiculous.

[–]Squalor- 68 points69 points ago

The thing about Katt Williams is, he's just a dumb motherfucker.

[–]colloquy 7 points8 points ago

I didn't know who Katt Williams was - had to look him up. Surprised to find out that bit was a man.

[–]uetani 21 points22 points ago

Unfortunately it works the other way as well, and the only way to be perfectly sure who is who is in retrospection.

[–]rolfsaurusrex 16 points17 points ago

What did Katt Williams say? He's not really a creationist, is he?

[–]biscobuddha 8 points9 points ago

he seems very well spoken and intelligent. mother fucker goddamn

[–]rolfsaurusrex 20 points21 points ago

The fuck? I don't know what's more disturbing: that he finds it more plausible there's a magical sky man than millions of years of evolution, or that his fans are laughing at his commentary.

[–]papadop 5 points6 points ago

Katt Williams lost respect? Why the hell did he have it? He was a fucking awful comedian, garbage quality for idiots who are mostly quite dumb themselves.

I've watched this loser on Comedy Central late at night and it's shitty comedians like Katt Williams that make me think very lowly of stand up in general.

[–]Bakoro 3 points4 points ago

Katt has done some stupid shit, but hearing him tell this sounded like it was joke and not necessarily his personal beliefs. His Standup special was funny, I don't know much more about him than that.

[–]JOLLYRANCHERR 5 points6 points ago

Actually I agree with you. IMO he plays a character. Disbelieving in evolution coincides directly with his nigga persona.

[–]viejaloca 8 points9 points ago

I had to look it up myself. So far I'm listening to this.

This fucking sucks.

[–]rolfsaurusrex 4 points5 points ago

I'm too surprised to even speak right now.

[–]KevDogg 20 points21 points ago

Fuck Katt Williams.

[–]L33T_BEANS 27 points28 points ago

This image works both ways.

[–]teuast 9 points10 points ago

"See? Dem scien-tists thinkin' we da crazy ones, mus' meen we da smurt ones!"

"No, you idiots. We think you sound dumb."

[–]super707freak 3 points4 points ago

My favorite albert einstein quote..

[–]EricWRN 11 points12 points ago

Einstein would have cringed and possibly thrown up in his mouth about his face being put behind this asinine statement.

It's become crystal clear that r/atheism has been overrun by self congratulatory teenagers.

[–]conscioncience 4 points5 points ago

I'm happy to see this post on here. I wrote a paper on Einstein and his theism. I hate to see his face thrown up whenever Atheists are bragging. He may have not believed in a personal God, but god damn did he believe in god.

[–]Kungfumantis 1 point2 points ago

Spinoza's god isn't really a "god" in the way abrahmic religions view their deity, however. Kind of important to point that out.

[–]MyriPlanet 1 point2 points ago

EVERYONE I DISAGREE WITH IS A TEENAGER.

[–]blackacidevil 5 points6 points ago

Einstein wasn't an atheist. All this Katt Williams "incident" did was highlight the hypocrisy of many atheists that frequent r/atheism. Had he made an offensive comment supporting the view of there being no deity, most of you would be saying how hysterical he is and how on point he is. You deny that now, but we all know it's true. (We ALL know it's true)

But no, what he did was make a statement (rather: joke) saying that its foolish to be an atheist...in the same vein that other atheist celebrities comment on the foolishness of being one who believes in God. So instead of being celebrated (like you do with the comments from atheist celebrities)...Katt Williams is called a jerk. ...but like I said, all thats really happened is we now have a better idea of the many hypocrites that frequent r/atheism. It's not about whether he's right or wrong, Katt Williams wins because he unintentionally made many of you look the fool.

[–]chiefwigums 6 points7 points ago

Einstein wasn't an atheist. He even went out of the way to defend Catholicism at times. Know your shit.

[–]iamanooj 2 points3 points ago

He said that he does not believe in a personal God. He simply took admiration with the universe.

[–]God_is_b 6 points7 points ago

Reddit really needs to stop taking comedians so goddamn seriously.

[–]canada_dryer 9 points10 points ago

Though this will likely be buried, as someone who has studied the history of science and technology I'm going to have to hit the brakes on the karma train.

There isn't a definitive answer as to what Einstein's position on religion was. It evolved from his youth when he attended a Catholic school where he " immensely enjoyed the Catholic religion courses" and he developed a connection with his Jewish ancestry during World War II (more socio-politically than spiritually).

He was often quoted as recognizing that the institutions of the church had no business in the realm of science (paraphrasing). Though in later life, however, his personal anecdotes and letters expressed differently.

"It is overly simplistic to characterize Einstein as an adversary of religion, as does Dawkins, who fails to see that for Einstein science itself had a religious basis, being convinced that the laws of the universe are regular and orderly... (Eminent Lives in Twentieth Century Science and Religion)

Biographer Walter Isaacson also quoted Einstein as saying, "I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one. You may call me an agnostic, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being."

Tl; dr -- meme is not accurate.

Edit: So /r/atheism is choosing to ignore facts now and remove context from history to make up their own narrative. How ironic.

[–]justanotherhumanbein 3 points4 points ago

I'm just going to post that last Einstein quote to every juvenile atheism post I see from now on. I don't do hero worship, but wow, that just expressed my thoughts on r/atheism better than I ever could.

[–]takka_takka_takka 4 points5 points ago

Also remember that crazy motherfuckers can seem like smart motherfuckers to dumb motherfuckers and dumb motherfuckers can seem like smart motherfuckers to crazy motherfuckers.

[–]RecursionVersion 2 points3 points ago

This is also very good advice for dealing with your mother in law.

[–]awwwwsnap 1 point2 points ago

The fact that people are taking Kat Williams seriously or are getting upset about anything he say, being a comedian, is pretty stupid.

[–]ThoseArentMeerkats 4 points5 points ago

Isn't that quote from Abraham in the Walking Dead comics?

[–]syvil 3 points4 points ago

You are also correct! http://i.imgur.com/vtlGI.gif

[–]halotwo2 4 points5 points ago

This quote sucks ass, proves nothing, and wasn't said by albert E.

way to go, r/atheism

[–]Gerdass 7 points8 points ago

I actually really like this quote....

[–]adamjarvizu 0 points1 point ago

OH MY LACK OF GOD... SO... MUCH... JPEG.....

[–]Tommassive 1 point2 points ago

it no matter. everybody die

[–]camaromelt 2 points3 points ago

True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing. -Socrates.

So really belief in either creationists or pure evolution theories is both are Theories and not proven 100% either way. So really both parties have faith. To say your stupid because you believe in one or the other is ignorant. I believe in the creationist theory with evolution working throughout as well. But i hardly believe we came from a single celled organism.

Science ... Bitch.

[–]Shroom_mole 1 point2 points ago

As a spoilt 15 year old Atheist with PhDs in Philosophy, politics and astrophysics, I can confirm that I also find creationists to be of significantly inferior intelligence to me. CHOO CHOO.

[–]purecussion 0 points1 point ago

Wasn't Einstein a creationist

[–]lurked2long 1 point2 points ago

No.

[–]von_sip -1 points0 points ago

Sweet walking dead quote

[–]couchguy987 -1 points0 points ago

I'm just going to say this: I don't honestly think Katt Williams is a creationist. I honestly think he doesn't really give a shit about evolution vs. creation, and he's just jumping on the creationism bandwagon because the core of his audience and target demographic are creationists. Katt Williams may or may not be cynical, but I sure as hell am.

[–]truthie 1 point2 points ago

If you feel intellectually threatened by fuckin katt Williams you have a big problem.

[–]Msj2705 1 point2 points ago

As a computer engineering major rooming with a PhyEd major and a drama major, I get called a crazy motherfucker every time they see any of my text books.

[–]sloppyjoes7 6 points7 points ago

Right now I'm studying Matrix Analysis of Structures. A graduate-level structural engineering course, where my textbook has almost as many greek letters as Latin letters.

But if I tell anyone on Reddit that I'm a Christian, suddenly they know I have an IQ of 75 or lower.

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

[–]madhaxor 4 points5 points ago

regardless of Katt Williams political/religious views, HE IS FUCKING HILARIOUS

[–]chicolta 2 points3 points ago

Saw some of this guys standup stuff, a pretty stupid individual.

[–]Lochen 10 points11 points ago

I've watched his stand-up for many years, and never saw him say this before. He is pretty funny. I honestly don't know what you can say that he is stupid as an individual when referring to an on stage character.

I mean, Larry the Cable guy fakes how dumb he is all the time. Colbert plays off being 'stupid' as a character - You saying that Colbert is stupid?

[–]notbookies 10 points11 points ago

Right, Larry the cable guy and colbert both play characters, which is pretty general knowledge. You're saying katt williams plays a character? Because I didn't know that was the case. There's a difference between exaggerating your personality (something all comics do) and playing a character.

[–]Lochen 10 points11 points ago

Katt Williams constantly states that he is a pimp, and tells stories of it.

He has never been arrested or even investigated on those claims. He has however been arrested within the last 2 years for burglary (stealing coins) and assault (throwing rocks at a man on a tractor).

I'd say if your entire act is based on a false premise of you being a pimp, and all the jokes of his career being on him being a pimp, yeah I'd call that an act.

[–]notbookies 7 points8 points ago

I doubt Jim Gaffigan actually eats a hot pocket for dinner every night before a show. That doesn't mean he's playing a character. It's just a joke.

I think Stephen Colbert completely committing to the character of Steven Colbert every night, which is an entirely different personality/mannerisms/set of beliefs/etc., and basically never breaking character is a little different than katt williams telling pimp jokes.

[–]Lochen 3 points4 points ago

That is a single joke, and he likes to sing the word while disconnected to other jokes he makes. Jim also doesn't claim that he eats hot pockets for a living. Katt's ACT is based on being a pimp:

http://www.youtube.com/results?q=katt%20williams%20pimp&hl=en&newwindow=1&safe=off&prmd=imvnso&biw=960&bih=527&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=i1&gl=CA

[–]notbookies 2 points3 points ago

I've seen his act many times, I'm aware. I still don't think it's even remotely comparable. A single trait or whatever you want to call it does not equate to completely changing your entire personality.

[–]potionsmaster 6 points7 points ago

I suppose being a "pimp" is funnier than being a "rock-thrower" so at least he chose his act well.

[–]lawstudent2 12 points13 points ago

Huge, huge difference.

Colbert plays a dumb character in an incredibly witty way and makes many high minded jokes, double entendres, puns, and manages to convey a lot of actually pretty liberal politics through his characterization of a stereotypical talk radio conservative. It is thoroughly sophisticated and he makes a tremendous amount of social and political commentary, in addition to throwing in the occasional low brow joke.

Larry the cable guy may or may not be smart, but his comedy sure is fucking stupid. It's hurr hurr them's different, women like this, guys like that, git-r-done, fart joke, and mild to not so mild undertones of racism. In fact, open racism. Not mocking racism, or making fun of racism, just straight up racism. The man says some really hideous things about Islam and torture, and his audience cheers. He isn't being ironic, the same way you cannot be ironic if you are cheering at a sports stadium and someone sinks a three pointer. He is producing the desired effect, and even if he isn't racist, he plays one unironically.

Katt Williams is the same. Even if he is smart (extremely doubtful), his humor is fucking idiotic. It's just repetitive screaming with no deeper message whatsoever. If he is not a creationist, then he is up there in the valhalla of comedians with Andy Kauffman at pulling a fast one on the audience. But given how atrocious and low brow his stuff is -- I am not betting on it.

[–]hwachob95 2 points3 points ago

Many people I know find him to be hilarious, and yet, like you, I really don't.

[–]kalimashookdeday 7 points8 points ago

I find him hilarious, even when he says some of the dumbest shit I've ever seen as assembled in a sentence with real words (see OP) because I know him to be a FUCKING COMEDIAN. Not a SCIENTIST, PHILOSOPHER, or GREAT THINKER.

I find it ironic that when atheist comedians get posted here, people use this "oh he's a comedian, don't worry about his fallacies" but not for Katt Williams?

He's funny if you realize that he cracks jokes to make a living - not for people to take what he says literally, seriously, and to debate it. It's a reflection of who he is - but his bit here wasn't intended to be the basis of a moral and theological debate.

[–]Boota_Boota 2 points3 points ago

He can believe what he wants, but you can't really be shocked that there is backlash for him calling people stupid (especially people that believe in science over a faith-based religion).

[–]NotRichBarr 5 points6 points ago

Implying being atheist makes you smart. Circlejerk is leaking again!

[–]bdhir 2 points3 points ago

Do you think Einstein was an atheist? Cause he was most certainly not

Boom, thats what she said

[–]QQ_Train 1 point2 points ago

What if Kat Williams was a techer? It would probably go something like this

[–]VerneAsimov -1 points0 points ago

Correction: They are crazy motherfuckers.

[–]Jahonay -1 points0 points ago

Well, smart people and crazy people all sound crazy to dumb people.

[–]GYBEco 1 point2 points ago

ITT: People thinking they're automatically a schizotypal savant scientist for the sole reason of a lack of faith. You guys do realize that many of the most intelligent people to walk this earth were theists, right? Not to say that either side is automatically more intelligent than the other, in fact, that's my entire point.

[–]SpeedyVT 1 point2 points ago

A smart person would not stand firm to any side. Instead they'd accept both possible circumstances of life because there is still too little knowledge to propose either wrong or right. For all we know god could have created humans through evolution in his little incubated space Eden. Shrugs But that picture is spot on for both the OP and Katt Williams.

It is impossible to grasp a level of genius higher than your own. And the higher up the scale you go, the more you know about all the stuff you don't know.

Creationists and other highly superstitious people are not interested in knowing anything. They feel safe in their superstition and they are terrified of the unknown.

[–]RHCP4Life 0 points1 point ago

I want to rub this awesomeness up and down my body.

[–]smishter 0 points1 point ago

wasn't that Katt Williams quote? is he a creationist?

[–]amishbreakfast 0 points1 point ago

The thing about crazy motherfuckers is they sound like crazy motherfuckers to everyone who isn't crazy in the exact same way.

[–]aaronius15 1 point2 points ago

People don't think it be like it is, but it do.

[–]SoDutch 0 points1 point ago

I still cant believe Einstein actually said this!

[–]just_a_commenter 0 points1 point ago

ITT people with inflated notions of their intelligence. Also when does someone not accepting science affect their ability to do something totally unrelated to science?

Edit: Also I am liking the hypocrisy here, this has nothing to do with creationism vs evolution but the fact that you would automatically switch your view of someone because he has an opinion you perceive as wrong thereby vilifying someone based solely on their beliefs rather than their character and action. Get over it, some people aren't as "intellectually superior" as you guys.

[–]Max_Beezly 0 points1 point ago

I don't go to katt williams for scientific knowledge. seriously, who gives a shit about this guys opinion?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

I needed this.

[–]HymenAnnihilator 0 points1 point ago

Dude, Katt doesn't know who that is.

[–]tomassbender 0 points1 point ago

"Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish." Euripides

[–]stepup2stepout 0 points1 point ago

I'm willing to bet youre not a smart motherfucker, more like an average motherfucker just like the "dumb motherfuckers" you speak of. You just have an above average ego thinking you are a smart motherfucker.

[–]JackRubysGun 0 points1 point ago

If Dane Cook recorded himself farting into a walkie talkie for an hour he would be funnier than anything Katt Williams had ever said and Dane Cook is to comedy what Nickleback is to sound.

[–]Quizzelbuck 0 points1 point ago

Did Albert Einstein put that in his letter to Roosevelt?

[–]phallacies 1 point2 points ago

bravest redditor, amirite?

[–]ccrepitation 0 points1 point ago

what did katt williams say? i must have missed that thread.

[–]justanotherhumanbein 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, because I bet if Einstein was alive he'd spend all his time on reddit talking about something he doesn't believe in, instead of you know, inventing relativity and shit.

[–]RonaldPaul2012 0 points1 point ago

Thought that was Katt at first glance... must be the no cut.

[–]oldude 0 points1 point ago

Sounds like a description of Tesla.

[–]MiguelGusto 0 points1 point ago

To be fair, most really stupid motherfuckers will think that Katt is the smart motherfucker in this scenario.

[–]mynamestopher 0 points1 point ago

word

[–]tonilexis 0 points1 point ago

That is so true!

[–]syphon3980 0 points1 point ago

Post this on Katt William's twitter.

[–]veloroflraptor -1 points0 points ago

That you would even take the time to respond to a shitty comedian about his opinions as if he's even important to the discussion says LOADS about the state of "Atheism" as used by reddit.

[–]Tudoor 1 point2 points ago

the funny part is that Christians or whatnot can take the picture and that quote and say the same thing about atheists.

[–]SaikoGekido 0 points1 point ago

I can confirm this. I'm currently in a pimple popping argument with someone over the internet. They feel that it is ignorant of me to say that popping doesn't help, because they've had acne for 10 years and know how to "pop a pimple properly".

[–]SoShinyRS 0 points1 point ago

albert einstein wasn't even an athiest, he was agnostic

[–]neoandblondetrinity -1 points0 points ago

To quote Robert Heinlein (paraphrased I'm still stunned by the Obama AMA)

"Never try to teach a pig to sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig."

Creationists are just as educated in the field of science as most barnyard pigs.

[–]cocacolabear 0 points1 point ago

So if people say the theory of Evolution is just a theory, then what is creationism, a fact......whats lower than a theory, a hypothesis? Would Creationism be a hypothesis or what?

[–]electromonkey222 0 points1 point ago

Whenever Katt Williams: It's Pimpin Pimpin; comes on Comedy Central I NEVER watch it. I really hate his kind of stand-up comedy. I also hate That other stupid Wild'n Out show that he's on with Nick Cannon.

[–]SolarClipz 0 points1 point ago

Katt Williams is hilarious. Good thing I never saw this particular one. Ahaha

[–]darthmittens 1 point2 points ago

Wasn't Einstein a theist who believed in an eternal model of the universe until Hubble discovered expansion?

[–]eidolons 1 point2 points ago

Katt Williams? All the religious-minded out there and we are worried about Katt Williams?

[–]sozef616 0 points1 point ago

God does exist! His name is Watkin Tudor Jones!

[–]tcrcp 0 points1 point ago

In the words of Rick James "E=MC2, bitch!"

[–]thechapattack 1 point2 points ago

[–]BirdMav -1 points0 points ago

I feel like this everyday of my fucking life. Problems of a highly educated motherfucker and dealing with everyday retards.

[–]royalstaircase 0 points1 point ago

also relevant

When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him -Jonathan Swift

[–]RightWingWrite -1 points0 points ago

The fact that Reddit even knows who Katt Williams is speaks volumes about how retarded your user base is.

[–]xyroclast -1 points0 points ago

Serious question: Is Katt Williams relevant at all?

I had no idea who he was before the post that showed what he said about evolution.

[–]Savagedrinkingbud 0 points1 point ago

Dislike, excellent grammar "smart motherfucker"

[–]throwaway_yep_yep 0 points1 point ago

Except that 9 times out of 10, crazy people seem crazy because... they are.

For every brilliant scientist there are 10 crazy conspiracy theorists who pretend to be scientists.

[–]mitt2012 -1 points0 points ago

He's a comedian.

[–]trixter21992251 0 points1 point ago

The irony of course being that Katt Williams to me sounds like a crazy motherfucker :-/

[–]logan420 0 points1 point ago

Heh

[–]braxxo 0 points1 point ago

That's my shiittt!

[–]unecessarilymargie 1 point2 points ago

I see you cropped this from my instagram account. Lol.

[–]nickdngr 0 points1 point ago

it's only a matter of time before people start flooding known creationists' social networks with this phrase. although, it would be cool to see someone walk up to katt williams in real life and troll him with this.

[–]TheIllogical 1 point2 points ago

The thing about crazy motherfuckers is they sound like smart motherfuckers to dumb motherfuckers

[–]iapplephoenix 0 points1 point ago

Respect.

[–]mark4669 0 points1 point ago

Neither heard, nor heard of him, but I'm guessing whatever he said is part of his act and he is saying it for laughs (in a Poe sense).

[–]HystericalAndUseless 0 points1 point ago

Why does this look like it was made in the 80's?

[–]CircleK1112 -1 points0 points ago

Love the Walking Dead Abraham reference!

[–]IStalkTheOP 1 point2 points ago

You make a lot of posts about Facebook.

[–]Matloc 0 points1 point ago

He's not funny.

WSAMF

wide smile acros my face.

[–]OnceAndFutureThing 0 points1 point ago

What about condescending motherfuckers?

[–]thecentrist11 1 point2 points ago

When I read this, I thought the creationists were the crazy mf-ers. It could easily go both ways.

[–]Whitemike31683 0 points1 point ago

So I should take a person's beliefs into account before I decide whether I find him entertaining?

Good to know...

[–]d4mol 1 point2 points ago

Einstein believed in Spinozism. Isn't that kind of ironic that you put him in a meme on r/atheism

[–]Nattgew 1 point2 points ago

And vice versa

[–]Thepogschampion 0 points1 point ago

...though couldn't it work in reverse? Like religious people think they know the answers? I could see that turning into a Keanu conspiracy meme....

[–]Wolfman215 0 points1 point ago

Albert mother fuckin Einstein.

[–]conundrum4u2 0 points1 point ago

Katt Williams can be a creationist if he wants to...since there really is no evolutionary explanation for him, he must have been the result of some kind of weird luck of the draw...

[–]Majil229 0 points1 point ago

The thing about intelligent individuals is that they find no need for curse words. Our vocabulary is not lacking, so we need not spew foul ignorance.

[–]blahblahblahxyz123 0 points1 point ago

Saying mother fuckers repeatedly really drives the point home.

[–]fagcityhomo4 -1 points0 points ago

So, that's the reason Katt Williams sounds like a crazy mother fucker to you dumb mother fuckers?

[–]6topher 1 point2 points ago

in my world "motherfucker" is one word

[–]PyattPree 0 points1 point ago

This must explain my life

[–]unit9513 0 points1 point ago

This poster could be taken to mean that Katt Williams is actually and amazing artist and his act is pure and simple parody.

[–]vargonian 0 points1 point ago

You are creating a very real dilemma for the anti-intellectual racists of Reddit.

[–]landonain 0 points1 point ago

does debating the accuracy of memes qualify for first world problems?
